"Getting married so soon?" Chen Rui held the invitation, looking into Liang Yu's clear eyes, suddenly feeling as if a cabbage he had nurtured for years was being snatched away by a pig.
"My family and the teacher are urging me. It's bound to happen sooner or later. By the way, there's something else—you might need to find a new assistant," Liang Yu said, pulling out a document from her bag and handing it to Chen Rui.
Even though he had guessed what it was, seeing it suddenly made him feel a pang of reluctance to let her go.
Over the past two years, Chen Rui had poured his heart into nurturing Liang Yu from a social student into a capable individual. The thought of her being reassigned brought an unspoken sadness.
The transfer order had already been signed, with Xiang Xiao as the initiator and Zhang Jun as the approver. Chen Rui glanced at it hastily; she was being moved to the Central Decision-Making Department, directly under Zhang Jun's leadership, where even the lowest rank was equivalent to his own B-level position.
"Congratulations! You've been promoted!" Chen Rui said with a smile. "But this doesn't require my consent, right? Zhang has already signed off on it."
"It needs a recommendation from your superior."
Liang Yu pointed at the blank space on the document. "I wonder if the next assistant will be able to handle this responsibility. After all, not everyone is as outstanding as I am."
Chen Rui chuckled helplessly. If the next assistant were just like her, that would give him a headache.
"When do you need this?" Chen Rui asked. Currently, there was no pen in sight, and more importantly, he didn't want to write a recommendation letter for Liang Yu in front of so many people; it would likely be snatched away and read aloud.
"Just give it to me tomorrow; I’ll be officially transferred then."
"So soon?" Chen Rui flipped through the document and suddenly felt something hard inside. He opened it up to find his house key.
It made sense; she was getting married and naturally couldn't maintain such close ties with male friends anymore, especially given their previous superior-subordinate relationship.
"I understand," Chen Rui said, putting away the document and walking to the center of the reception room. The atmosphere immediately cooled down a bit, but seeing that Chen Rui had nothing to say only made the others more boisterous.
"Let's start the meeting now." Chen Rui stopped Liang Yu, who was about to step forward. He needed to take direct control of the team again; otherwise, his little bit of authority would soon vanish.
A serious atmosphere quickly spread throughout the room, and the noise soon subsided.

"Why is it still not over? Wasn't it supposed to be quick?" Chen Rui kicked the corner of the wall in boredom while checking his phone. He was on the third floor of the Business Club, where clients entered their dreams.
For convenience, Counselors waited directly beside each client, so as soon as they exited their dreams, they could immediately receive psychological guidance. Of course, this was often unnecessary.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Li Xue came out and saw Chen Rui kicking the wall, smiling as she asked.
Chen Rui turned at the sound and smiled upon seeing Li Xue. "Aren't I just waiting for you? Why are you all so slow? Didn't you…"
"What didn't I do?" Li Xue replied with a grin, stepping back a few paces to let Chen Rui access the door to the room where she had entered her dream.
As Chen Rui approached, he found a young Counselor staring blankly at him. After a moment, she suddenly snapped back to reality and rushed to his side, wanting to speak but unable to find her voice.
"It's okay, I understand," Chen Rui said, patting the young Counselor's shoulder. This gesture immediately made her burst into tears.
"Alright, alright..." Chen Rui shot a glance at Li Xue. To think she could reduce a psychological expert to this state; that girl really had some skills. But seriously, this Counselor was too inexperienced. Even if you can't attack, at least know how to defend yourself! Li Xue had quickly identified and shattered her psychological barrier—was this person really qualified to be here?
Li Xue flashed a triumphant smile at Chen Rui before playfully running downstairs, leaving him with a Counselor who was clearly struggling with her emotions.
"Are you alright? If you're fine, go do what you need to do," Chen Rui said, not wanting to see someone in such a pitiful state. The delicate features of this Counselor stood out starkly among the rugged members of the Action Team.
Releasing her, Chen Rui also headed downstairs but found that Li Xue had already disappeared from sight.
After reaching the front desk on the first floor and confirming that no one was leaving, Chen Rui began to push open the doors of each room one by one. Since the Business Club was closed at this time, he didn't have to worry about disturbing any guests.
Finally, after confirming that Li Xue was not in any other room, Chen Rui returned to the reception room and leaned against the door, faintly hearing a commotion inside.
When Chen Rui pushed the door open, his eyes immediately landed on Li Xue, and of course, beside her was Liang Yu.
Seeing Chen Rui enter, Liang Yu pulled Li Xue back and walked toward Chen Rui with a bright smile on his face—so bright that it made Chen Rui feel uneasy.
"Isn't this Brother Chen? Back again? Tonight our star attraction, Peng Xian'er, is here to entertain. Are you interested in joining us?"
Liang Yu spoke in a teasing tone, guiding Chen Rui to stand directly across from Peng Hao while pointing at him with a playful smirk.

The reception room erupted with laughter, even Li Xue, who rarely showed a smile in front of others, joined in.
"Get lost! Why am I the only one being made fun of..." Peng Hao, sitting on the sofa, couldn't help but laugh at Liang Yu's antics and scolded him playfully.
"Look, Xian'er is a bit shy... If you miss out tonight, you'll have to wait for another chance."
Chen Rui also found himself laughing despite trying to hold it back. He took a breath and said with a chuckle, "Alright, enough joking around. The meeting is almost over; you all should leave first. I need to discuss some matters with a client, so clear out quickly."
"Hey..."
The good mood was abruptly interrupted, causing everyone's enthusiasm to drop significantly. Naturally, when they resumed their tasks, it was just a half-hearted effort.
Chen Rui chose to ignore them; after all, he was already accustomed to such situations. He looked at Liang Yu and said, "So you're leaving tomorrow, right?"
"Yes, I've packed everything. What, are you going to miss me?" Liang Yu replied with a smile, playfully nudging Chen Rui. This action caught Li Xue's attention, and her expression immediately changed.
Chen Rui noticed the shift in Li Xue's demeanor and explained, "This is my assistant, Sister Liang Yu. She's being transferred by our superiors and will leave tomorrow."
"Assistant?" Li Xue pouted, her eyes narrowing into slits as she spoke in a tone full of implication, "A female assistant, huh..."
"Don't say that. She's getting married soon," Chen Rui said as he pulled out the invitation. Li Xue snatched it from him and opened it. Upon seeing that the groom's name was not Chen Rui's, she shot him a glare and returned the invitation to him.
"Keep it safe! If you lose or damage it, that's disrespectful!"
"Yes, yes..." Chen Rui replied with a wry smile as he tucked the invitation away. He felt helpless against this spoiled princess; after all, she was a client. Who came up with the phrase "the customer is always right"? Chen Rui now wished he could find that person and give them a piece of his mind.
"Oh! Is this your new girlfriend? She's so young!" Liang Yu exclaimed as she hugged Li Xue and looked at Chen Rui with a mischievous grin. "You're really moving up in the world. Little sister, don't be fooled by him; he's a bad egg."
Li Xue pretended to be innocent and asked, "Sister? What kind of bad egg is he?"
"A lecher!"
"That's just male instinct."
"Hanging out with shady friends!"
"Isn't that just emotional investment?"
"He’s too harsh on us!"
"Management of subordinates should be strict; otherwise, discipline will fall apart."
Chen Rui silently applauded Li Xue in his heart. His own leniency had led to a complete lack of discipline within A Group, which had become a prime example of chaos and disorder!
"He's no good at all!" Liang Yu was feeling dizzy from the presence of the 'young' and beautiful 'girl' in front of him, almost unable to distinguish Chen Rui's merits from his faults.

Chen Rui looked at the nearly collapsing Liang Yu and smiled at Li Xue. "Alright, she’ll be transferred soon anyway. Don’t torment her like this."

Watching Li Xue slowly walk toward Chen Rui, Liang Yu stuck out his tongue at Chen Rui and laughed as he led everyone out of the meeting room. Only Chen Rui and Li Xue remained in the room. Chen Rui let out a sigh of relief and smiled.
"Alright, enough with the act."
"How did you know I was acting?"
Li Xue adjusted her hair and looked at Chen Rui, tilting her head in a way that made her look quite charming.
"Do you think you can hide your thoughts from me? You just want to get them out of here quickly without causing a scene, right?" Chen Rui said as he sat down on a nearby chair and stretched lazily.
Li Xue smiled and settled onto Chen Rui's lap, curling up in his embrace.
After a long moment, Chen Rui said lightly, "I'm not Chen Zijing."
"I know," Li Xue replied with a smile.
"Then why are you acting like this?"
"Do you have a wife?" Li Xue turned to look at Chen Rui, their noses almost touching.
"No..."
"Do you have a fiancée?"
"No..."
"Then do you have a girlfriend?"
“…not… at the moment…”
“Then what are you afraid of? Afraid that I’ll eat you?” Li Xue tightened her grip around Chen Rui again, resting her head against his chest.
“I’m really bad,” Chen Rui said with a bitter smile, wondering why this girl just wouldn’t listen.
“Hmm.”
“I’m very lecherous.”
“So am I,” Li Xue replied with a light laugh. “I just like handsome guys, like you.”
“…I’ve had many girlfriends,” Chen Rui attempted to stop Li Xue’s unrealistic feelings with this lie.
“I don’t care…”
“You heard wrong. I mean, I already have many girlfriends… ah ah ah—ouch—sister! Be gentle! Ah ah ah…”
