Yu Tian originally thought he had obtained some treasure, but in the end, he faced punishment from the Earth Spirit. He did not rely on his own wisdom and courage to break through; instead, he succeeded thanks to Shui Er. Could he endure this? The story continues...
Seeing her elder brother's pained expression, Shui Er felt anxious and sent a message: "Brother, don't be afraid. The Earth Spirit is a spiritual entity formed from the soil deep within the earth over thousands of years. Actually, I heard about it from the Earth Spirit itself, so I don't fully understand it. But I know it's something extreme... It's hard to explain... Brother Tian, you must protect yourself! And don't worry, it won't kill you; it's just a bit painful for now. That smell is a rotten one; I'm sure you'll manage!" At first, Yu Tian was confused by her words, but as she continued, he felt a sense of helplessness. Shui Er could be so frustrating at times. Just as he was about to scold her, an uncomfortable sensation in his stomach brought him back to reality.
Yu Tian felt as if his stomach was churning, waves of pain crashing against his nerves. It was far worse than merely feeling "uncomfortable," but as a man, he gritted his teeth and endured it.
What was this? It was not soil at all; it was more like the muck of a filthy drain. Even mud would taste better than this; even if mud entered his stomach, it wouldn't provoke such an immediate reaction and would have some resistance to various forms of magic. (So disgusting, I won't describe it further!)
Seeing Yu Tian in such agony that he looked like he might die, Shui Er rushed over and began licking his face. She hoped her healing abilities could alleviate her brother's suffering, but could such simple methods really relieve this kind of pain?
"Brother Tian! Focus! Concentrate your energy on your digestive system; you must absorb it! Otherwise, you'll turn to stone!" Suddenly, Shui Er remembered what the old Earth Spirit had told her about its special functions. If her brother turned to stone, all her efforts would have been in vain. She wanted to escape this place for that very reason, which was why she had nearly fallen victim to the demon king's trap.
The Earth Spirit lay comfortably in Yu Tian's armchair and chuckled softly: "I never expected livestock could have feelings; times have truly changed!" A rare smile appeared on its face; although its wrinkles deepened, it seemed to express a sense of relief.
Following Shui Er's advice, Yu Tian concentrated his energy in his stomach. As he continuously infused energy into himself, the originally viscous Earth Spirit became clearer and clearer. Yu Tian finally felt at ease as the Earth Spirit gradually began to be digested and flowed into his body.
However, the extreme stench still wafted around him. If death were an option at that moment, Yu Tian would gladly choose it... But he quickly realized that magic could effectively dispel this foul odor. So he repeatedly cast the same spell; he didn't want his nose to suffer.
Soon, thanks to Yu Tian's efforts, the nauseating smell of the Earth Spirit disappeared. He felt invigorated as a faint Blue Barrier appeared around him. At that moment, Shui Er also felt excited and circled around Yu Tian eagerly, almost wanting to leap forward but seeming a bit afraid.
"What is this?" Looking at the crystalline glow surrounding him, Yu Tian felt something sacred yet found himself temporarily unaccustomed to this sudden miracle.
Earth Spirit smiled, the earlier seriousness vanished, and calmly said, "This is the 'Earth Spirit Shield' I bestow upon you; it can withstand powerful attacks." After speaking, Earth Spirit magically created a shape resembling a shield, with brief descriptions of its various parts indicated in magical language. Looking at such a fine item, Yu Tian reached out to touch the energy that surrounded him, which flickered in and out, finally forgetting the hardships he had endured.
At that moment, Shui Er changed her usual demeanor and seemed a bit angry, lying on the ground without even glancing at Yu Tian. Her tail kept swishing back and forth, as if expressing her discontent.
"She is jealous of you! She knew long ago that the 'Earth Spirit' was a good thing," Earth Spirit explained to the puzzled Yu Tian. After all, Earth Spirit had watched this little wolf grow up.
Upon hearing that she was getting a gift, Shui Er quickly ran over. What a mischievous little creature she was, looking so excited as if it were something truly special.
"Here, take this 'Earth Spirit Pearl'! Although it can't compare to the 'Earth Spirit Shield,' it's still quite nice!" After saying this, Earth Spirit dug out a clump of mud from the ground and began to knead it. Before long, a round brown pearl appeared.
Seeing that Earth Spirit had casually pulled a piece of mud from the ground, Shui Er thought it was just teasing her and felt disappointed. She bit her tail and drooped her head, preparing to go back and lie down in protest. However, just as she turned halfway around, the clump of mud slowly shed its outer layer to reveal a shiny pearl. The brilliance of the pearl pierced Shui Er's eyes, prompting her to run back over with her mouth open, ready to eat it.
"You can't eat this!" Earth Spirit blocked Shui Er's mouth. She obediently nodded her head, and only then did Earth Spirit place the Earth Spirit Pearl in front of her.
Shui Er lowered her head and took the pearl in her mouth before darting out of the tent.
"Youth! You have crossed into the third realm of Otherworld! I hope you achieve great things in the future, haha..." The laughter faded along with Earth Spirit's figure. "I wonder where he has gone off to play now?"
Yu Tian called back Shui Er; she had already found a thin vine somewhere and hung the Earth Spirit Pearl on it. It seemed this little wolf was quite clever!
The pearl even had a small hole worn by her teeth. Shui Er danced around Yu Tian, showing off her pearl. This little creature loved to flaunt whatever she had; no one could tell if it was something valuable or just trash. However, Yu Tian certainly wouldn't dampen Shui Er's spirits.
He patted Shui Er's fur and said, "Shui Er, take me to the next place!"
"Alright, where to now?"
"The nearest one!" Shui Er wagged her tail and walked out of the grass hut, happily leading the way. Yu Tian quickly followed behind.
Shui Er darted through the flowers and grass, sometimes disappearing suddenly and other times reappearing behind Yu Tian. Yu Tian thought that if Lin could come here to play together, it would truly be ideal.
At times, Shui Er would pop out from the bushes and bump into the pensive Yu Tian.
Yu Tian snapped back to reality and chased after Shui Er, picking up speed.
They raced through the flower-filled thicket, and Shui Er didn’t forget her mission. Before long, she led Yu Tian out of the Earth Elemental Realm and into the Wind Elemental Realm.
