The cold wind swept through the mountains, and a layer of frost settled on Chen Fan's face. "Even Dormammu wouldn't dare to say that to me!"
As a Godslayer, even a half-baked one, he was not someone to be looked down upon. Chen Fan might not care, but the divinity residing within him could not tolerate its master being disdained without cause.
A Godslayer is an existence that slays gods; their body is infused with Curse Power derived from divine curses. In simple terms, a Godslayer is akin to a god, even viewing gods as prey.
Mortals may choose not to believe in gods or deny their existence, but the divine cannot be blasphemed.
The same goes for a Godslayer. Even if Chen Fan usually appeared harmless, he was still a being comparable to a god. People could ignore him or treat him like a mere pet, but...
If anyone attempted to insult him, deceive him, or show hostility towards him, even ordinary people would struggle to contain their fury, let alone a capricious demon lord.
And the figure before him, Big Baldy, was exuding murderous intent!
Feeling Big Baldy's chilling gaze filled with malice, the Curse Power emanating from Chen Fan's body began to boil. Already irritated by Dormammu's indifference, Chen Fan did not hold back the surge of his Curse Power.
Thus—
Dark clouds gathered as thunder roared over the lifeless Snow Peak. Each bolt of lightning struck down fiercely, obliterating ice peaks in its wake. For a moment, it was as if the apocalypse had descended upon this place.
"Ahh... Chen Fan, don't take it to heart! I believe this Big Baldy isn't doing it on purpose! Just ignore him!" Monster Teacher was genuinely frightened, its tentacles trembling as it waved them about.
Ordinary thunder could be played with inside.
But Chen Fan's lightning was lethal; even if it sensed that it wouldn’t attack him, the sound of thunder felt like a giant hammer pounding on its heart, suffocating it with pressure.
Dormammu's calm demeanor vanished as he glanced coldly at the newcomer, saying sharply, "As a monk, how can you lose your temper for no reason? Old Wang, go to the Library of Scriptures and transcribe one hundred Heart Sutras!"
With that, Dormammu turned to the boy with a frosty expression and said gently, "Emperor Thunder, could you spare this humble monk's disciple for my sake? I will ensure he is punished for his offense against you."
"Hmph... One hundred Heart Sutras, is it?" Chen Fan sneered, a hint of mockery on his delicate face. "For those who wish to kill me or are not even human, even if I wanted to let them go, it would depend on whether the thunder above agrees!"
Dormammu's narrowed eyes slowly opened. "Emperor Thunder has come here seeking something from this humble monk, correct?"
Chen Fan was taken aback and rolled his eyes in annoyance. His anger dissipated; compared to his height issues, the provocation from an utterly non-threatening Lolo seemed trivial.
"At least make it one thousand copies of the Heart Sutra!" He pouted at the tense-faced Big Baldy, and the surging Curse Power within him began to subside.
"Very well!" Dormammu's lips curled into a slight smile, albeit with some resignation. The overwhelming thunder surrounding her seemed insurmountable unless she regained at least half of her former strength.
Truly a visitor from beyond the world!
"Please follow me to the back room for a chat," Dormammu gestured for Chen Fan and Monster Teacher to enter the building complex with her.
Monster Teacher felt a sense of trepidation in this mysterious place and waved his Tentacle. "Chen Fan, I just remembered something important! It's urgent! Very urgent!"
"Today a new student is enrolling! I can't stay with you any longer! Goodbye!" With that, Monster Teacher stomped his foot and dashed away, disappearing into the wind and snow in an instant.
Chen Fan shrugged and turned his gaze back, following Dormammu into the hall.
In the spacious wooden room, a tea table sat with two people facing each other, both sitting cross-legged.
"Do you prefer tea or juice, Emperor Thunder?" Dormammu asked.
"Neither!" Chen Fan rolled his eyes, his gaze fixed directly on Dormammu as he muttered, "Is there anything that can change my current condition? At least something that would allow me to grow normally!"
Having accepted the reality of not being able to grow up, Chen Fan had resigned himself to the situation, treating it like a dead horse being used as a live one. Even if he didn't have that mindset, he wouldn't blame his condition.
Without the power of Godslayer, Chen Fan figured he would have been done for after just three episodes; how could he be enjoying himself like this now?
He could look down on Peter, angrily scold Tony, and ignore Black Director... and so on.
Meeting Chen Fan's serious gaze, Dormammu smiled lightly. "The troubles of Emperor Thunder can actually be easily resolved. As long as you kill a god every once in a while, your growth issues will be solved!"
Just as if revealing his own identity, Chen Fan was not surprised by this. He looked over with a meaningful expression. "You really know my background; is it because of the Time Stone? Uh, I should call it the Eye of Agamotto!"
Dormammu squinted his eyes with a smile but did not answer.
"You say that killing a god every so often can solve my problem? That doesn't make sense!" As far as Chen Fan knew, after killing a god and becoming a Godslayer, one's condition would transform into that of an immortal monster with an unchanging appearance.
Chen Fan's confusion was soon clarified.
"In the world where your ability as Emperor Thunder originates, gods are merely embodiments of myths. However, in our current world, gods are real beings with flesh and blood."
"As a Godslayer, when you kill them, there is no returning to myth; the gods will die right in your hands and disappear forever!"
Dormammu's words unraveled Chen Fan's confusion. This statement was a reminder that the Marvel Universe was not the same as the world of Godslayers; the concept of divinity differed, and the consequences of slaying a god would also vary.
"Do you have a grudge against the gods of this world?" Chen Fan asked skeptically. Wasn't this obviously prompting him to kill the gods of this realm?
Emperor Thunder smiled, "I am merely answering the questions you wish to know, nothing more!" Dormammu sat cross-legged, laughing, his eyes filled with profound meaning that was hard to decipher. His gaze flickered slightly. "Does Emperor Thunder have any other questions?"
"If not, then please help me with one thing. Consider it a reward for solving your troubles, how about that?"
Chen Fan knew there was no such thing as a free lunch in this world, so he felt no dissatisfaction.
"I have one more question!" Chen Fan raised his head and looked seriously at Dormammu. "What exactly has changed in this world?"
What Dormammu knew could no longer be explained by the Time Stone, and the current Marvel Universe felt utterly strange compared to what Chen Fan had known.
"The World Will was born at the moment of the moon's destruction!" The smile in Dormammu's eyes became more pronounced, even revealing an unabashed grin that had a hint of cunning.
Chen Fan, who had appeared confused moments ago, suddenly looked dejected. He glared at Dormammu with unusual anger. "You did this on purpose, didn't you? Damn it! Why did you pull me into this? Can I leave now?"
