"Such a strange power, but thankfully it has disappeared! No one can hinder my grand ambitions!" Slicky thought to himself as he stood upright.
It turned out that the slumbering Little Ru had awakened. He couldn't sense Yu Tian's presence and began searching around. Then, he helped Yu Tian break the energy barrier of the seal and quickly regained control of his body.
"Oh really? I could defeat you all by myself. Just wait for your son to come and collect your corpse!" Yu Tian said this partly to intimidate his opponent, and partly to divert Slicky's attention so that Little Ru could make his move.
At the moment Slicky frowned, Little Ru emerged from his body and vanished into the clouds, waiting for the right opportunity.
"How arrogant! Think about your father; he was once so glorious, yet he was captured by me. With just you, a newly revived son, surviving will be a challenge, especially since you have beaten my son so badly. Since I can't discipline your father properly, I'll teach you a lesson instead!"
Almost simultaneously, Yu Tian and Slicky charged at each other. They had already gathered their energy, preparing for the final attack.
With a whoosh, a shadow flickered, and Yu Tian disappeared.
"Coward! Trying to sneak up on me with such weak power?" Slicky taunted.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Suddenly appearing beside Slicky, Yu Tian took three heavy hits and was knocked to the ground by a sweeping snake tail.
However, having anticipated that his strength might not be enough, Yu Tian was somewhat prepared. The small energy shield surrounding his body absorbed part of the attack. Not seriously injured, he quickly got back on his feet and launched another assault on Slicky. This time, he wasn't planning to dodge; he wanted to force Slicky to open his mouth and seize the chance to rescue Lin!
"Ah???" Roaring, Yu Tian swung his fist down hard, but the Two-Headed Serpent merely tilted its head slightly to evade.
Although Yu Tian's expression was grave, seeing things unfold as he had planned made him disregard everything else. He watched helplessly as two massive jaws lunged toward him.
He saw it! He saw it!
In the right snake's mouth, there was a white figure!
"Ha!" The right hand, devoid of gathered energy, reached out. The Serpent, feeling no pressure, did not evade; it aimed to take Yu Tian's life directly.
Suddenly thrusting into Slicky's wide mouth, the Serpent closed its jaws. Four sharp venomous fangs instantly pierced through the Crystal Garment's protective shield, breaking the skin.
Pain—Yu Tian felt an unbearable agony. Yet, he could not give up; he had to save his beloved. He did not want to see everyone around him leave one by one. Enduring the excruciating pain, Yu Tian clenched his hand tightly, gently cradling Lin's petite body in his palm. Without a second thought, he pulled his hand outward.
The Two-Headed Serpent was momentarily stunned by the King of the Gods, who was hundreds of years younger than itself. It felt something soft caught on its teeth, and sweet liquid sprayed into its mouth.
“Little Ru,” get ready!” Yu Tian protected his chest with his right hand while using his other hand to block the attack from the left snake head. Despite barely holding on, he could feel the energy within him slowly depleting.
“Alright!” “Little Ru” landed steadily, merging into Yu Tian's body.
“Lin, are you alright?” Yu Tian asked softly.
Looking at Lin in his palm, she seemed so small, her face pale. Yet there was an undeniable joy and excitement radiating from her, making her all the more enchanting.
“Captain! This might be the last time I talk to you. I know you’re in a tough spot; just kill it! Even if I die, I’ll be at peace!”
However, Slicky seemed to sense that this enemy was about to escape. It coiled its serpentine body tightly around Yu Tian, and one snake head lunged at him. Yu Tian forcefully shook off that snake head. But another snake head bit down on his neck.
The loss of energy made Yu Tian feel dizzy; his bones were exposed. Enduring the pain, he pulled down the snake head biting his neck along with a cervical vertebra, blue blood gushing out like a fountain once again. Ignoring everything else, he released Lin and sealed his body.
With the serpent's body tightening around him now revealing such a vast space after Yu Tian shrank, he caught Lin as she fell and activated the spatial teleportation array created by “Little Ru” beneath him!
With a whoosh, Yu Tian vanished. The crystal Energy Stone he threw out at the last moment triggered a series of explosions as he disappeared!
"What a coward! Let's see how far you can run!"
The explosion of energy seemed to instill no fear or harm in Slicky. It knew that Yu Tian's destination must be that Strange Building of the Divine Realm.
Thus, Slicky sealed its serpentine body and swiftly darted toward the “Demon God Barrier.”
Yu Tian rushed into the temple, opening the door to the Time-Space Teleportation Chamber according to his memory.
He didn't know how much longer he could hold on. His body was slowly recovering, but it was not enough to get him back on his feet. He fainted by the door, leaving it wide open. Lin dragged Yu Tian into the teleportation array, but with only a flicker of consciousness, Yu Tian realized he had no idea how to activate this great formation.
Slicky arrived at the Demon God Barrier and unleashed the Demon Clan Secret Technique—Universal Break. He knew this would consume most of his energy, but he believed it would be enough to deal with Yu Tian. Several deep crimson beams of light flashed and struck the barrier. A small purple hole appeared on the blue barrier, just large enough for Slicky, who had already reverted to his beastman form, to slip through. Entering the divine realm, he quickly flew toward the temple.
Memories of the past filled him with excitement and exhilaration. Recalling the glory of yesteryears and the brilliance that was about to come, he wore a strange smile.
Yu Tian lay helplessly on the teleportation array as Lin gently lifted his head. His vision was blurry; perhaps this was his final moment. He had so much to say to Lin, but no matter how hard he tried, his mouth wouldn't open.
Whatever fate awaited him, he could only wait for time to reveal it.
Slicky approached slowly, and Yu Tian let his hand drop onto the Time Array. Energy flowed from Yu Tian's hand, quietly absorbed by the teleportation array.
Slicky drew closer with each step; danger was steadily approaching—
Death—
Just as Slicky began to chant his incantation and Lin held Yu Tian tightly, everything suddenly went dark before Yu Tian's eyes—
All things vanished—
