As the one responsible for his current state, Cain had become a convenient target for Chen Fan's pent-up anger. However, Chen Fan overlooked one crucial detail: in a matter of moments, he had stepped into the trap set by Dormammu. 0

—Kill Cain. 0

From initially rejecting the idea to now placing him on a kill list. 0

Time passed quickly. After granting Slum the divine power of Abundance, Chen Fan left that place, arriving at the Floating Fortress high above the clouds. Everything he did was merely to lend a hand to Monster Teacher; without Monster Teacher's intervention, Chen Fan would not have acted. 0

Now that it was over, he had no intention of lingering. 0

“Chen Fan, Qixi is coming soon! Everyone wants to pay their respects to you as a deity!” Monster Teacher suddenly appeared in the fortress, looking flustered. 0

It rushed over to Chen Fan and began babbling; this was just one of its avatars. 0

“Haha!” Chen Fan turned on the sofa and chuckled, “Isn't it enough to have you as the messenger of the deity? I’d rather not be worshipped as a ‘god’; otherwise, those followers might get abandoned by their deity!” 0

The whole idea of pretending to be a god was concocted by Monster Teacher. Now it still wanted to drag him into the act, but Chen Fan firmly declined. 0

Having a Godslayer pretend to be a deity was quite a burden. 0

“Chen Fan, please help your teacher!” Monster Teacher pleaded, rubbing its Tentacle with a hopeful expression. After all, it had made promises while boasting in front of a group of children. 0

“I want coffee, made by Silphy!” Chen Fan replied with a light laugh. He then vanished from the hall, while Monster Teacher, who had been telling stories to the children below, also disappeared. 0

Half an hour later, Monster Teacher reappeared before Chen Fan, panting heavily. “Chen Fan, this is coffee made by Sister Silphy herself, along with an apple pie she baked!” 0

“Give me the coffee; you can keep the apple pie for yourself!” Upon hearing about the apple pie, Chen Fan's narrowed eyes flickered as he took the coffee without paying any further attention to the exquisite dish on the plate. 0

"How can I possibly accept this!" Monster Teacher exclaimed, but the Tentacle showed no signs of politeness as it grabbed a piece and shoved it into its mouth. After chewing a couple of times, it suddenly froze, its eyes bulging, and it began to cough violently. 0

"How does it taste?" Chen Fan blinked, curious if Maid Sister's cooking had improved. 0

"It tastes great... the ratio of paint to pigment is very pure!" Monster Teacher replied. The seemingly exquisite apple pie was nothing but the taste of paint and pigment, leaving even this monster bewildered. This dish was terrifying! 0

Chen Fan took a sip of coffee, delicious without needing explanation, then rested his chin on his hand. He began to lose hope in Maid Sister's culinary skills. 0

Under the night sky, Steel Armor City, now devoid of Peter's protection, faced various unexpected incidents. However, the situation was stabilized; at least there were more living than dead. 0

As evening fell and countless people in Jun City clamored to pray for the deceased, the iron wheels of Jun City came to a halt for a moment of rest in an area that seemed calm. 0

A large fire blazed against the night, and by the bonfire, several monks began chanting scriptures for the deceased. This was a rite to guide the souls of the departed. 0

Not far from them, a gathered crowd knelt on the ground with sorrowful expressions. As the monks chanted, low cries echoed through the air. 0

"What are they doing?" Nameless asked curiously as she watched the scene unfold before her; it was something she had never seen before. 0

Beside her, a boy who had also been shunned by Jun City's people spoke up: "They are guiding the souls of the dead. You'd better not go over there; they might kill you!" 0

Seeing the girl’s curious expression, he reached out to stop her. It was best for a monster like him to stay put. 0

Nameless sniffed the air; she had sensed a Kabaneri scent long ago. This was part of her abilities as a Kabaneri. However, due to the crowd's obstruction in Jun City, she couldn't locate the human who was about to transform into a monster. 0

At that moment, she caught another whiff. 0

"I'll be back soon, don't leave here, or you'll be killed!" 0

Nameless finished speaking and jumped down from Jun City, moving towards the campfire. Those who saw her stepped back in fear. Despite the assurances from the higher-ups of Jun City, a monster was still a monster, something to be feared. 0

Nameless paid no mind to their reactions and walked a few steps to a pregnant woman kneeling on the ground. Her clear voice carried a hint of childishness as she asked, "Why are you hiding the fact that you were bitten? Given your current condition, you'll soon become a Kabaneri!" 0

The pregnant woman remained silent, her face clouded with sorrow. 0

She rubbed her belly, feeling the life within fading away. It was true, but she didn't want to wake up from this nightmare. 0

"Stay away from her, monster!" Someone approached with a farming tool and pulled the pregnant woman up from the ground. 0

Nameless tilted her head in confusion. She had loudly pointed out that the woman had been bitten, yet they were wary of her instead? 0

"She was bitten by a Kabaneri, and she'll soon turn into one. You'd better kill her now, or else..." Nameless was cut off as the pregnant woman screamed, "I wasn't bitten by a Kabaneri! It was her... she wanted to drink my blood!" 0

Kabaneri do not consume human food; they survive by drinking human blood. This was something Nameless had stated not long ago, and it was now common knowledge. 0

In contrast to Nameless's words, the crowd chose to believe the pregnant woman's claims. Armed with various weapons, they pushed back against the monster before them. 0

"I told you, this kind of monster won't settle down. Why does Lord Iris still choose to trust them? We might all end up as her food!" 0

"Get them out... or just kill them! We can't let such monsters follow us!" 0

"Kill... kill her! They won't even spare a pregnant woman; they truly are monsters!" 0

Countless voices shouted in anger. Many had lost loved ones to Kabaneri, and now fueled by rage, the gathered crowd's momentum forced Nameless to take several steps back, unable to withstand it. 0

She was a monster, but not the kind that killed; she couldn't bring herself to harm a group of humans. 0

In that moment, a pregnant woman who had been protected suddenly fell to the ground in pain. Someone nearby rushed to help her, only to be met with a mouth dripping with blood. 0

“Kabaneri... she is a Kabaneri!” the bitten person shouted, his cries met with the weapons of his fellow compatriots. Looking at the pregnant woman still tearing at his wrist, he felt an inner turmoil. 0

“She is a Kabaneri, yet you refuse to believe it!” Nameless scoffed, quickly rushing forward. As she approached within ten meters of the pregnant woman, she swung her hands and snatched a pair of swords from a passing warrior. 0

The distance of ten meters was crossed in the blink of an eye, so fast that even the warriors didn't react in time. 0

Just as she was about to plunge the sword into the woman's heart, a strange loud noise echoed from afar. The Kabaneri before her suddenly fell to the left, out of her attack range, and its crimson heart dimmed. 0

This scene left everyone stunned, and Nameless cautiously turned her gaze toward the source of the sound. 0

“Everyone stay calm! We are warriors from afar. The nearby Kabaneri have already been eliminated by us. Please lower your guard and accept our protection!” A voice mixed with strange sounds descended from above. 0

A blurred metallic object appeared in the sky, flying and buzzing. Following closely behind, bizarre metal beasts emerged from the jungle, resembling moving Autonomous Turrets— 0

Bright lights rose from these strange newcomers, turning the surrounding area into daylight. 0

“Which of you is the train's Chief Stewardess, uh, cough! Manager!” Coulson called out from within the Ground Fortress, glancing at the odd gazes directed at him from inside. He cleared his throat; it was just a slip of the tongue! What was there to be so surprised about! 0
