Chen Rui switched the walkie-talkie to a different channel and said to Ye Han, "Your target may be equipped with military-grade bomb-proof suits, so with your weapons, only the 14 Machine Gun can likely inflict effective damage. Additionally, the target might have hired mercenaries, so please stay alert to your surroundings at all times!"
"Understood. I will keep reporting on the general channel!" Ye Han efficiently replied and communicated the information to each team member.
"Alright, report anything important in a timely manner." Chen Rui sat back in his lounge chair, his expression quite unnatural.
He had truly overlooked these points beforehand; they could hire a group of people to draw fire, which would allow them to cover themselves while engaging in a real firefight. When that time came, Chen Rui's side could very well face an enemy force several times their number.
"Really underestimated this," Chen Rui said with a bitter smile.
Li Xue asked with a laugh, "So you admit you can miscalculate too?"
"Why not?" Chen Rui countered with a smile. "What good would it do not to admit it?"
Li Xue looked at Chen Rui with amusement, making him feel a bit uneasy. He quickly averted his gaze and stopped making eye contact with her.
"Pick up the pace! Anyone who falls behind will be sent back without rest!" Peng Hao said cheerfully into the walkie-talkie, which was met with howls and pleas from the team.
After breaking through the roadblocks set by the police cars, the robbers jumped out of the Bulldozer. Given the speed of the Bulldozer, there was no way they could escape from the police pursuit.
Less than ten seconds after they jumped off the Bulldozer, a Cadillac pulled up in front of them. The robbers skillfully got into the car and drove away, while Peng Hao's team could only follow closely behind. After all, that Cadillac occasionally fired shots at the pursuing vehicles behind them.
Peng Hao stayed right on their tail; although the others were not as skilled drivers as he was, they didn't fall too far behind. The five SUVs were engaged in a life-and-death chase on the highway.
Suddenly, the rear window of the Cadillac rolled down again. However, this time there was no assault rifle sticking out for a spray of bullets; instead, a hand emerged giving a thumbs-up.
Suddenly, Peng Hao saw a black spherical object slip from the hand of the assailant. He immediately slammed the accelerator to the floor and shouted, "Hand grenade!"
The vehicle following Peng Hao hurriedly hit the brakes, but it was too late. The Tactical Grenade exploded right near its Fuel Tank, causing a massive explosion that also ignited the Fuel Tank.
The third vehicle couldn't stop in time and crashed into the second vehicle at the moment of the explosion. The impact sent its engine directly into the center of the blast, and the intense heat instantly ignited the third vehicle, which soon exploded as well.
"Boss, it's just the three of us left now," came a voice from the intercom inside Vehicle Four.
"It's fine, you all hurry up and catch up!" Peng Hao replied, his tone unusually calm rather than his usual frantic or excited demeanor.
As Peng Hao accelerated and approached the Cadillac, he suddenly floored the gas pedal and slightly turned the steering wheel to the left. The Chevrolet crashed into the left rear light of the Cadillac.
At high speed, the Cadillac was pushed to the right by such an impact due to inertia. Peng Hao quickly shifted down and aimed again at the rear of the Cadillac before accelerating once more.
"You finally made it! We've completed a basic encirclement, but since the robbers' weapons are far superior to ours, I need your assistance. Can you deploy like this?" The Police Leader hurried over after seeing Ye Han and others arrive, pulling out a map and pointing at various marked locations.
"Alright. Our mission is to assist you in capturing all the criminals," Ye Han said after briefly reviewing it. The deployment was similar to what he had envisioned earlier, focusing on key and sensitive positions, effectively targeting the enemy's weak points.
"The enemy's firepower is fierce; we were nearly unable to fight back before. The good news is that most of their weapons are light, except for one heavy weapon," the Police Leader said to Ye Han. "I wonder if you can suppress their firepower. Once you do that, we can take advantage and launch an assault; perhaps we can take them down in one go."
"Perhaps?" Ye Han frowned. "Is all this effort just for a 'perhaps'?"
"They're coming out! Get down!" The Police Leader quickly pushed Ye Han down as he saw everyone instinctively crouch behind cover at almost the same moment.
The sounds that followed were mechanical noises, the clattering of ammunition, and the sound of bullets striking the cover.
This noise was coming from the 14 mounted on their SUV!
"Is this your heavy weapon? But it seems like there’s more than one!" Ye Han shouted, as multiple rotary machine guns roared, forcing them to speak loudly even at such close range.
"No! This isn't my heavy weapon," the person replied somewhat flustered. "You'll probably hear it soon!"
"Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang!" Indeed, Ye Han clearly heard a different gunfire join the fray, but this sound was even louder and more terrifying.
Was that a .50 caliber machine gun?!
"This is too outrageous! Where did they get something like this?" Ye Han shouted.
The police officer, clearly agitated, yelled back, "How would I know? And this isn't a .50 caliber! This is an autocannon! They’ve mounted it on an armored vehicle!"
"Boom!" A police car was directly blown apart by the powerful firepower. Fortunately, no officers were injured, as they all took cover behind concrete barriers, aware of how strong the enemy's weapons were.
"And there's an armored vehicle!" Ye Han was shocked. This wasn’t the Middle East; it wasn’t a place where weapons could be easily transported just because someone had money! Whoever managed to sell an armored vehicle here had some serious connections!
"Chen Rui! Chen Rui! Respond if you hear me!" Ye Han and the others were completely pinned down and could only call for Chen Rui to come assist them.
"Received! What’s going on?" Chen Rui quickly replied. The radio crackled with gunfire, enough to prove the dire situation Ye Han and her team were in.
"Enemy firepower is too strong, requesting support!" Ye Han shouted. "They have already started boarding the vehicles. We will follow at a safe distance. Please deploy a team for an ambush; their firepower does not allow us to launch a frontal assault."
"Is it that serious?" Chen Rui frowned slightly. He had considered this situation, but he hadn't expected the enemy's firepower to keep Ye Han and her team from lifting their heads. What kind of weapons were they using?
"Alright, I will immediately send Liu Xin's team over. Make sure you don't lose track of them!" Chen Rui responded quickly and then signaled Liu Xin.
Seeing the signal, Liu Xin quickly led his team out of the office. Now, only the Zhan Min Group remained in the office, while the Lu Jie Group was still on the rooftop.
"Lu Jie, come down! Prepare for battle while monitoring!" Chen Rui called down to the Lu Jie Group. This way, even if the Zhan Min Group left, there would still be a reserve team.
"Understood!" Lu Jie took off his headset and smiled at his teammates. "Pack up, we're going downstairs for tea."
The Lu Jie Team chuckled as they entered the office. Upon seeing the quiet space and the eager Zhan Min Group, they couldn't help but feel a bit excited.
"Are we up next?" Lu Jie asked.
Chen Rui nodded. "Yes, starting now, you will also prepare as a reserve team! Once the Zhan Min Group is done, it will be your turn!" Chen Rui's hands were tightly clenched, revealing a hint of intense unease.
"Don't take it so seriously," Lu Jie said, noticing Chen Rui's worried expression. "It's just a game after all. If we lose, it's no big deal. Who knows, that group might win and celebrate with a Red Envelope!"
Chen Rui paused for a moment before shaking his head and laughing at himself. "Ah! You're right! It's just a game; why am I being so serious? As long as we're having fun!"
"Ding ding! Ding ding!" Suddenly, Lu Jie's laptop in his arms rang out. He hurriedly sat down in his chair, opened the laptop, and exclaimed in astonishment, "They're really here!"
Chen Rui arrived at the sound, looking at the information displayed on the notebook indicating that the police station had received a distress signal. The furrow in his brow finally eased.
"Zhan Min Group! Move out immediately! Target: Wells Fargo!" As Chen Rui issued the command, every member of the Zhan Min Group began to cheer, finally getting their chance to take action.
The Zhan Min Group swiftly poured out of the office. Meanwhile, members of the Lu Jie Group sighed; it seemed that they would not get their turn as Wells Fargo had already come under attack. However, the enemy's tactic of feinting was not executed very well.
In Las Vegas, there were certainly more than one Wells Fargo, but Chen Rui referred specifically to a branch less than 15 meters from this building, visible from the office.
Chen Rui walked to the window and saw that the Zhan Min Group had quickly surrounded Wells Fargo with their vehicles. Four Chevrolet SUVs blocked the bank's main entrance, and from the rear windows of the SUVs, four 14-barrel rotary machine guns rose up, their dark muzzles aimed at the bank's front door.
"Everything is ready; let's hope for no unexpected winds," Chen Rui thought, feeling an inexplicable sense of worry.
Suddenly, a flash of white light appeared as an explosion sent one SUV flying toward the bank's entrance. Someone was attacking them from behind!
Almost instinctively, all police officers and agents turned their gazes backward. Chen Rui watched this scene unfold and shouted in alarm!
Sure enough, at the moment most people turned around, fierce gunfire erupted from inside the bank, accompanied by a terrifying metal storm of dense bullets.
"Damn it!" Chen Rui turned to Lu Jie and said, "Your team needs to support Zhan Min Group immediately. Be aware that there may be an unknown number of enemy troops armed with rocket launchers behind them!"
"Understood!" After a serious military salute, Lu Jie quickly led his team out of the office.
"Zhan Min! Report casualty status!" Chen Rui spoke into the intercom.
"Four are dead, and including me, only three remain, all with varying degrees of minor injuries." Zhan Min's voice was somewhat hoarse, clearly having just escaped from death.
"I have already dispatched the Lu Jie Group to support you. No matter what, you must not let a single one escape!" Chen Rui issued a deadly order. This group had never shown their faces and their tactical coordination was impeccable. He felt that they were likely the target individuals, so they had to be captured at all costs!
"I guarantee the mission will be completed..." Zhan Min's voice was drowned out by the sound of explosions as a Rocket Launcher detonated beside the vehicle where Zhan Min was located, blowing up a police car and flipping an SUV. Zhan Min's situation was unknown.
Watching the smoke-filled streets below, Chen Rui's hands gradually tightened. "It seems I need to take this more seriously."
A hand patted Chen Rui's shoulder, and a soft voice came from behind him. "Why are you so angry? It's just a game, right? Is it really necessary to be like this?" Li Xue gently wrapped her arms around Chen Rui from behind.
Chen Rui turned around and embraced Li Xue, saying lightly, "You're right; it's my fault. This game should have been about letting you all enjoy yourselves. Making sure you have fun is our true goal."
Li Xue pushed Chen Rui away and took a step back with a mischievous smile. "Not at all! If you don't take this game seriously and get into it, no one will have any fun! Besides, we're just a bunch of bored and wealthy lunatics, so it's really tough on you."
Suddenly, in the moment of Chen Rui's surprise, Li Xue stepped forward again and hugged him tightly. "Whose words are those?"
Chen Rui held Li Xue close, his fingers brushing through her waist-length hair as he smiled. "That counts as eavesdropping!"
"If you do that again, I won't let you play with my head anymore." Li Xue rested her head against Chen Rui's chest. In truth, she wasn't much shorter than him; at that moment, she curled up closer just to lean against him. Usually, to emphasize his height, she rarely wore high heels.
In Chen Rui's embrace, a faint smile appeared on Li Xue's face.
