As the sound of the car engine grew closer, a Black Flower-Adorned Float slowly approached, followed by a convoy of similar vehicles.
The Flower Car came to a stop in front of the residential building, and the entire procession halted as well. A group of men dressed in silver suit jackets, each adorned with pink roses on their chests, got out simultaneously.
Seeing this scene, the girls standing in front of Chen Rui struck poses as if to block the road, but their White Tulle Skirts made them lose some of their imposing presence.
"Don't be angry, sisters. Here’s the Red Envelope," a handsome man in a pure white suit with a bright red rose pinned to his chest said as he approached with several men in military uniforms. A Lieutenant pulled out a Red Bag and handed a Red Envelope to the groom, who immediately smiled and distributed the Red Envelopes to the bridesmaids blocking the way. "Sisters, I truly love Liang Yu, so you wouldn't want her to wait too long in that bridal chamber, would you? Hahaha!"
Chen Rui glanced at the handsome man and guessed he was the groom, Wang Zhongshuai. Wang Zhongshuai's first impression on Chen Rui wasn't great; although he was good-looking, he seemed overly slick with his words. It was hard to tell if he was just excited about his big day or if he always acted this way.
The bridesmaids exchanged glances as they received their Red Envelopes. Although they had gotten the envelopes, Liang Yu was still one of their sisters. Letting them through so easily felt like it would be unfair to Liang Yu.
"Hey! Where are your eyes looking? It's not just us girls here! Can't you see there's a handsome guy?" One bridesmaid suddenly remembered Chen Rui's presence and quickly pulled him over as a shield while whispering in his ear, "Do your best to hold them off!"
Come on, I don’t even know them! My relationship with Liang Yu is just that of an ordinary superior and subordinate. Isn't it inappropriate for an outsider like me to block their way?
However, Wang Zhongshuai didn’t seem put off at all. He reached into the red bag himself and handed a Red Envelope to Chen Rui. "You must be Chen Rui? Our Liang Yu has become much more capable under your guidance at work. Please accept this small token of appreciation."

Chen Rui then noticed six burly men in black military uniforms among the Groomsmen; their faces looked so familiar.
"You idiot! What are you shouting for?" Big Dog chuckled as he patted Tiger's back. "Now we’ll have to give out even more Red Envelopes!"
"What are you all doing here?" Chen Rui looked at the six men from Elephant General, who were all wearing wry smiles as they gazed back at him.
The Elephant General and the others were waiting for Chen Rui to return to Beijing. After a day of adjustment, he began his vacation, just in time for Wang Zhongshuai's wedding.
"This is my brother," Lion Brother said as he walked over to Wang Zhongshuai, smiling as he introduced him to Chen Rui. "Zhongshuai is two years younger than me. This is Chen Rui, our..."
Wang Shi, Lion Brother's name, suddenly found himself at a loss for how to introduce Chen Rui. The relationship between Chen Rui and them was too delicate to bring up casually.
"He's our superior," Elephant General said calmly. "We were once under Team Leader Chen's command for a period of time, so he counts as our superior."
"That is indeed the case," White Wolf smiled slightly, and the others nodded in agreement. Even in their dreams, Chen Rui had been their superior. During that time, despite being an inadequate boss, he had taught them many valuable skills and principles.
Wang Zhongshuai's eyes widened as he looked at Chen Rui. He knew his brother served in a special forces unit and that Chen Rui was a mid-level manager at a large State-Owned Enterprise, but he never imagined these two worlds would intersect. He was genuinely shocked.
"Have you forgotten the confidentiality regulations?" Chen Rui immediately adopted a stern expression and coldly addressed Elephant General and the others. His commanding presence startled the six of them into standing at attention, silencing them.
"I did have some interactions with them before, but that was under orders from above. Since everyone knows each other now, I won’t make things difficult for you," Chen Rui said with a smile to Wang Zhongshuai. "You can skip the red envelopes; I just need one thing from you, and then you can go right in!"
Wang Zhongshuai was overjoyed upon hearing this. The reason he had brought his brother today was to avoid any roadblocks. If it were bridesmaids or girls, they would use sweet words and red envelopes to clear the way. If it were men, they would charge through without hesitation! But since the person before him was his brother's former superior, charging through was definitely not an option. Now that Chen Rui had offered to let them pass for just one item, he was thrilled.
"Brother Chen, just tell me what you want! Anything I have or can get my hands on will be yours," Wang Zhongshuai said with a smile.
Chen Rui shook his head, a hint of amusement crossing his lips. "I don’t need anything from you; all I need is for you to leave this red bag behind, and you can go upstairs to find Liang Yu!"
"This..." Wang Zhongshuai was taken aback by Chen Rui's audacity. Just moments ago, he had dismissed the need for red envelopes, and now he wanted all of them! Truly worthy of being their old superior—what a shameless move!
Hmph! Who told you to act so tough? I'll make sure you learn your lesson! Chen Rui glanced at the bag; it clearly contained at least forty or fifty red envelopes—most likely all that Wang Zhongshuai had prepared! Let's see what you use to open the door later!
Wang Zhongshuai glanced at Wang Shi, who gave a slight nod. Wang Zhongshuai then handed the red bag over to Chen Rui. Chen Rui slightly turned aside with a faint smile. "I hope you all move quickly; otherwise, it won't be good if I come back while you're going downstairs."
The groom, frightened, hurriedly dashed into the hallway. The groomsmen, seeing his frantic escape, quickly followed suit, leaving only the bridesmaids and the Elephant General standing at the entrance.
The bridesmaids surrounded Chen Rui, hardly believing that this seemingly college student had the audacity to demand all of the groom's red envelopes. They began to regard him with newfound respect.
Lion Brother approached Chen Rui and patted him on the shoulder. "Brother Chen, you're not someone who covets wealth. Why go through all this?"
Chen Rui looked at Lion Brother in confusion. "Are you stupid? Since I'm here, I naturally have to keep an eye on the bride upstairs. If I can't part with this little bit of money now, what will happen when something really costly comes up later?"
Tiger walked over to Chen Rui, sizing up his outfit with a grin. "Haha, Brother Chen, I didn't expect you to be cut out for espionage! Just changing your clothes makes you look ten years younger!"
Elephant General glanced at the watch and ring on Chen Rui's left hand and asked, "You didn’t come alone today, did you?"
Chen Rui knew that Elephant General had seen through the truth and nodded. "This is all thanks to Li Xue; it's really giving me a headache."
"You even called her by name directly! Are you engaged?"
"Does it look like it?"
"It doesn't just look like it... It seems to me that you are indeed engaged..."

After distributing the red envelopes among the bridesmaids, Chen Rui began to follow Elephant General and the others to catch up with the groom. After all, they were invited guests; it wouldn’t be polite to leave them hanging. Chen Rui simply wanted to witness the lively scene unfolding.
The seven of them took the elevator to the nineteenth floor. The groom and groomsmen had already been waiting at room 191 for a while. No matter how many red envelopes they offered or sweet words they spoke, the door remained stubbornly shut, making the groom increasingly anxious.

"What’s going on?" Wang Shi asked, noticing the anxious expression on Wang Zhongshuai's face.
The groom shook his head. "I don’t know who is inside with Liang Yu, but that girl is really arrogant! She refuses to open the door, claiming the Red Envelope isn’t enough."
Chen Rui thought for a moment and said, "You can't just give a regular Red Envelope; you need to give specific amounts. For example, a combination of nine hundred-dollar bills, nine ten-dollar bills, and nine one-dollar bills."
Wang Zhongshuai still shook his head. "That won't work either. Five hundred twenty, nine hundred ninety-nine, one thousand three hundred fourteen, three thousand three hundred forty-four—none of those will do! We don’t have many Red Envelopes left! I just sent someone to buy more, but they haven't returned yet." After saying that, Wang Zhongshuai cast a resentful glance at Chen Rui, as if blaming him for something.
Chen Rui knew he was in the wrong and smiled wryly as he waved his hand. "Don't worry; the person inside won't care too much about your money; they’ll only care about whether you’re sincere."
Inside the room, by the door:
Li Xue was leaning against the door while Liang Yu stood beside her, both listening for any sounds from outside. "What’s going on? Why is it so quiet now?"
Li Xue glanced at the pile of Red Envelopes, flowers, and love poems that had been pushed through the door and smiled. "Isn’t it enough? It seems he really cares about you."
Liang Yu stuck out her tongue. "I know he cares about me! But I just want to test him and see how long he can hold out!"
Li Xue sighed. "If you keep refusing to open the door and he goes home, you’ll really regret it!"
"He wouldn’t dare!"
Liang Yu shouted towards the door, "Wang Zhongshuai! Do you love me?"
Hearing Liang Yu finally speak, Wang Zhongshuai quickly responded loudly, "Liang Yu, I truly love you!"
"Yet you can't even pass my friend's test! What right do you have to love me?" Liang Yu shouted loudly from inside the room. Upon hearing this, Li Xue immediately punched Liang Yu's shoulder with her small fists. "Ah~! You're throwing the blame on me now!"
"Sister Li, please help me," Liang Yu said with a mischievous grin.
Outside the door:
A Groomsman hurriedly pulled out the largest Red Envelope, its fullness indicating it was indeed the biggest one. "This is the largest; it's five thousand yuan, and there's no way to fit more money in."
"Well, let's give it a try," Wang Zhongshuai said with a wry smile, originally intending to use this for the bridesmaid who was hiding new shoes, but unexpectedly had to use it beforehand.
Chen Rui stood by, watching them stuff an overly plump Red Envelope through the mail slot above the door, silently chuckling without offering any reminders.

The Groomsman rubbed his forehead in disbelief. "Who exactly is this lady? Five thousand yuan isn't even enough for toothpicks?"
Tiger stood behind Chen Rui, unable to contain his laughter, and asked, "Brother Chen, could it be that Sister Li is in there with the bride?"
"Sister Li?" The Groomsman looked at Chen Rui in surprise upon hearing that title. They didn't know anyone with the surname Li, but there was only one well-known and wealthy family in all of China associated with that name...
"I'm not her... Do you really believe me?" Chen Rui said desperately.
