This chapter was rushed this morning. Yesterday was the New Year in the North, and I forgot to wish my friends there a happy New Year. Now, as it's already seven-thirty, I won't ramble on too much. I hope those who enjoy it can support me!
I've been too tired lately to add more updates, but I'll make an effort before the New Year!

Chen Rui brought Fan Yu to the police station. To realistically portray a defector officer, Chen Rui had to arrange everything carefully.
First, Fan Yu could not appear in military uniform; that's obvious. Secondly, Fan Yu's identification documents couldn't be complete, and his suit shouldn't be overly neat to create a disheveled appearance.
Lastly, and most importantly, he needed to slowly make Elephant General and others believe that Fan Yu was a defector without revealing their true purpose.
For these preparations, Chen Rui first dressed Fan Yu in an older suit and then reminded him of some sensitive matters that shouldn't be mentioned. He then sent an FBI agent to accompany Fan Yu and took him to Elephant General's safe house.
"What if we get discovered or caught on surveillance along the way? Aren't you worried at all?" Fan Yu asked with a smile while standing at the foot of the apartment building.
Chen Rui smiled slightly. "If this were the real world, I definitely wouldn't dare to do this. After all, those records from White Wolf terrify me. But in this Dream World, if I want to leave no trace, then there will be no trace of me in this world."
With his worries alleviated, Fan Yu adjusted his slightly wrinkled black suit and walked into the apartment building with a bright smile.
Chen Rui took off his hat and looked at the room on the eighth floor. The strong sunlight reflected off it made it impossible to see what was happening in the living room from this angle. However, Chen Rui could clearly see a figure by the window in the eighth-floor living room.
Since Chen Rui had previously instructed Yu Mingming to render himself invisible, no one except Fan Yu could see him just now! Chen Rui smirked mischievously. "The show is about to begin!"
Arriving at Room 8's door, Fan Yu hesitated for a moment but ultimately pressed the electronic bell.
When the doorbell rang, everyone resting in the living room exchanged puzzled glances and quietly slipped into the rooms.
Chen Rui had been there before; the doorbell would leave a visitor log on the monitoring center's computer, so he never pressed it. Therefore, the person standing outside the door was not Chen Rui, but someone else!
The weapons and boxes had been put away after inspection last night, and no one was carrying anything except for a handgun. Tiger confirmed that everyone had hidden themselves well before slipping his gun into the holster strapped to his ankle and moving to the iron door.
As he peered through the peephole, Tiger thought he must be seeing things. How could the instructor possibly arrive at this time? But after confirming it was indeed him, Tiger immediately opened the door.
The moment he opened it, Tiger noticed that behind the instructor stood a foreigner with golden eyes. The foreigner coldly glanced at Tiger before following Fan Yu into the living room.
Tiger felt a wave of unease wash over him and stammered, "Owl! What are you doing here? Did they send you?"
Fan Yu quickly scanned the living room and noticed many traces left by others. He turned to Tiger and smiled, "Call them all out! There’s an urgent order from above for you! If I wasn't sent by them, how could I possibly enter America? This is our comrade; there's no need to look at him like that. He’s actually of Chinese descent."
Tiger had always been unguarded around Fan Yu. After tapping rhythmically on the wall a few times, Elephant General and others emerged from various bedrooms.
Lion Brother even laughed and scolded from inside his room, "Brother Chen! This is your fault! How could you forget your own words so easily? You..."
As everyone stepped out and saw Fan Yu, they all wore expressions of disbelief. However, once they accepted that this was indeed their former instructor, they began to feel puzzled, especially since a typical American strongman was following Fan Yu.
Fan Yu shrugged, clearly guessing their questions from the expressions of Elephant General and the others. After exchanging a few words with the FBI agent beside him, the strongman stepped outside to wait.
"Why don’t you convey it to them?" Fan Yu lit a cigarette and gestured towards Elephant General while exhaling smoke.
Fortunately, he was indeed the same person as before.
Hearing this, everyone felt as if a weight had been lifted from their hearts and collectively sighed in relief. Tiger rolled his eyes and explained helplessly, "He's here to convey an urgent order from above..."
The Fox frowned, interrupting Tiger's words, and looked at Fan Yu with a stern expression. "Are you conveying orders from above? Where are the orders?"
"Cough, cough..." Fan Yu patted his chest, unable to suppress a laugh at the Fox's words, causing a puff of smoke to choke him.
"Come on, do you really think you can get through U.S. customs with paper documents? Customs checks are getting stricter!" Fan Yu replied with a chuckle. It was only natural that foreigners traveling to the U.S. would face rigorous inspections, and even Americans returning home would be scrutinized more than usual. If such documents existed, they would surely be discovered.
The others clearly realized this as well, glancing worriedly at the Fox, who seemed very dazed and out of sorts today.
The Fox smiled slightly. "Then who is that person outside? Are they part of the organization too?"
"Of course! Don't let his appearance fool you; he's actually of Chinese descent and has been undercover in the U.S. for many years. It was an order from above that led me to find him. I had no idea someone like him existed at first; it was quite difficult to accept. But he is indeed part of the organization," Fan Yu said, extinguishing his cigarette and tossing it into the trash can with a light smile. "Fox, what's up today? You're unusually lively."
The Fox sat down in a chair by the dining table, stretched his neck a bit, and took out his phone to play with it alone. "Nothing much, just didn't sleep well. The previous mission left me feeling on edge."
Elephant General glanced at the Fox and chuckled as he sat down on the sofa. "So why are you here? Is there some urgent mission? It's serious enough for them to send you directly."
Fan Yu suddenly stood up, scanning the six people with a serious expression. "From now on, Operation 'Heartbeat' is halted. You will all take orders from me as we commence Operation 'Blade.'"
"'Blade'? An operation?" White Wolf leaned against the door of the room, intrigued by the term.
Operation 'Heartbeat' was an order issued directly by General Staff and was their only directive received so far. This command came without any detailed instructions; they were told to arrive here by various means and wait for the Liaison Officer.
Chen Rui's explanation of the operation truly deserved the term 'heartbeat,' because if successful, it would force that country's government to announce its defeat. After all, a nuclear explosion with a minimum yield of one hundred million tons could wipe half of that country off the world map.
As for the maximum yield of five hundred million tons... that was not something to consider lightly. If such a yield were detonated, it would undoubtedly plunge the entire Earth into nuclear autumn or even nuclear winter. The entire North American continent would be flattened, and tsunamis caused by the massive explosion would sweep across the Pacific before crashing into China's East China Sea. However, islands like Hawaii, Japan's four main islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Ryukyu Islands would form natural barriers! Thus, the tsunami would not significantly impact inland areas or cause major damage along coastal regions.
This operation could certainly be described as 'heartbeat'!!!
Of course, this entire series hinges on successfully taking the Nuclear Control Center and implementing every step of the plan. Moreover, once they capture the Nuclear Control Center, more mobile units may flood in like a tide, but it is more likely that the government of that country will directly announce their surrender, as they cannot afford such losses.
This action plan was announced by Chen Rui, yet now it was his old superior and instructor who declared its halt. Although there was indeed little hope of capturing the Nuclear Control Center, this confusion left everyone feeling uneasy.
Fan Yu spoke confidently, "In the 'Blade' operation, I will lead you to directly assault the highest command center of the United States after crossing half of America!"
Everyone was taken aback once again. This operation could certainly be described as a blade, but setting aside whether they would attack Washington or the Pentagon located in Arlington County, Virginia, how they would cross such a vast expanse of America was a significant challenge! The current situation made it particularly inconvenient for all Chinese individuals to operate in the United States; every move could potentially attract the attention of the FBI. Moreover, it was utterly absurd to think that just seven of them could launch an assault on the White House or the Pentagon. Even if they had seven stealth helicopters painted with camouflage, they would still be unable to take down any location; they couldn't even breach the outer defenses!
Starting with the White House, its overall defense had undergone a complete upgrade in recent years. The previous human-operated and large-caliber sniper rifle air defense systems had been replaced with automated four-tube micro-missile launchers. Eight of these missile towers were installed on the roof of the White House! Furthermore, due to their stealth camouflage, their locations were virtually undetectable.
The seemingly inconspicuous iron railing on the ground was actually made of double-quenched steel; unless they managed to acquire a tank, there was no way to break through with an ordinary vehicle.
As for the Pentagon, it was even more fortified. Surrounding it were numerous visible and hidden ground defense troops and air defense missiles, making its defenses stronger than those of the White House. A surprise attack was simply impossible; if they couldn't break through the military's firepower net within ten seconds, a barrage from portable missiles would incinerate them all.
Rather than an assault, this felt more like a death sentence!
This operation seemed even less feasible than 'Heartbeat'; with their current weapons and intelligence support, they could not complete this mission.
Fan Yu could not possibly be unaware of the dangers involved in this mission, so why was he able to act so normally?
In the memories of Elephant General and Tiger, Owl had always been one to win by being steady. So why was he taking such risks now?
Doubt spread among everyone’s hearts!
