Peter, with the assistance of 007, quickly arrived at the Station he had passed by earlier in the evening. However, what lay before him was no longer peaceful; countless people were crying out, screaming, and struggling—
Flames engulfed the buildings, and a chaotic mix of odors filled the air.
"007... can you eliminate these monsters?" Peter gritted his teeth. Although he did not belong to this world, the beings before him were human—living, breathing humans.
"I can eliminate them, but these humans will also perish under the Thunder!" 007 replied. It could control the attack of the Thunder Book, but it could not manage the extent of its impact.
One shot of Thunder Beam would obliterate the Station entirely, as calculated by 007.
Peter felt little disappointment; he had known the possibility was high even before he spoke those words.
"007... form a shield to protect me!" Peter commanded and dove downwards. His body was enveloped in a layer of Purple Radiance, instantly clearing away various odors and invigorating him.
He had only three biochemical bombs from J.A.R.V.I.S. due to their limited quantity, so Peter dared not use them recklessly. Instead, he relied on his agile movements and extraordinary strength to attack the monsters assaulting the humans.
With a single punch, several tons of force struck down; not a single Kabaneri could withstand it. Under the fist covered in Purple Radiance, their decayed bodies exploded instantly.
As he pressed forward, many people gathered around Peter—those he had saved from his fists.
"Idiot Peter, they are thanking you!" 007 translated their words. However, upon hearing this, Peter felt no comfort at all. He swung a metal rod to knock away several charging Kabaneri and then bitterly smiled, "Can you please stop calling me that, 007?"
"No way!" 007 replied decisively.
Big Boy chuckled awkwardly. He decided not to dwell on the issue of titles; the situation was serious. Many had died in this disaster, and he recalled Chen Fan's words to that girl earlier in the evening.
Peter found it hard to understand Chen Fan's mindset. The tone had clearly indicated an awareness of impending disaster, yet after merely relaying a message, he seemed indifferent to the lives of tens of thousands.
"Hiss!" As Peter wrestled with these thoughts, he suddenly inhaled sharply; the Purple Radiance enveloping him felt like needles piercing into his body.
"Foolish Peter... you actually doubt Aser, huh!" 007 said coldly, which served as a warning to Big Boy.
"I know I was wrong!" Peter grinned.
The sting of pain vanished in an instant, leaving him with a sense of resentment; it wasn't his weapon after all, and there was indeed the possibility of being stabbed in the back!
With Peter's protection, those following him felt a mix of fear and a slight sense of safety. After all, the figure ahead had merely swung a metal rod and split the attacking Kabaneri in two—
Adding to this was a layer of purple aura that enveloped him, making everyone regard the suddenly appearing savior as a divine being.
At that moment, a delicate figure leaped over from a nearby building. Upon noticing Peter's presence, she jumped several times until she stood before Big Boy, her face cold as she said, "Why are you all unaware that the Station would be attacked? What is your purpose in coming here to help now?"
Peter furrowed his brows. After hearing 007's translation, he couldn't help but smile bitterly. He had no idea that an attack would occur here; if he had known—

At that moment, Peter began to understand why Bai Chenfan had described things so lightly.
They were not from this place, and with their strange behavior, even if they warned others, it wouldn't be taken seriously. Everything happening now was simply because the other party hadn't taken Chen Fan's words to heart.
Even his own rescue had turned into an act with ulterior motives—
"If you want to survive, hurry and retreat towards the tracks over there!" Peter said, prompting 007 to translate while he threw a biochemical grenade towards the gathering Kabaneri behind him.

"007, tell them not to panic; this smoke only affects those monsters and is harmless to humans!" Peter glanced around at the crowd surrounding him. Their faces were filled with fear, ready to flee, which made him shrug helplessly.
The ignorance of ancient people is truly frightening!
"Thank you for your help, my lord!" After leaving a group of samurai behind, Acorus approached Peter, her tone sincere and her expression respectful.
Peter scratched his head. At that moment, the area was secure, giving him time to observe the girl before him. The language barrier was frustrating, but with the help of 007's translation, he managed to convey the situation clearly.
"Retreat along that railway track. Once you reach the location where my companions are, you will be safe for the time being!" Peter instructed 007 to relay his message to the girl while slipping a biochemical grenade into her hand, advising her:
"This is the weapon I just used. Just press this button and throw it, and it will eliminate all Kabaneri within a kilometer!"
After finishing his instructions, Peter returned to the front lines to clear out other areas of Kabaneri and rescue more humans.

"Sir... it seems Peter is in trouble. Should we go help him?" J.A.R.V.I.S. inquired of Tony, as Peter was indeed a member of their team.
After the military satellite launched, J.A.R.V.I.S. hacked into it and used its aerial cameras to locate Peter.
"Don't worry about him; he can handle his own mess!" Tony replied dismissively as he glanced at the projected image of Peter, admired by many as he fought amidst flames and hordes of monsters. He clicked his tongue in annoyance.
He thought Peter was just going to chat with his sister, but instead, he was trying to show off... or rather, play the hero—

Even 007 was unaware that Thunder Book, as a weapon connected to Chen Fan's mind, would send feedback information back to its master whenever its energy was utilized.

Just as Peter boarded the Iron Fortress, he felt the Thunder Book in his arms tremble, and the shield covering him vanished.
“Foolish Peter… Aser seems angry; you better watch yourself!” 007 remarked before the Thunder Book detached from Big Boy, streaking across the sky with a noticeable glow toward Chen Fan's location.
This astonishing turn of events left Peter in tears; what was this?
In a critical moment, he found himself abandoned by all—was there anything more tragic than this?
