Li Chunbo and the others ran westward, choosing a vantage point for their sniper position after about ten minutes of frantic running.
With two snipers in their Combat Group, their unit held greater value compared to the others, allowing them more options for selecting a position without having to engage the enemy directly.
They settled on a thirteen-story office building known as Boren Business Plaza. This building offered excellent visibility to both the northeast and southeast, and most importantly, it provided a clear view of Linhai Interchange and Jingmen Avenue—two critical roads leading into Tianjin City District.
"This is the spot. Let's head to the top floor and start measuring distances to the traffic routes. Fox! You and Big Dog will handle the defense of Linhai Interchange. White Wolf and I will take care of Jingmen Avenue. Li and Tiger will maintain close-range vigilance!" Lion Brother, as the deputy leader and head of this Combat Group, quickly assigned responsibilities.
Li Chunbo asked, "The view from the platform must be much better than inside the building, and it seems the enemy's Air Force hasn't shown any signs of movement. Why don't we set up our position there first?"
Lion Brother shook his head, immediately dismissing the suggestion. "No, the front line has already collapsed. The enemy's naval aviation will soon be back in action. Setting up on the platform is too dangerous; one missile strike could wipe us out before we have a chance to escape. Besides, look at this building—the windows can be opened, so even if we come under fire, we won't expose our position too quickly."
After that, they rushed into the office building. Fortunately, all residents in the area had already evacuated, so they didn't need to search for anyone left behind to urge them to leave.
Each floor of this office building covered about one thousand square meters and was divided into many offices. This layout posed some challenges for real-time intelligence sharing between the two sniper teams since they couldn't use radios freely at this time.
Once they had chosen their sniper positions, all that remained was to wait for the enemy to appear within sight. The location was approximately eight hundred meters from Linhai Interchange, allowing Fox to push his interception position slightly eastward along G1 Highway.
Lion Brother didn’t have such favorable conditions; he was already far from Jingmen Avenue, with two residential areas blocking his line of sight. Thus, he could only aim straight northward, using Taihu Road to suppress any enemy forces passing through Jingmen Avenue. Even so, there was still over fifteen hundred meters of distance.
Although his sniper rifle had a maximum effective range of two kilometers, factors like humidity, fog, and low light made it risky to attempt hitting a moving target at such a distance now—it would certainly showcase his exceptional sniping skills if he succeeded.
The enemy moved quickly; within ten minutes, they appeared in Fox's line of sight. However, he refrained from pulling the trigger since the enemy had not yet engaged with other urban defense units. Shooting now would easily expose their sniper position.
So he continued observing the enemy movements alongside Big Dog. After breaching the first fortified defense line, although their Main Battle Tanks suffered heavy losses due to explosives buried in front of the bunkers, their troop carriers managed to preserve most of their soldiers. Now, armed soldiers were advancing steadily toward their direction.
Fox waved his hand without looking up at Li Chunbo and said, "Go report to Lion Brother that most of the enemy soldiers have disembarked from their armored vehicles; we can deliver a decisive blow."
Although Li Chunbo and Tiger's mission was to remain vigilant, their primary task was to serve as messengers between the two sniper teams until the enemy advanced to a relatively close distance.
Li Chunbo quickly ran to the office in the northeast corner and saw Lion Brother in a strange position. Lion Brother and White Wolf had pushed the desk to the window, opened it slightly, and set up their sniper rifles on the desk. However, due to the height of the desk, Lion Brother found himself in an awkward position, unable to crouch or stand comfortably, and had to lean forward with his rear end sticking out to aim.

"Damn it! Forget what you just saw!" Lion Brother said with a frown.
After Li Chunbo relayed Lion Brother's orders to Fox, Fox noticed that the enemy was being ambushed by their forces. After suffering a few casualties, they quickly sought cover to retaliate.
Seconds later, they were struck again from another direction, causing the enemy to scatter and regroup for a counterattack as individuals.
This met Fox's conditions for an effective attack. In such an environment, even if his bullets blew off an enemy's head, few would notice the presence of a sniper. Even if they did realize it, they wouldn't be able to pinpoint his location in a short time.
However, Fox found it impossible to meet another requirement from Elephant General. The enemy's military ranks were located at the collar of their uniforms, but there were no strict regulations on how they wore them during combat. Most soldiers wore their collars open and carried tactical backpacks on their backs.
As a result, their ranks were completely obscured by the straps of their tactical backpacks, making it impossible for Fox to identify them. Therefore, he shot at anyone he saw and prioritized those who displayed superior tactical movements or appeared older.
Fox knew that this meant he was mostly targeting older Sergeants; true commanders were unlikely to be among his kills. But it was a necessary approach—when unable to lock onto a commander, he still had to strike at higher-value targets.
After all, a Sergeant's value was certainly greater than that of a private or junior soldier.
Suddenly, the Fox noticed that the enemy's advance had accelerated significantly. He immediately stopped firing and aimed his scope at the enemy's reinforcements, furrowing his brow.
The enemy's self-propelled artillery and light tanks had caught up with the initial troops, which explained why the defending forces engaged in urban combat were suddenly collapsing.
Any unit would appear powerless when faced with an enemy one rank higher, let alone self-propelled artillery and light tanks, which were not just one but two or three ranks above ordinary infantry!
"Report to Lion Brother immediately! The enemy's reinforcements have arrived, and we can currently observe self-propelled artillery and light tanks that have inflicted severe damage on our urban combat personnel," the Fox said, turning to look directly at Li Chunbo, his eyes filled with anger and helplessness.
Li Chunbo nodded and quickly ran to the office in the northeast corner, shouting, "Report! Enemy reinforcements have been spotted. We can currently observe self-propelled artillery and light tanks that have caused significant casualties among our urban combat units."
Lion Brother frowned slightly but did not respond directly. Instead, White Wolf spoke up. "With our current equipment, we cannot deal with them. Even if we had anti-tank weapons, exposing ourselves while countering their attacks would make this position untenable."
Lion Brother looked at White Wolf and asked, "What is your suggestion?"
White Wolf shook his head. "I'm not ignoring the situation. Besides, if we do nothing, we will eventually be bombarded by their artillery. What I mean is that our sniper rifles are equipped with laser guidance systems!"
"Using radio communication would directly expose our coordinates!" Lion Brother questioned. "The enemy's Grenade artillery might reach us faster than our anti-tank missiles."
White Wolf shrugged. "The enemy's Grenade artillery will come sooner or later, but our anti-tank missiles may not arrive in time, so..."
Lion Brother sighed and pulled out his radio transmitter. "This is Defense Unit 19! Calling Unit 14. Over!"
Shortly after, a clear response came through the radio. "This is Unit 14! Unit 19, please report your situation! Over!"
Lion Brother took a deep breath and said urgently, "We have spotted enemy reinforcements consisting mainly of self-propelled artillery and light tanks, along with some Main Battle Tanks. They have caused severe casualties among our urban combat units. We request long-range strikes against the enemy. Our unit has laser guidance systems and is currently on the front line. Over!"
"Unit 19, please hold on. Your information is being reported. Over!"
Not long after, a voice came back from the intercom, "Unit 19, my unit has agreed to carry out a remote strike on the enemy. Please send the specific coordinates. Over!"
"Real-time coordinates 11779816, 915. The target is moving, so please execute the strike as soon as possible. My unit will use laser guidance to attack the enemy tanks. Over!"
"Coordinates confirmed. Four anti-tank missiles are about to launch, arriving in approximately fifty seconds, with a fifteen-second delay upon arrival. Over!"
"Received! Over!"
Turning off the radio, Lion Brother looked at Li Chunbo and smiled lightly. "What are you still doing? Hurry up and notify Fox to prepare for laser guidance! Also, after the laser guidance, we will definitely be exposed here, so you and Tiger need to prepare an evacuation route quickly. We must be ready to relocate at any time!"
"Understood!" Li Chunbo saluted and quickly ran back to the office where Fox was.
"The anti-tank missiles are about to arrive; get ready for laser guidance!" Li Chunbo urged.
Fox looked at Li Chunbo and pointed downstairs.
