After dealing with the Beautiful Manager, Tiger and the Fox cornered Chen Rui, their faces filled with shock as they asked, "Why did you come in? Aren't you the project leader? Even a fool can see the flaws now!"
Chen Rui waved his hands lightly and replied, "The situation has changed; the competition has been called off."
"Why was it called off? And if it has been canceled, why are we still here?" Tiger questioned, skepticism written all over his face.
"I can't disclose the specifics, but the competition is indeed over. My task now is to ensure your safe exit from the dream," Chen Rui said with a forced smile. "I'll explain everything further once we return."
Tiger wanted to press for more answers, but a glance from the Fox stopped him. It was clear that Chen Rui was indeed himself and still maintained that proud demeanor that brooked no questioning.
Based on past experiences, since Chen Rui was unwilling to share more at this moment, it would be pointless for them to push further. After all, Chen Rui's judgments had never been wrong until now.
"Then we'll discuss it when we get back!" the Fox said with a mischievous grin, hands on hips and eyes sparkling with delight. "But right now, you're in the shop, and the manager wants us to teach you a lesson!"
Chen Rui couldn't help but twitch his lips at their antics as they slowly closed in on him…

Six hours later…
"Alright! Are there any questions now?" Chen Rui sat on the sand facing the six members of Elephant General who were standing or leaning against various surfaces.
He had just briefly explained the reasons behind recent events, and throughout his explanation, none of the six had expressed any opinions until he prompted them for questions. Only the Fox raised his hand quietly.
"You!" Chen Rui glanced at the Fox, knowing that whatever question he had wouldn't be serious, but he still called on him.
"Were you working at a coffee shop before? How come you're even more skilled than us?" the Fox asked with a hint of grievance. He had initially intended to make things difficult for Chen Rui, but to his surprise, Chen Rui was far more adept at serving than they were. The Beautiful Manager had even teased them about it, leaving both the Fox and Tiger embarrassed to continue working there.
"No..." Chen Rui replied straightforwardly.
The fox's heart raced like a stampede of ten thousand llamas, its smile more grotesque than a cry.
"Why is it that we can't even perceive anything in the dream if it's truly due to a system issue?" asked Elephant General, raising his hand.
"It's normal," Chen Rui patiently explained. "The central Main Computer operates the dream space, but management is handled elsewhere. Even if the management goes offline, the Dream World continues to function without any interference, progressing according to the previously set parameters."
"If that's the case, then we shouldn't be in a hurry. If we just follow the normal mode for a while, we should be able to exit the dream eventually. So why take this risk?" Lion Brother raised his hand to inquire.
Chen Rui shook his head, forcing a smile. "It should have been that way, but the timing is too coincidental. We had just started enhancing the Dream Stream when control was suddenly compromised. If we don't disconnect all of you within nine minutes while still in the dream, the Dream Stream will hit its maximum limit and enter a risk zone. What could happen then is anyone's guess! At that point, even attempting to disconnect would be extremely dangerous because the brain would be under excessive strain. A forced disconnection could lead to irreversible consequences!"
The six listened with pale faces, realizing that given the current situation, it would take at least ten days or more for special forces from various countries to gather enough funds to purchase weapons and equipment! This meant they had no time to proceed with this dream in a normal manner!
"How much money do you all have right now?" Chen Rui suddenly asked without preamble. Elephant General and the others quickly dug into their pockets, pooling all their money into Chen Rui's hands.
As temporary workers with daily wages, their pay wasn't high. After spending most of their savings over the past two days, they had only about one hundred eighty dollars left. Chen Rui frowned at the coins before him; the largest denomination was a fifty-dollar bill, which belonged to the fox.
Chen Rui took that fifty-dollar bill and handed the rest back to Elephant General. "Go buy a handgun; one magazine of bullets will suffice."
Elephant General looked at the one hundred thirty dollars he held and shook his head. "It's going to be tough with this amount; it's just too little."
"Buy a revolver; there should be one priced at one hundred one dollars. Use the remaining twenty dollars for bullets! Buy as many as you can," Chen Rui said impatiently, shoving a handful of coins into Elephant General's hands and waving him off to hurry.
Elephant General hesitated for a moment but ultimately hurried out of the house toward the nearest Gun Shop to purchase that old-fashioned Revolver priced at one hundred ten dollars.
Once Elephant General left, Chen Rui immediately lit a cigarette and took a deep drag, scanning everyone with a smile as he asked, "Want one?"
No one responded. Chen Rui took another deep puff; the smoke brought a faint bitterness to his mouth before he tossed the cigarette into the trash can and swiftly stood up, heading toward the door.
Seeing Chen Rui's reaction, everyone exchanged glances, unsure of what he intended to do, before following him out together.
Chen Rui and the others followed Elephant General to the Gun Shop. After entering, Elephant General quickly emerged holding a revolver in one hand and a box filled with a dark copper metallic glow in the other.
Chen Rui gestured to Elephant General, who immediately ran over and handed the revolver and ammunition to Chen Rui, a wry smile on his face. "This is incredible! This revolver, model 101, comes with nothing extra, yet others complain about my low spending and treat me poorly."
Chen Rui swiftly loaded the bullets into the revolver's chambers, chuckling, "If they had a good attitude, it would be a different story!"
After filling all six chambers, he returned the cylinder to its original position, checked the safety and trigger for proper function, then handed the loaded gun back to Elephant General. "When you hear intense gunfire inside, wait three seconds before rushing in. Eliminate anyone alive except for me!"
"Huh?" Elephant General hadn't fully understood Chen Rui's intentions when Chen Rui straightened his clothes and confidently walked into the Gun Shop.
It was already dark, and the Gun Shop was preparing to close. Some employees had already finished their shifts, so there were hardly any customers left inside. Those who remained didn't react particularly when they saw Chen Rui enter.
Chen Rui approached the rifle counter, stared at a selection of carbines for a moment, then pointed at a 416 Automatic Rifle. "I want to try that one, equipped with an Infrared Sight and Holographic Sight, plus a Non-Slip Grip."
The clerk glanced at Chen Rui lazily and replied, "We're closing soon; come back tomorrow!"
With a smile, Chen Rui pulled out a fifty-dollar bill from his pocket. "I want to try it now. If I like it, I'll buy it right away! Of course, I don't know about this one."
Upon receiving the fifty-dollar bill, the clerk's demeanor brightened immediately. He retrieved a sample gun from the display case and fitted it with an Infrared Sight, Holographic Sight, and Non-Slip Grip before calling another employee to accompany Chen Rui to the Shooting Range.
The other employee led Chen Rui to the Shooting Range and handed him a magazine filled with 5.56 live rounds.
Due to time constraints, only Chen Rui and the accompanying instructor were present in the Shooting Range.
Chen Rui loaded the magazine and took a few short bursts at the target. Confirming that the ammunition functioned properly, he quickly turned around and fired at the instructor behind him. The instructor's expression turned to shock as he collapsed to the ground.
After confirming that the man was dead from his wounds, Chen Rui pushed open the door of the Shooting Range and unleashed a barrage of gunfire into the Gun Shop.
Elephant General and the others crouched at the entrance of the Gun Shop. Hearing the intense rifle fire from inside, they silently counted to three in their minds. Gripping his old-fashioned revolver tightly in his right hand, Elephant General swiftly charged into the Gun Shop.
Inside the Gun Shop stood the only person, raising the 416 rifle in his hand, the muzzle still emitting wisps of smoke, showing no signs of remorse for having ruthlessly killed a total of six people inside the Gun Shop, including customers.
"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and grab the stuff! We need to get out of here!" Chen Rui said, taking the key to the ammunition box from the clerk at the front desk, turning his back to Elephant General.
Chen Rui and his team quickly gathered a batch of equipment, directly taking it in hand as they retreated into the rented house.
"Take a break; we’ll need you for a long haul later!" Chen Rui lit another cigarette and sighed. "Although there are weapons here, there are still very important things we haven't gotten our hands on!"
"What things?" Elephant General asked, looking at the complete equipment with confusion.
"Explosives! A large amount of explosives!"
"Explosives?"
"The Nuclear Control Center is a relic from long ago. Inside, some of the nuclear weapons are fission weapons, which are ordinary atomic bombs. The explosive material used in these fission bombs is Uranium-235 and its isotopes. It must reach critical mass to trigger a chain reaction that leads to an explosion. Therefore, in atomic bombs, the explosive material is divided into several parts, each close to critical mass, wrapped in conventional explosives. When detonated, the outer layer of conventional explosives is ignited first, destroying the barriers between each part of the nuclear material and compressing them tightly together. Once the mass of nuclear material surpasses critical mass, it will produce an uncontrollable chain reaction leading to a nuclear explosion." Chen Rui quickly explained the detonation process of an atomic bomb.
"And the remaining Fusion Weapon, also known as a Hydrogen Bomb, is created using fusion reactions. Its explosive material can be Deuterium and Tritium or Lithium-6 Deuteride. These materials are referred to as thermonuclear materials and have no critical mass limitation; however, thermonuclear reactions can only occur at extremely high temperatures (tens of millions of degrees), which can only be achieved during an atomic bomb explosion."
Chen Rui's words once again shocked everyone, not for any other reason but because they needed to go back and eliminate that Nuclear Control Center!
"In simple terms, a large amount of explosives can forcibly activate all the nuclear weapons inside that Nuclear Control Center!" Chen Rui glanced at everyone coldly as he stated this chilling fact.
