"I'm not mute, how could I possibly not talk!" The girl, well, the Loli, was just like that.
Most of the Brats in the classroom had run outside to go wild, leaving very few people behind. Those who remained were fiddling with their belongings, like phones, phones, and more phones!
"Do you know what this is?" The Black-Haired Loli extended her delicate right hand, exposing the back of her hand to Chen Fan's gaze.
That fair hand rested on Chen Fan's desk, just two fingers away from his face, a faint scent of milk wafting through the air, causing Chen Fan, who was leaning on the desk, to suddenly sit up.
"It's just a hand... a hand... wait, this is a command seal!" Chen Fan exclaimed as he raised his head, his eyes wide. He felt like he had walked into the wrong scene; this was definitely the Marvel Universe! How did this thing come out of here?
Director! Screenwriter! Are you secretly changing the script again? Don't you care at all!
"What command seal?" The Black-Haired Loli asked with an ethereal expression. The markings on her hand were merely ordinary runes for sun protection; could they have another purpose? Why was this person, who exuded an aura that frightened her, so shocked?
Soon enough, the Black-Haired Loli was bewildered as Chen Fan began to rattle off questions like a machine gun firing without pause.
"Where is the Holy Grail War?"
"Who is the Heroic Spirit you summoned?"
"How many have you lost so far?"
"Is there a Dandere King, Gilgamesh, or a Lancer? Do you know Shirou? By the way, he's a scumbag; stay away from him—he's a Loli enthusiast!"
"What are you talking about! I didn't understand a single word!" Under Chen Fan's eager gaze, the Black-Haired Loli replied indifferently, "I do know about the Holy Grail; it's currently housed in the British Museum. As for Heroic Spirits, they're probably things that evolved from deceased souls? Beyond that, I don't understand."
"And... what does all this have to do with the sun protection rune on my hand?"
In the Black-Haired Loli's eyes, Chen Fan's excited expression suddenly froze. He stared at her blankly and stammered, "This is a sun protection rune?"
"Yes! A sun protection rune!" The Black-Haired Loli replied calmly.
She was a bit confused about what was so shocking about a sunblock talisman. For ordinary people, it might be fine, but Chen Fan was someone whose presence she felt was beyond her comprehension.
How could someone like him be astonished by an ordinary talisman? It didn't make sense!
She should have been mistaken. Black-Haired Loli shook her head. From her perspective, there was a tremendous power continuously gathering within Chen Fan, and around him was an aura that felt strangely familiar.
The classroom's right rear corner, adjacent to the window, was Chen Fan's seat. During their conversation, no matter how intense the voices and tones were, not a single person approached them; there wasn't even anyone peeking in.
Chen Fan noticed this situation and guessed it was likely due to his deskmate, Black-Haired Loli. He didn't mind and didn't delve into her secrets; as an anomaly, she must possess some special power.
Perhaps it was her ability that made others ignore them?
"What use does this sunblock talisman have? And why are you telling me all this? Aren't you afraid I'll expose you?" Chen Fan curiously examined Black-Haired Loli. In the Marvel Universe, there was no shortage of individuals with powers; it wouldn't be strange if someone suddenly appeared beside him.
"The sunblock talisman is naturally used to shield against sunlight. As for why I'm telling you..."
"That's because you're the first kindred spirit I've encountered," Black-Haired Loli said, her lavender eyes flickering slightly, her delicate face revealing a complex expression. "And you won't expose me because even if you did, no one in this world would believe you; they'd just think you're crazy."
Chen Fan twitched his mouth. Kindred spirit? What kind of joke was that? Writer, do you know what you're doing?
"I'm not from this world just like you. The aura you carry that feels out of place is proof!" Black-Haired Loli's cool voice reached Chen Fan's ears, stirring up turbulent waves in his calm heart.
"What exactly are you?" Chen Fan glanced around. The lively scene contrasted sharply with his isolated position, as if the space he occupied had been cut off from this world. No matter what happened here, it wouldn’t attract anyone's attention.
"Wardski Baken Transcender LLC," Black-Haired Loli replied lightly, her gaze fully focused on Chen Fan's face. When she saw his bewildered expression, she smiled. "Looks like you came here the same way!"
What had started as mere suspicion now solidified into certainty for Black-Haired Loli; she was sure that Chen Fan, like her, did not belong to this world.
As for Chen Fan, upon hearing that name, he felt utterly unwell. The current situation became clear: his deskmate was also someone who had crossed over and the company responsible for their crossing belonged to the same entity.
"Wardski Baken Transcender LLC!"
"Hello, my name is Kanda Nanami!"
The Black-Haired Loli smiled lightly. In truth, the moment she laid eyes on Chen Fan, she sensed something unusual about him. However, at that time, her own transcender gift package had not yet arrived. To avoid unnecessary trouble, she decided to wait until her package was fully credited before preparing to confess to Chen Fan.
Yet, just as she was ready to verify her suspicions with Chen Fan, he had already been taken to S.H.I.E.L.D. and was only released today, leading to this moment.
"When did you arrive?" Chen Fan asked, wanting to confirm the timing of their arrival in this world.
"A month ago; I should have arrived at the same time as you," Kanda Nanami replied, her brow slightly furrowing. She hadn’t crossed over due to an accidental death or anything of the sort. If given a choice, she would have preferred to avoid such an absurd event altogether. Looking at the troubled expression on his face, she continued, "From your appearance, you seem to know a lot about this world. Can you tell me what kind of world this is?"
Kanda Nanami's question surprised Chen Fan. From her name, he associated her with an Island Nationer. Observing her complete lack of understanding about this world made him think of one word: another world!
"This is a chaotic world with a complex and ever-changing power system. It's difficult to grasp everything at once, and I don’t know much either!" Although they were both transcenders and shared a sense of kinship, Chen Fan wasn’t foolish enough to reveal his cards for no reason.
After listening for a while and waiting for Chen Fan to finish speaking, a glimmer flickered in the depths of the Black-Haired Loli's eyes. She didn’t believe his words nor did she deny them; in her view, Chen Fan’s response was merely dismissive and provided little useful information.
"Thank you for the information. I hope we can coexist peacefully in the future; I don't want us to become enemies!" Kanda Nanami said earnestly. This was the truth—she didn’t know what abilities Chen Fan possessed, but she could sense that he was very strong—much stronger than her!
"I don’t want that either!" Chen Fan replied with a wry smile.
Who could have predicted that they would encounter another transcender in the same world? This world was truly bizarre!
Transcenders were rare commodities; running into one right after stepping out was frustrating for Chen Fan. "Damn Transcender Company! Don’t they know they should distribute personnel according to worlds?"
In a daze, the feeling of isolation faded away, and the classroom returned to its previous state. The lively chatter filled Chen Fan's ears again, prompting him to turn and look at the Black-Haired Loli. She still wore an expression that suggested no one should approach her.
It seemed that strange state had been lifted. Chen Fan pondered while pinching his chin; under these circumstances, he felt it would be inappropriate to continue asking Kanda Nanami other questions.
As the recess time slowly passed, the moment the bell rang, the Brats scattered in the corners returned to their respective places.
Of course...
Those who wanted to play were still playing. To the Brats, school was nothing more than a specially built entertainment venue!
Chen Fan could feel a mysterious gaze occasionally sizing him up. Without looking, he knew who it was— that Loli who had confessed to him.
"You really do attract the Lolies!" Kanda Nanami said with a smirk, a playful glint in his eyes as if mocking him. "Let me count; this should be the seventeenth Loli confessing to you, right?"
Chen Fan raised his head irritably. "Aren't you a Loli too? Are you trying to be the eighteenth?"
"Hehe—!" A wisp of dark energy emanated from Kanda Nanami, visible only to Chen Fan. It sent a shiver down his spine as he thought, "Damn, he has a dark transformation skill! I hope I won't be silenced!"
Fortunately, at that moment, the fire-fighter—uh, the People's Teacher—arrived.
"Students, class is starting now. We have an activity today that I believe you have been looking forward to for a long time. So... the surprise test begins! Class monitor, please distribute the test papers to everyone!"
"Class monitor?"
"Class monitor...?"
"Alright! Mr. Chen Fan... please distribute the test papers!"
