Stark Industries Top Floor.
As Chen Fan entered the top-floor residence of Tony, he realized what true technology meant the moment he stepped through the door.
In the realm of scientific research and technology, one name stands out in the Marvel Universe: Tony Stark, the narcissist whose popularity has skyrocketed globally thanks to his identity as Iron Man.
“Hello, Mr. Chen Fan! I am the boss's assistant, Artificial Intelligence J.A.R.V.I.S.!”
Upon entering the living room, a holographic image appeared before Chen Fan, a head composed of data greeting him.
Faced with the sudden appearance of the model head, Chen Fan waved his hand and shattered it. Instantly, the entire living room sparkled with a multitude of flowing particles, causing Tony, who was about to inquire about the boy's purpose, to tense up.
This brat is not easy to deal with!
With a bright smile, Tony asked, “What brings you here?”
Knowing that Chen Fan had come to see him meant that things were unlikely to be simple; he sensed trouble was on the horizon.
The boy casually walked over to the sofa in the living room, stretched lazily, and wore a faint smile on his exquisite face. “Recently, I acquired a Floating Aircraft Carrier. Unfortunately, it's just an experimental model; aside from being used for display purposes, it has little practical use.”
Noticing Tony's frown, the boy continued, his gaze intense: “I came to ask if you could help me modify it into a versatile aerial base for combat!”
Upon hearing the boy's words, Tony's eyes flickered.
Modifying a Floating Aircraft Carrier might be somewhat troublesome for him, but it was merely a matter of inconvenience—not something particularly difficult.
Meeting Chen Fan's gaze, Tony replied nonchalantly, “I can help you modify the carrier, but what's in it for me? I don't do free labor!”
Now that this brat was seeking his help, how could Tony let such an opportunity slip away?
The boy in front of him was the kind who could stomp his feet and make the entire Earth tremble!
“How about I owe you a favor?” Chen Fan smiled, this was the only thing he could offer.
Money? Tony had no shortage of that. Influence? He had half of America’s capitalists backing him, which was even more powerful than S.H.I.E.L.D.!
Even among the upper echelons of America, many stood behind Tony!
Chen Fan's words lit up Tony's eyes, sweeping away his gloomy aura as he laughed, “No problem, leave the aircraft carrier to me. I guarantee I can completely crush S.H.I.E.L.D.'s carrier!”
The boy smiled; this was exactly what he wanted to hear.
In terms of technology, Tony was at least twenty years ahead of S.H.I.E.L.D. Creating an aircraft carrier that could dominate the other side would be a piece of cake.
“Sir! Mr. Obadiah has arrived!” J.A.R.V.I.S.'s voice echoed in the living room, projecting an image from the lower level.
A big bald man, surrounded by a group of bodyguards in black suits, was making his way to the elevator.
“What does this guy want again?” Tony frowned as he looked at that shiny head, his previously uplifted mood sinking once more.
Though he said that, Tony knew very well why the other party had come knocking.
He would never reopen the weapons project; the shadow of nearly dying from his own developed weapons in Afghanistan was something Tony figured he would never forget!
“Tony, open the door for me. We need to have a serious talk!” Soon, Obadiah's voice rang out from outside the door. Upon learning that Tony was at Stark Industries, he hurried over.
“J.A.R.V.I.S., open the door,” Tony said with a frown.
As the door swung open, Obadiah rushed in, flanked by bodyguards. Upon seeing Tony, he immediately spoke up, "Tony... stop being so stubborn. Do you have any idea how much Stark Industries' market value has dropped since you shut down the weapons development and sales division?"
"Ten percent!"
"That's a loss of over a hundred billion dollars!"
Tony paid no mind to this statement. While it was true that Stark Industries would suffer losses without weapon projects, the development of new energy sources would surely multiply the market value many times over.
"Obadiah, just go back. I will never reopen the weapons division. Do you know what it felt like to almost die from my own creations in Afghanistan? Can you even imagine?"
Every time he thought about that incident, he felt a suffocating sensation.
His proud invention had turned against him.
Damn!
Was there anything more absurd than that?
"Tony, I know you're upset, but it was just an accident. You have to understand how many billions we lose each year by shutting down the weapons project—three hundred thousand US dollars!"
Obadiah tried to console him. As he looked at Tony's face, his eyes flickered slightly, and his tone shifted as he continued, "Because of your stubbornness, many shareholders on the board are getting restless. If I hadn't been keeping things under control, Stark Industries might have split up by now!"
With a look of frustration and disappointment, Obadiah complained while glancing sideways. Suddenly, he noticed a boy lying on the sofa nearby, watching him with an amused expression.
"Tony, who is this? Whose child is this? He can't possibly be your illegitimate son?" Obadiah frowned.
The presence of a child in Tony's home raised significant questions. After all, Tony had never been known to play around with kids, nor had anyone ever heard of this playboy being someone who took care of children!
Hearing Obadiah's erroneous remarks, Tony's expression changed, and he said in a low voice, "This gentleman is an important client of mine. Obadiah, you'd better not joke about him!"
"Haha! Tony! Are you out of your mind?" Obadiah laughed dismissively, pointing at the boy beside him and mocking, "This kid who's not even ten years old? He's your important client? Ha! It's not April Fool's Day, is it?"
"Sir, it is indeed not April Fool's Day!" one of the black-clad bodyguards grinned.
The president of Stark Industries actually claimed that a child was his important client? If this got out, the entire business circle in America would probably be laughing their heads off!
Chen Fan remained calm as he looked at the laughing Obadiah. Shifting his gaze to the sullen Tony, he chuckled lightly, "Let me tell you something, Tony. Consider it a benefit for helping me modify the aircraft carrier. This Big Baldy right in front of you has been up to quite a bit under your nose!"
"The so-called shareholder causing trouble is also instigated by this guy. Even the armor wreckage you left in Afghanistan was picked up by this Big Baldy!"
The laughter abruptly ceased.
Obadiah's expression changed, and his smile froze on his face. He shot a complex glare at Chen Fan, bewildered by how this unexpected newcomer knew such things.
"Tony, you don't believe a child's nonsense, do you?" Obadiah looked at Tony, his hands clasped behind his back tapping subtly.
"Haha! I believe him!" Tony's eyes turned cold. He had long suspected that Obadiah was up to something, but considering that he was a friend of his father's and had been working hard for the company, he hadn't delved deeper.
He never expected that the man had secretly done so many 'good deeds' behind his back!
"Get him!"
