In the previous chapter, S. Rikkichi heard a strange sound in his ears. Just as he was pondering this, a beast staggered over.
It was clearly there to report something, but judging by its weary state, it must be delivering some bad news!
"Your Majesty, it's not good. A member of the divine race has injured many soldiers and warriors. He is now sitting on your throne, and I even heard him calling for you!"
After delivering the message, the beast stepped aside, adjusting its tattered leather cloak. From the scars covering its body, it was evident that it had sustained serious injuries.
Perhaps it was still grumbling internally, but if it saw the countless dead beasts, it would feel fortunate indeed!
"Hong, you go take a look first! Their king is dead. I don't know where this fool came from looking for trouble. Teach him a lesson, but remember to bring him back alive. I need to question him about the whereabouts of the remnants of the divine race. I'll be there shortly! Don't be careless; be very careful!"
After S. Rikkichi finished speaking, he mounted the Dragon King and raced to the front of the line. Although he appeared cold on the surface, he held a deep affection for his son. Many of his dozens of children had perished during the Divine Demons War. Since the death of Hong's mother—Sakura (a transliteration from magical language)—he had lost interest in relationships and focused solely on the grander plan of resurrecting the Demon King or pursuing the Cosmic Domination Plan—
Harnessing the infinite power of the Demon King!!!
This large-scale search and gathering operation had mobilized most of the soldiers from their village, along with Half-Orc slaves and many beastmen from allied factions. Therefore, they needed to achieve significant results before returning. After all, the demon realm was vast; while several major regions did not oppose S. Rikkichi's rule, they still imposed certain conditions on this operation.
The dragon clan and beastmen demanded Energy Stones, while the Half-Orcs sought timber for construction. The blood clan, loyal subordinates of S. Rikkichi, did not make any demands but wished to see substantial gains for their support!
Hong Likqi mounted his Demon Dragon steed and quickly flew toward the grand hall of the demon realm. He too was puzzled; he could not understand who had such audacity!
Yu Tian had been waiting alone for a long time and was feeling bored as he sat on a stone chair in the main hall of the demon palace.
Staring at the statue of the Demon King overhead for quite some time, he grew increasingly irritated and was about to do something when he heard a rush of air from outside accompanied by cheers from many beasts.
Yu Tian rushed out and immediately spotted a Black Dragon swirling angrily above the Demon Palace, occasionally spewing black mist. He steadied himself and noticed a figure on the back of the Black Dragon.
It was Hong.
As they entered Beastman Village, Hong was taken aback by the sight of many weeping beastmen transporting corpses and stones.
The entire Nakamura had suffered unprecedented destruction; the Stone House and many defensive structures lay in ruins.
Seeing his fallen people, he made a decision. It was a sudden thought that emerged within him: to bring peace to the Demon Realm, to protect his people from harm, and to provide them with a good life!
Standing at the entrance of the Demon Palace was a familiar figure. Hong involuntarily trembled. He blinked rapidly; it was indeed him—Yu Tian, who had long been presumed dead without a doubt. At this moment, anger replaced the calmness in his heart!
“Captain, this is the last time I’ll call you that. What are you doing out here when you should be resting underground?” Hong remained perched on the back of the Black Dragon, showing no intention of dismounting. For now, he was unaware of Yu Tian's true capabilities.
In his view, anyone who could escape from the Dream Barrier must possess extraordinary strength. With the power of the Black Dragon behind him, he felt his chances of success were greater. Moreover, in his mind, he had to eliminate this King of the Gods.
He believed he would surely succeed!
Yu Tian!
He was the biggest thorn in Hong's path toward unification!
Thinking of this, Hong couldn't help but smirk coldly. He looked down at Yu Tian from above, trying to create an imposing presence. But mere intimidation was far from enough. He had confidence in himself, just as Yu Tian did.
“You should worry about yourself first!” Yu Tian quickly summoned Little Ru, preparing for battle.
Little Ru soon awakened as well. Although Yu Tian knew that the Divine Staff from Dimensional Space might be more powerful than Little Ru, that magical staff had never acknowledged Yu Tian.
Aside from the elephant head at its tip proving it was Yu Tian's possession, there was nothing else. In fact, it wouldn’t even let Yu Tian touch it.
Even with something good at his side, he still couldn’t make use of it!
“Last time I didn’t kill you; consider yourself lucky. This time…” Hong sat atop the Black Dragon, and suddenly a black ring-shaped object appeared in his hand. It was a high-grade magical artifact he had received from his father, an unknown object from Lost Forest, but its formidable power was well-known—at least in the Demon Realm! Many leaders had tried to seize it before but failed! Of course, S. Rikkichi had given his son this item, so others had given up on their ambitions!
Yu Tian leaned back with both hands and executed the Swift Void Technique, hovering at a height comparable to Hong's.
At that moment, his eyes were filled with fury. Not long ago, they had laughed together and talked about tomorrow!
“Is there even a tomorrow?” A bitter smile appeared on Yu Tian's face.
Lin, this time the goal is to rescue Lin.
"Let the battle begin!" Yu Tian took the initiative. He cast a small spell, harnessing that energy to charge towards Hong.
"I don't need tomorrow!" he whispered, unleashing a small energy ball.
Hong did not engage; instead, he used the Black Ring to release a Circular Barrier, blocking the attack and flying outward.
"Oh, I didn't expect you to run away right from the start."
Yu Tian was undeterred and quickened his pace to pursue.
Unexpectedly, the black barrier suddenly vanished, and what greeted him was a blazing Fire Pillar. His outer garment was instantly scorched, revealing the Blue Crystal Armor beneath. The pure blue, soft glow inexplicably filled Yu Tian with confidence.
Soon, the energy of the Fire Pillar dissipated. The heat was interrupted by the dispersing energy of the crystal armor. Within Yu Tian's heart, an unknown frenzy began to rise. The power deep in his mind indeed stirred at that moment when it came into contact with the Fire Pillar.
In his subconscious, Yu Tian felt as if he could smell a familiar scent. He struggled to break free. However, as the Fire Pillar collapsed, the stimulation in his mind quickly faded away.
"What on earth is that thing?" Yu Tian pondered as the battle intensified.
What could be entangling him for so long without wanting to leave? Was it an illusion? Would that thing destroy him? The answers would continue to unfold in the next chapter...
