Chen Rui was known to be the Security Director of Dream Group and the highest authority of the Fourth World Project Team, a fact well recognized by anyone following the gaming world. Therefore, any news that came from Chen Rui's mouth held almost as much credibility as an official announcement.
As expected, the 800,000 login qualifications had been gradually selected from various gaming platforms. However, this number was far from satisfying the players.
With a global population of 6.5 billion internet users, at least 5 billion were interested in this game world. This made the odds of winning incredibly low, with an average of one in every 6,250 people obtaining a login qualification. Thus, those who secured a spot were undoubtedly lucky.
Of course, the official Dream Control Center was not foolish enough to rely solely on this method; they needed to find ways to maintain the enthusiasm of those who did not win. So, on the day before these 80 players logged in, the game was taken offline for a day while the Control Center's Technical Team conducted a comprehensive upgrade, transitioning from version 14 directly to version 0.
This upgrade not only expanded the map and optimized various aspects but also focused on unlocking race restrictions. This meant that newly created game accounts could choose non-human races for gameplay.
Currently, aside from humans, the unlocked races included Elves, Orcs, Giants, Goblins, and Dragons. Additionally, the second special class within the Human Race, Rune Master, had also been unlocked.
To ensure game balance, non-human races could only be selected randomly. This meant that players might not get their desired race; for instance, one might wish to become an Elf but end up being selected as a Goblin instead.
After the random selection, players could choose between humans and their selected race. However, once a character was created, the race could not be changed.
This approach was also intended to guarantee an advantage for humans in the early stages of the game. After all, humans were currently supported entirely by the Tang Empire, while Elves and Dragons ranked second in terms of territory and military strength. If too many players joined these two races, it was likely that human civilization would face extinction even before entering open beta.
The special classes for humans were randomly selected after character creation. The probability of generating a Mage as the first special class was about one in a thousand, while the chance for Rune Master as the second special class was around three percent.
What delighted human players most was that after version 0 went live, all non-special class human characters would undergo a "baptism," meaning that Mage and Rune Master legacies would once again be bestowed upon some lucky individuals.
The introduction of a multi-race system and new dungeons also had those unable to log into the game eagerly anticipating its public release.
The live broadcast of Game World was as popular as expected since it was the only platform globally that offered real-time coverage of Dream Game World and was produced by Dawn Media. The most crucial point was that those unable to log in could only learn about game developments through this platform; other platforms had at least a twelve-hour delay.
However, reactions regarding special guest Chen Rui were not very positive. In this entertainment program, Chen Rui often appeared stern and serious; although he occasionally revealed some insider information, his cold demeanor made it hard for anyone to smile.
Taking advantage of this break time, Hao Jinguang urgently convened a Planning Team meeting and invited Chen Rui to attend and provide input. The final consensus reached was not to abandon Chen Rui but rather to arrange for him to partner with Han Mu Yu within Dream Game World.

Beside the Command Center of the Dream Game World Control Center, Chen Rui elevated Li Zheng's rank to the highest level he could adjust. "I really can't manage this anymore, so this burden is entirely on you now!"
Seeing Li Zheng's distressed expression, Chen Rui joked, "You better make good choices! If you drop the ball, I won't let you off the hook! But if there's a major issue you can't resolve, just come find me in the Connection Zone above."
Li Zheng looked at Chen Rui, slightly opening his mouth as if to say something, but ultimately couldn't find the words. He simply nodded silently.

Inside the Giant Tower, there was a designated Connection Zone for staff to enter the Dream World. The Connection Zone was decorated like a hotel, with individual rooms divided into the Common Dream Entry Area and the Deep Sleep Zone.
Since Chen Rui didn't need to stay in the dream for long, he chose the common area. He obtained a key card from the front desk and found his room. After entering, he lay on the bed and put on the Connector.
Suddenly, a voice in his mind warned him not to enter the dream, continuously shouting as if it were his innermost consciousness realizing something was wrong within the dream. However, Chen Rui still pressed the activation button.
"Welcome to Dream World: Fourth World. Your ID has been recognized; entering game now."
"No existing character detected. Please create a character first!"
Chen Rui looked at the random selection of races before him and felt a bit apprehensive because he had always been unlucky; good fortune never seemed to favor him.
"Hopefully, I won't end up as a goblin!" Chen Rui chuckled bitterly at himself and pressed the random selection button.
Several characters began to spin rapidly around him, gradually slowing down until they finally settled on one that made Chen Rui question whether he was hallucinating.
The character that stopped before him was a randomly selected elf and an alternate Human Race option.
With mixed emotions, Chen Rui chose the elf race. After successfully creating his character, he stared at the character information in astonishment for quite some time.

Since the launch of version 0, there have been significant changes in character registration. If it were a Human Race character, it was possible that the character itself could be a general or an official.
The same goes for other races, but it is extremely rare for a character to appear with such high status; the probability is almost as low as hail falling in the Northern Hemisphere during May.

Chen Rui thought for a moment. He initially wanted to use his real name but feared it might cause controversy. After some consideration, he realized he was quite poor at naming things, so he simply typed in the English name from his passport—HEN-ZIJING.
Upon entering the game, Chen Rui found himself in a brand new Starting Location, the capital city Selva of the Hill Kingdom, home to the elves. All players entering the game as elf characters would start in this Starting Location.
Chen Rui's identity was not ordinary, but from his attire, he did not seem much different from others. However, when he pulled out the pouch from his waist and took a look inside, he immediately understood the value of his identity.
In this game world, due to differences in race, culture, and region, the currencies used varied greatly. However, the most widely circulated currencies were the copper coins, silver ingots, and gold ingots used by the Tang Empire.
The pouch Chen Rui carried was filled with gold coins from the Hill Kingdom, along with some silver and gold ingots. Just these alone would make countless players envious.
The Hill Kingdom was not adjacent to Chen Rui's home kingdom of Salaman. Moreover, it lay between Salaman and the Tang Empire. Therefore, Chen Rui decided not to head directly to Yongan City; after all, Han Mu Yu was there for now. He would first figure out the world’s dynamics before making any moves.
In this world, elves do not have wings and therefore cannot fly. Their speed of movement cannot compare to that of the dragon race, so they can only rely on equine transportation for quick mobility.
Chen Rui had originally planned to see if there were any spells to increase movement speed, but instead, he accidentally conjured a Fireball and nearly got caught by Selva's guard troops.
After stepping outside the city and taking a look, he understood that in this game, special non-physical attack methods like magic are basically cast through chanting foreign languages, most of which are unfamiliar to players.
Take a mage class Chinese player as an example: if this player is proficient in Chinese and English, the system will treat languages like German and Russian as casting languages, requiring the player to learn those languages. The better the player learns, the faster they can cast spells and the higher their spell levels will be.
The same goes for Rune Masters; the system will automatically select a language that the player has never learned as their runic language. The better they write, the more powerful their runes become...
"Wow! Who designed this?" Chen Rui laughed heartily while looking at the game guide. "I can't imagine how many students will start cramming foreign languages now."
This also balanced the gap between different classes. Mages and Rune Masters inherently possess more combat power than ordinary people, but if they only know entry-level spells or runes, they would certainly struggle against powerful swordsmen or assassins.
