With that shout, even the Americans who couldn't understand Chinese began to cheer, shouting various phrases to support Chen Rui.
The entire beach became restless because of this event, the atmosphere even more elevated than at noon, with many onlookers gathering closely to witness the proposal.
"Sure." Li Xue, already in tears, finally managed to respond softly. Despite her tear-streaked face, it was clear that the corners of her mouth were lifted high. Her hair, which had been neatly styled, slowly fell down as she tilted her head with a smile.
"My ring?"
Li Xue smiled as she extended her left hand, tears streaming down her cheeks, each drop landing softly on the sand.
Chen Rui chuckled at his own clumsiness and hurriedly retrieved the ring from its box. He took Li Xue's left hand and carefully placed the diamond ring on her middle finger, gently kissing the back of her hand.
Although the surrounding crowd couldn't understand Chinese, they clearly recognized that this beautiful woman had accepted his proposal. Applause and cheers erupted from the onlookers, drawing even more people in, many of whom recorded the entire proposal on their phones.
Chen Rui stood up and gazed at the beauty before him. He brushed his fingers across her cheek and chuckled, "Don't cry; you won't look good if you do."
Li Xue wiped away her tears with her hand, fighting back the urge to cry again. She smiled and asked, "Do I look good like this?"
A few drops of tears still lingered on her cheeks, and her red eyes were filled with unshed tears. Under the sunlight, she appeared almost ethereal, captivating and enchanting.
"Kiss!" A young male voice rang out from the crowd, and the simple, straightforward request sent the onlookers into a frenzy of cheers. The previously calm atmosphere erupted once more into chaos.
Li Xue's face flushed slightly, her eyes fixed tenderly on Chen Rui. She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned in slightly, waiting for that kiss.
Oh dear! Is it foolish to act like a gentleman at this moment? No, even a gentleman should comply with such a request. Besides, I am a gentleman; there's no need to 'act' at all.
Chen Rui smiled lightly, wrapping his arms around Li Xue's waist. He lowered his head and leaned in toward her soft lips.
Li Xue wasn't much shorter than Chen Rui, but her slight forward lean perfectly adjusted their kissing angle, as if they had practiced this move countless times before.

"Alright, it's about time to wrap this up. Look at the scene you've created," Zhou Zhi teased Chen Rui, who was still dazed from the kiss while gazing at Li Xue.
Chen Rui shot him a glare. "Isn't this all your doing? I'm just fulfilling my promise."
"Sure! Taking advantage and then playing innocent—how many are as shameless as you? It was I who created this opportunity for you, yet you don't even appreciate it," Zhou Zhi laughed.
As the crowd began to disperse, losing interest in the spectacle, Chen Rui shrugged it off nonchalantly. However, Li Xue blushed at Zhou Zhi's words and leaned against Chen Rui, quietly giggling.
Watching Li Xue's obedient demeanor made Chen Rui sigh deeply. He smiled wryly; after this incident, she might never be able to distinguish between him and Chen Zijing again. Would that be good for her?
Lost in thought, Chen Rui suddenly noticed Li Li smiling at him—not just at him but specifically at Li Xue leaning against him. Chen Rui felt puzzled. It's one thing for this sister to be infatuated; how could her brother pretend to be confused? I refuse to believe you can't tell me apart from Chen Zijing!
"Alright, there's no need to withdraw now; I still want to ride the speedboat!" Zhou Yan said with a smile, pulling Zhou Zhi's hand as they ran toward the speedboat docked by the beach.
Li Li walked over with a smile and looked at Li Xue, saying, "Don't you want to join in?"

"I really didn't expect her to mean that," Chen Rui said with a wry smile as he sat on the beach. Of course, alongside this legend came Li Xue's personality. She could not possibly be as friendly toward outsiders or clients as she was with this group of people; nor could she maintain the same image in front of Chen Rui. "Yes," Li Li sighed lightly and smiled helplessly. "Even before this, she wouldn't act like this in front of me. But with you... she has absolutely no defenses; she's completely reverted back to that innocent schoolgirl."
Chen Rui felt a sweat break out: "You know that's not about me! Please get it straight!"
After much contemplation, Chen Rui finally spoke up in rebuttal, "No matter what, I am not your old friend. No matter how much I cooperate with you, no matter how deeply that child is entangled, I am just a pawn fighting for this country and this world."
"Hahaha, if you have the ability, catch up with me!"
"Hmph! If you’re so capable, why don’t you pull the lever on your right back?"
Laughter from the girls and the sound of speedboat engines echoed across the sea ahead. It seemed they had no intention of stopping; four speedboats sped past Chen Rui and continued northward.
Li Li watched this scene and smiled knowingly. "It looks like they’re having a great time. Isn’t that good?"
Chen Rui naturally picked up on the underlying meaning in Li Li's words. He shook his head with a smile and sighed, "Can you really deceive your own heart?"
"Oh?"
Li Li was caught off guard by Chen Rui's question. After pondering for a moment, he replied with a smile, "If necessary, I believe I can deceive myself."
"Hmph! Then you truly are heartless," Chen Rui retorted sharply. "Anyway, I can't deceive myself. I won't continue playing along with you..."
Chen Rui left half of his thought unspoken; if he kept playing along, he feared he would get too immersed in it. At that point, he wouldn’t be able to distinguish reality from fiction, and that would truly be unfair to her.
"It seems you really care about her," Li Li said lightly, as if Chen Rui's reaction had been anticipated. He turned to face Chen Rui while sitting down, smiling at him. "Since you care about her so much, why not consider her feelings? Oh, you're thinking about her future feelings, but have you considered her current feelings? To be blunt, if you give up now and ruthlessly shatter this false dream, I guarantee she—my sister—will never stand again."
By the end of his statement, there was a clear hint of anger or even murderous intent hidden behind Li Li's smile. For someone like him—a 'desperate person'—there wasn’t much he couldn’t do. If you touched his bottom line, it would be the end for you.
"So that means I have no choice but to keep playing along with you?" Chen Rui mocked, his eyes showing no fear but rather a warning gaze—like a lion whose territory has been intruded upon, sending chills down one’s spine.
The two of them stared at each other for a while, neither willing to speak first, until they heard the voice again:
"You’re being unreasonable! Yan, you’re being unreasonable! I won’t do it! Let’s go another round."
"Bring it on, who’s afraid of you? Where’s Sister Wang?"

Four speedboats zipped past them once more. Watching the girl’s retreating figure, Chen Rui sighed, stood up, and brushed the sand off his pants. He smiled wryly and said, "For now, let’s leave it at that. After all, you are the clients. What the clients say is like an imperial decree; how could I dare to disobey?"
Hearing Chen Rui's words, Li Li couldn’t help but burst into laughter. "Then how did you just speak to me? Do you want to die?"
