Chen Rui hurriedly ran out of the cabin, leaping down the gangway and rushing to Li Li's side. "When did they get attracted over here?" 0

"They've probably been following us all along. This won't do; we need to leave as soon as possible!" Li Li kept pulling the trigger, executing precise three-round bursts. With each burst, another Zombie fell lifeless to the ground. 0

"Everyone on the plane, prepare for takeoff!" Chen Rui aimed at a nearby Zombie, firing in bursts. Although his efficiency couldn't match Li Li's, his ammunition consumption was much slower, allowing him to sustain combat for a longer time. 0

After finishing her magazine, Li Li turned to look at the plane and then at the mass of corpses in front of them, her brow furrowing. 0

"Can we take off in this situation?" 0

Chen Rui realized this issue and shook his head. "No way. We need someone to draw them away; otherwise, when the engine starts, Zombies will get sucked in. We might not even make it to the runway!" 0

"Draw them away?" 0

Li Li paused for a moment. "You mean go sacrifice ourselves?" 0

"What other choice do we have? It's either one person dies or everyone dies together. And it's not really death; it’s just a game." 0

Chen Rui's words were interrupted by Li Xue. 0

"Enough! What do you mean 'not really'? Even if it's just a game, who wants to sacrifice themselves? You've said so much; why don’t you go instead?" 0

Li Xue suddenly exploded with anger, shouting at Chen Rui in desperation. 0

Chen Rui pondered over Li Xue's unexpected outburst and couldn't help but smile wryly. Yes, people paid for enjoyment; who was he to decide for them? And why shouldn't he be the one to draw the fire? 0

"Alright, I'm going. You all hurry up and leave," Chen Rui said with a smile, quickly running towards the Buick Business Van. 0

"Hey! Idiot!" came Li Xue's voice from behind. Chen Rui couldn't help but think to himself: maybe I really am an idiot. 0

He raised the rifle in his right hand, aiming at the pile of Zombies, his index finger resting on the trigger. 0

The continuous gunfire soon drew the attention of the Zombies. Chen Rui reached the side of the Buick Business Van, changed the magazine, and smiled at the people standing not far away before getting into the vehicle. 0

When Li Xue got out of the car, she hadn't turned off the engine, so it was still running. Chen Rui rolled down the window and extended his rifle out, resting his arm on the window frame. 0

"Bang bang bang bang bang." 0

Another burst from the magazine, and all of the Zombies were completely focused on Chen Rui. 0

He pulled the rifle back inside, changed magazines again, released the handbrake of the Buick Business Van, shifted into reverse, and drove straight towards the Zombies. 0

Thanks to its design and the fact that the Zombies weren't too densely packed, Chen Rui successfully knocked down several of them and broke free from their encirclement. 0

As he maneuvered through the mass of corpses, he glanced ahead at the others with a light chuckle. He nodded at the Buick and extended his rifle out of the window again. This time, instead of firing continuously, he opted for controlled shots to draw the Zombies' attention. 0

"Idiot!" 0

Li Xue's frantic shout rang out behind him once more. Chen Rui frowned slightly; why was she so worrisome? He had just managed to attract the Zombies' focus. If her shout drew them back, all his efforts and three magazines would be wasted! 0

Chen Rui switched back to rapid fire mode, emptying his magazine to successfully prevent any Zombies from returning towards Li Xue and the others. 0

Chen Rui pressed the accelerator to the floor, and the battered Buick surged forward once more. Since he was on the airport runway, there was no need for him to drive cautiously; anything in his path could simply be run over. 0

He stowed his rifle, removed the magazine, raised the gun with his left hand, and reached for his waist with his right hand, not even bothering to grip the steering wheel! 0

As his right hand moved, he felt the cold texture of two curved rectangular objects fill his palm. Chen Rui couldn't help but feel anxious; with only two magazines left, how could he possibly hold off the zombies? 0

He quickly loaded a magazine and extended his left hand out of the window, beginning to fire short bursts to attract the zombies' attention. 0

"It's so cold..." The wind howled fiercely through the open window, chilling Chen Rui to the bone. The coldest sensation came from his left hand, which was outside the vehicle. He felt like Andre from the movie Snowpiercer, who had lost an arm in a rebellion against tyranny. The biting wind pierced through him like needles, sending sharp pains deep into his bones. 0

"Come on," Chen Rui muttered to himself, one hand gripping the steering wheel while the other rhythmically squeezed the trigger of his rifle. 0

With Chen Rui's car speed, he quickly reached the end of the runway. He truly couldn't drive this Buick like Li Xue could handle a sports car, so he had no choice but to make a U-turn. 0

Looking at the horde of zombies rushing toward him, Chen Rui sighed and put away his rifle; there was no need to torture himself any longer. 0

The high revs and previous drifting had severely worn down the tires. Chen Rui could almost guarantee that after just two laps around this runway, one of them would blow out. 0

At that point, his duty would be over since there was nothing left to draw the zombies' attention. He might barely qualify as a distraction himself, but could one person really compete with an airplane? 0

Chen Rui deliberately used speed to maneuver around the horde, avoiding contact with them. After all, this battle-hardened Buick was like an aging general; it could no longer charge into battle as it once did in its youth. In this situation, approaching them would be tantamount to suicide. 0

He soon passed through the mass of corpses and moments later spotted a group of people standing near an aircraft, along with a few scattered zombies heading in their direction. 0

Through the rearview mirror, Chen Rui glanced at the horde trailing behind him and sighed again, pressing down harder on the accelerator. 0

The design length of the runway was three thousand four hundred meters. Chen Rui's car approached fifty miles per hour, and in less than three minutes, he reached the other end of the runway. He turned the car around and stopped, watching the horde of Zombies rushing toward him from a kilometer away. 0

"Such a sensitive reaction; I can't shake them off..." 0

Chen Rui smiled wryly as he pulled the handbrake and revved the engine in a low gear. The RPM quickly climbed to its current peak—four thousand eight hundred. As he watched the approaching mass of corpses, he slowly released the handbrake. 0

The Buick roared forward like an arrow released from a bow, the engine's roar echoing like an angry bull, while the screeching tires created a cloud of smoke and noise that was exhilarating. 0

With both hands gripping the steering wheel, Chen Rui drove the Buick with utmost seriousness, resembling a professional race car driver, completely different from his earlier demeanor. 0

He continued to use the car's advantages to maneuver around the horde. A head-on collision would surely put him at a disadvantage; he only hoped that Li Xue and the others could successfully escape under the conditions he created. 0

When Chen Rui spotted Li Xue and the others again, he realized they were surrounded by another group of Zombies. Without hesitation, he turned sharply and charged toward the direction of the plane. 0

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" The Buick crashed through one Zombie after another, carving a bloody path through the crowd. However, this also caused the engine to stall. 0

Chen Rui swapped out his rifle for the last magazine, opened the car door, and ran over to join them. 0

At that moment, the seven of them formed a defensive arc around the private plane, making a futile stand against their attackers. 0

"Why aren't you leaving?" Chen Rui shouted over the cacophony of gunfire that nearly drowned out his voice. 0

Li Xue shot him a glare but said nothing; however, her downturned mouth clearly indicated her displeasure. 0

So this girl doesn't actually want me to draw fire after all, Chen Rui thought with a smile. 0

"You didn't lure all the Zombies away. We managed to clear out some of them with our guns, but right after that, a horde of Zombies came pouring out from the large hangar area to the north, and they quickly climbed over that iron gate," Zhou Zhi said weakly. 0

In contrast to Zhou Zhi, Zhou Yan was all smiles as she looked at Chen Rui. "It seems we're not meant to leave. So what should we do? We can only fight!!!" 0

With that, another round of gunfire erupted. The front row of Zombies fell to the ground, but most of them quickly got back up and continued dragging themselves toward them. 0

"Don't waste bullets," Chen Rui said, glancing at the single Magazine left with a bitter smile. 0

"I should have realized it earlier; it was never going to go smoothly at the airport. Plans never keep up with changes; there's nothing we can do," Qin Xin said, punching Chen Rui on the shoulder. If one ignored the background, this scene felt like old friends meeting. 0

"What the hell! Are you all really this stupid or just pretending?" Li Xue finally exploded, continuously shooting at the approaching Zombies until her Magazine ran dry before calming down. 0

Li Xue forced a smile and asked Li Li, "It's not scary to face a god-like opponent; what's terrifying is having teammates who are as useless as pigs. Right, bro?" 0

Li Li awkwardly tapped his fingers together. "Actually, I don't think they're wrong." 0

"I feel like I've fallen into a pigsty..." 0

Li Xue pushed back in confusion, leaning against the airplane's ladder railing and pointing at everyone. "I don't know you all; none of you are real..." 0

Wang Xinzhuo sighed. "It's not entirely their fault. From start to finish, we never fully accepted this action plan. Chen Rui has been leading everything on his own, so we lack independent thinking. Also, none of us have ever been on a plane before, and considering everything that happened earlier, naturally no one thought about this issue." 0

"Sister Wang understands my feelings," Li Xue said playfully as she leaned into Wang Xinzhuo's embrace, pointing at Chen Rui and the others while scolding, "A bunch of idiots! Useless teammates!!!" 0

"What do you mean by that?" Zhou Zhi asked in confusion, looking at Zhou Yan. 0

Zhou Yan understood immediately, but he did not realize his mistake and instead began to pass the ball. 0

"This is clearly Chen Rui's fault! He knows we can't fly the plane; he did it on purpose!" 0

As Chen Rui came to his senses, he couldn't help but mock himself for being foolish. However, self-mockery aside, he felt a bit displeased upon hearing the badmouthing. 0

"What the hell? Can you blame me for this? It was clearly Xue who provoked me!" Chen Rui passed the ball to Li Xue again. 0

"Now you're blaming me..." 0

"Bang bang bang bang..." The gunfire rang out once more. Li Li looked helplessly at the group of 'gods' and sighed, "Can you all distinguish between priorities??? Where are we right now?!" 0

The second volume, 'Dream', finally came to an end! As expected, the entire 'Dream' section was four times longer than Volume One's 'Dream' part! 0

Next, the 'Reality' section of the second volume was about to begin, completely different from the content of Volume One. So everyone need not worry about tedious repetitive plotlines; after all, by the end of Volume One, it was clear that this wealthy group had voluntarily signed the Member agreement, so Chen Rui's work had undergone some changes. 0

In the end, it was anticipated that this volume's 'Dream' section would stretch out to this point. The extensive narrative really took a lot of effort. The entire second volume's dream segment only spanned a brief five days; however, the addition of various details and hidden plots made the chapters swell in length. Although reading each chapter might feel somewhat unsatisfactory, if one were to read all thirty-six chapters of the second volume together, it would definitely be worth it. 0

Once again, thank you to the seventy readers who have accompanied me. Your reading is my greatest motivation! 0
