Little Ru opened the door to find several members of the Anti-Violence Squad and a few warriors from the CRB, along with his two proud students. He also brought along Yan Lan'er's granddaughter, whom Yu Tian had encountered in the hallway last time.
"Big Brother! The doctor and his team are here!" Little Ru stepped aside after opening the door, inviting everyone into the house.
"Okay, okay, I'll be right there!" Yu Tian's voice came from the kitchen, accompanied by faint sounds of "Lin, be careful, I'm stepping out for a moment!"
Before long, just as Dr. S and the others settled down, Yu Tian opened the door and walked into the living room.
The living room featured three large sofas and several small cushioned chairs, with Little Ru already having them seated. A one-meter-eight tall screen slightly blocked the staircase, along with a bathroom tucked away in a corner. For this group of over ten people, the spacious living room did not feel too cramped.
"Doctor, you really arrived early! There's still more than half an hour until dinner," Yu Tian said as he wiped his hands and placed the towel on a rack before sitting down.
"Weren't you the one who said we should come early? Now you have a problem with it?" Dr. S lifted the coffee that Little Ru had brought him and took a small sip.
"No worries—who are these people?" Yu Tian raised his hand slightly.
"Oh—" Dr. S introduced the warriors and Yan Ling to Yu Tian one by one, then pulled Yu Tian aside to say, "Yu Tian, I looked at the flight plan for the Black Hole II yesterday. I estimate it won't be long before we reach that place... Kadar Star! I hope you can get there soon to take a look."
Yu Tian's expression remained calm as he replied, "I have things to do; I won't be staying on Earth for long."
"That's good; let's go have some drinks!"
"Sure! Little—Jack, bring some glasses and white liquor!" Yu Tian called out to Little Ru, who was lost in thought.
"Okay, coming right up!" Little Ru said as he walked into the storage room.
"Yu Tian, when did you get such a brother?" Dr. S asked curiously.
"Just someone I met," Yu Tian replied briefly. Dr. S understood that there were many things Yu Tian couldn't discuss and didn't press further.
"These are all excellent warriors; they've all reached Galactic Commander level! Just like you were back then!" Dr. S pointed to several members of the Anti-Violence Squad. "These folks are impressive too; especially in interstellar traffic management—they've maintained order quite well!" The doctor then gestured towards the CRB warriors.
"Well! Yes, everyone looks quite spirited!" Although Yu Tian said this, the few team members seemed rather uneasy, as if the doctor had instilled some strange ideas in them. "Everyone relax a bit. I was impressive back in the day, but that was hundreds of years ago. Now it's your turn, you young ones!"
As Yu Tian spoke, he took the wine glass and several bottles of liquor that Little Ru handed him. After distributing the glasses to everyone, Little Ru poured another drink for one person. This made Yu Tian very happy; it seemed that Little Ru was quite good at playing the role of a human!
Once everything was settled, Little Ru walked up to Yu Tian and whispered in his ear, "Big Brother, my time is almost up; I have to leave now! Just seeing so many people makes me really happy!"
"Oh—then you—" Yu Tian suddenly remembered that Little Ru's transformation didn't last too long; it had probably been over half an hour.
"Everyone, I'm leaving now!" With that, Little Ru quickly dashed out of the room, opened the door, and was gone. Everything happened before anyone could react.
"Yu Tian, what does your brother do? He's so busy even on your wedding day—" The doctor took a small sip of liquor.
"He's a businessman; he has important matters to attend to at his shop." Yu Tian enjoyed this feeling; he took a deep breath and then gulped down a mouthful of liquor, quickly swallowing it without letting it linger in his mouth. The sensation of the warm liquid flowing through him was something he had always loved. Although the effects of alcohol would soon kick in, the feeling as it traveled down his throat was so wonderful that it made him unknowingly fall in love with it.
"Indeed! It's not easy to do business these days; it's exhausting!" Dr. S also had a great fondness for alcohol.
"By the way, if you ask the doctor something, you must tell me!" Yu Tian clinked his glass and looked seriously at the doctor, waiting for a confirming response.
"You should tell me what it is first!" Dr. S appeared nonchalant but seemed to be avoiding some topic in Yu Tian's eyes.
"Can't you agree to it first?" Yu Tian decided to take a firmer stance.
"It's not that I don't want to; it's just that today is a special day. Let's try to talk about happier topics! Don't you all agree?" Dr. S skillfully shifted Yu Tian's focus onto others around them.
"That's true! Today is a day for celebration; let's put aside any worries for now—" Yu Tian raised his glass, signaling everyone to toast.
The others also stopped their conversations and stood up with their glasses raised.
"Yu Tian, I'll be the first to wish you happiness!" Dr. S started off, and others chimed in with blessings like "May you have a harmonious union" and "May you grow old together," even adding "May your home be filled with children."
"Thank you! It's too early for that. Shouldn't we save those words for dinner?" Yu Tian did his best to hide his embarrassment.
"Eventually, it's all about talking—saying it twice isn't wrong! Don't you all agree?" Dr. S rallied the others to counter Yu Tian.
"Do as you please!" Yu Tian had no choice but to surrender.
Once everyone was seated, several members of the Anti-Violence Squad asked Yu Tian some technical questions, while the CRB members listened attentively to this senior's experiences.
During the quiet moment, Yan Ling squeezed in next to Yu Tian and sat down.
"What should I call you? Uncle or Great-Grandpa?" Yan Ling's question was quite amusing, leaving Yu Tian at a loss for words.
"Don't put him on the spot!" Dr. S stepped in to help Yu Tian out. "Just call him Great-Grandpa; by seniority, it makes sense."
"Doctor, you're not helping! I'm not that much older than her!" Yu Tian exclaimed in a panic.
"What do you mean not much older? We're both hundreds of years old!" It turned out that Lin had finished preparing the meal. "Everyone, come eat!"
"Yes—let's eat!" With that, Yu Tian invited everyone to take their seats and began assisting Lin and the robots in serving the food.
We're all hundreds of years old, Yu Tian thought again. But what does being hundreds of years old even mean? If one lived for a thousand years but spent that time living like a pig, is that really life? Does that count as living for a thousand years?
There was no specific target; he simply hoped everyone would take each day seriously. Thank you, just a simple reminder!
