The aura of the Demon King of Instant Noodles was so overwhelming that even Peter was taken aback. He had anticipated that Chen Fan would be formidable, but he never imagined it would be this terrifying!
Dark clouds obscured the sun, and the deafening roar of thunder echoed continuously.
The apocalyptic scene that had briefly flashed over the American Queen District now descended once again upon this Island Nation.
Coulson wiped the cold sweat from his brow. Thanks to Chen Fan's special consideration, he felt relatively little pressure. Looking at the young figure possessed by what seemed like a demon king, Coulson began to understand why S.H.I.E.L.D. rated Chen Fan as SSS level, two levels higher than that of Magneto, a notoriously brutal individual.
After venting his frustrations, Chen Fan chose not to continue. He suppressed his aura slightly, and the external disturbances vanished in an instant.
Seiichiro took a deep breath, his gaze toward Chen Fan now tinged with a hint of fear. He bitterly smiled as Zhuoben Qingyuan's warning not to entertain other guests echoed in his mind.
"I will present my highest level of cuisine!" Seiichiro motivated himself. The thought of cooking ignited a surge of strength within him, dispelling the oppressive feeling. Turning away, he wore a wry smile; was this self-inflicted? He chuckled softly.
Moments later, an enticing aroma wafted from the kitchen, filling the entire restaurant with a unique scent created by the dishes.
While Chen Fan awaited the delicious meal, chaos erupted across the world. The cause was the sudden appearance of thunderclouds that enveloped the entire Island Nation, bringing forth apocalyptic imagery.
The Island Nation Special Response and Abnormal Handling Intelligence Agency was currently engulfed in unprecedented busyness; even blind men could sense the turmoil.
"Seven Streams Shelley, have you identified the cause of the anomaly?"
Director Kuyou Susano, a man known for his strong-handed approach, found himself exhausted and weary after several frustrating encounters in such a short time.
Whether it was monsters threatening to destroy the Earth or an influx of transitional ability adaptation cases, along with bounty hunters, assassins, and agents arriving in droves, all these drained his energy to near depletion.
"Director Kuyo, it seems that the source of this anomaly is related to the Thunder Lord from America. Such phenomena were recently observed in the American Queen District, triggered by this Thunder Lord!"
The voice of a woman carried a tone of bitter amusement as she recalled having warned this gentleman not to use his abilities in the Island Nation just half an hour prior. Yet upon returning to headquarters, she encountered such a scene.
"Notify United States S.H.I.E.L.D. to handle this; international disputes are not our responsibility!" Kuyou Susano gazed at the information projected on the screen, unable to believe what he saw. Reflected in his eyes was a ten-year-old boy—the SSS-level Thunder Lord that America had positioned on the world stage as a strategic weapon.
Hearing her director's words, Seven Streams Shelley rolled her eyes. What did he mean by "not our responsibility"? It was precisely because they couldn't handle it that they were passing it off to S.H.I.E.L.D.!
Since her director had spoken, Seven Streams Shelley relayed this matter to S.H.I.E.L.D., quickly receiving a response.
"I have already informed United States S.H.I.E.L.D. about the situation, but..." Seven Streams Shelley brushed her hair tips and felt a headache coming on as she looked at the English letters typed on the tablet.
"But what?" Kuyou Susano furrowed his brows.
"They replied that the incident was caused by us, so they won't intervene! Moreover, if we treat Thunder Lord unfriendly, the consequences will be our own responsibility!" Rubbing her smooth forehead, Seven Streams Shelley could imagine the impact of her words. If they were to deal with Thunder Lord, the entire country would likely face its toughest challenges.
"This is a threat!" Kuyou Susano gritted his teeth, a fierce expression crossing his face. With a crack, the cup in his hand shattered instantly.
"That's right, it's a threat. I suggest you give the order to lead all combat personnel to capture Thunder Lord!" Seven Streams Shelley spoke in a serious tone, looking at the dark and somewhat ferocious Kuyou Susano.
"Alright! Let's do it!" Kuyou Susano's eyes widened, a fierce glint flashing in them; he had been suppressing himself for too long.
"Understood, I will immediately convey your decision, Director!" Seven Streams Shelley replied, but then added, "Before I relay the order, may I ask how many coffins your wallet can buy? Our country has over two hundred million people."
As soon as those words left her mouth, Kuyou Susano calmed down. He looked at his extremely cunning subordinate with eyes that clearly said, "Are you kidding me?"
"Do we still need to convey the order?" Seven Streams Shelley asked with a smile.
Kuyou Susano glared fiercely at her after holding back his anger. Looking around at several people shaking their shoulders in suppressed laughter, he slammed his hand on the table in frustration: "What’s there to convey? I still want to live a little longer!"
"Forget it! Whoever wants to take charge can do so!"
With that, Kuyou Susano stormed out of the command room, feeling frustrated. He thought to himself that no one else in the world could be as stuck as he was in this position...
If this were to reach Director Fury, he would surely draw his gun in anger and say, "Are you more frustrated than I am?"
After Kuyou Susano left the command room, everyone remaining let out a sigh of relief. The director had been particularly irritable lately; just seeing that dark face brought immense pressure.
"Alright everyone, continue monitoring the domestic situation. As for Thunder Lord, I'll go see what exactly triggered this incident!" After a long sigh, Seven Streams Shelley tossed her hair back and headed toward the site of the anomaly with a wry smile.
Although it had only erupted suddenly and then disappeared, no one could predict whether it would erupt again next time—not in the air but on the ground.
...
In a shopping district, at Seikyou Restaurant—
"Please enjoy... Seven Treasures Mountain Delicacy with Snow Frog!" Seiichiro Sukiyabashi said nervously as he placed the dish on the table. If this meal couldn't appease her, his family would surely face dire consequences.
"Silphy, give it a try!" Chen Fan smiled as he slid the plate in front of Maid Sister.
His anger was not without reason; just moments ago, Maid Sister had been in a state of mental distress. If she were to explode, she might not end up in a vegetative state, but a complete mental breakdown was certainly a possibility.
Maid Sister wasn't merely suffering from mild paranoia; the doctor had assessed her condition as severe. Under normal circumstances, she would have been monitored and treated independently.
However—
Who in this world would dare to do that?
Coulson and Peter exchanged glances, relieved that nothing irreversible had occurred.
Recalling the terrifying aura from earlier, Peter began to understand why his ability rating at S.H.I.E.L.D. was an A Rank. Reflecting on Chen Fan's earlier demeanor, Peter silently resolved never to cross paths with him again; it was simply too frightening!
Just being overwhelmed by that presence had rendered him immobile, and Peter never wanted to experience that feeling again!
