Ladies and gentlemen, ha ha, let's collect this!
Dream Seeker II had to undergo a test while flying to Heavenly Kadar, and this adventure left the spaceship in dire straits.
"Of course, this is merely a metaphor. Its foundation lies in a paradox from quantum mechanics.
"As early as the 19th century, papers proposed by Einstein and others discussed how people could separate two connected molecules and have them move in opposite directions. Even if these two particles were light-years apart, one could infer the behavior of one by examining the other; one could influence one by disturbing the other. Essentially, the interaction between these two particles occurs instantaneously, even faster than the speed of light!
"Einstein believed such a scenario was impossible; however, later theoretical physicists used a widely accepted equation from quantum mechanics to prove that this superluminal interaction is predictable. Perhaps some part of the universe 'knows' another part of the universe, indicating a kind of long-distance contact that can occur under certain conditions...
"You should understand my point now? It is—two consciousnesses connecting, or to be more specific, a connection of thoughts. Thoughts are streams of particles and energy bodies; according to this hypothesis, it is entirely possible for them to connect; they must have commonalities, stemming from the same source." Tlat sighed meaningfully, "In fact, perhaps all living beings in the vast universe share similar sensations?"
At this point, Wenke pushed up his large glasses on his nose. Of course, Wenke’s words left Fan Qing and Reynold in confusion and bewilderment; they felt as if they were listening to an incomprehensible tale.
It seemed that Fan Qing was the first to grasp Wenke’s meaning. To confirm, he asked uncertainly, "Do you think that the reason for First Officer's behavior is because there is another consciousness—or perhaps another life—resonating with him from afar, communicating and exchanging with each other? But we cannot detect it, just like Dark Matter?"
Wenke spread his hands. "To be honest, I don't even believe that such communication truly exists (of course, I later denied it after learning about magic). It sounds like telepathy; no one can clearly discern its truth. However, I believe that the brain is not merely a storage place for information; it is also a converter of information and energy. At certain times, it can connect as easily as a radio and can be just as easily disturbed."
"So where is this other consciousness? In this area?"
"Who knows? Perhaps it is everywhere."
"Alright." Reynold interjected. "Right now, what concerns me most is how to restore Creson to his original state."
Indeed, this was the most pressing issue; although Wenke had proposed a new perspective, he could not solve this problem.
For a moment, everyone fell silent again.
"Listen, there's no need to complicate things. No need!" Reynold roared, not wanting the air of mystery to envelop them; mystery meant uncertainty, which would only lead to panic.
Wenke disagreed with Reynold's words: "But Captain, aren't we in space? In this world, anything that seems impossible can happen."
If they were on Earth, it might have been a time of bright sunshine, but for the Dream Seeker spaceship, it was entirely different. Not to mention how desolate and cold it was in this place, hundreds of light-years away from the center of the galaxy; the strange questions in everyone's hearts were enough to leave them unsettled.
Reynold looked at the Electronic Calendar, a difficult feeling rising within him. He had just visited the First Officer, who remained in a state of semi-consciousness; sometimes there were faint murmurs, but they were indistinct.
He roughly checked the main control computer.
At that moment, he cursed himself inwardly: how could he have only thought to check the main control computer now? Although he didn't fully understand the intricate controls of these devices, he could grasp the basic information. The computer informed him that the return procedure would initiate at 12:00 noon.
If there were no further surprises, everything would conclude by noon today.
"Let them go to hell," he thought angrily. "How could I take Wenke's words seriously? The problem isn't as elusive as we imagine! What's left is likely just our own wild guesses and unnecessary worries." Faced with the normal operation of the instruments on the Control Panel, he began to feel reassured.
Time seemed to fly by in the desolate expanse of space.
Reynold's body curled up in his seat. It was needless to say that he was extremely fatigued and had been tense for quite some time. He stared blankly at the cabin wall; given their excellent work efficiency, this was not difficult to achieve.
"Alright, alright. I'm all set," Fan Qing said as he walked in, clapping his hands. "I've jettisoned that troublesome comet. By the way, how's the First Officer?" Fan Qing asked with concern.
Reynold rubbed his eyes in disappointment: "He hasn't woken up yet. But he's out of danger now. If he can just rest a bit longer, I believe he'll pull through." A pang of sadness hit Reynold.
"To prevent any acceleration when the main engine starts, I've placed him in the magnetic suspension chamber; there, he won't be subjected to any vibrations."
Reynold's words comforted Fan Qing.
"Let's prepare to head back," Fan Qing said, looking aimlessly around.
"Sure. We just need to wait."
"I'm not afraid." Lisa glanced at the electronic watch on her wrist. "It's 11:30." She seemed a bit excited. "I've had this indescribable feeling inside me."
"Will the four of us return to Earth as we once were? I really hope so. We are a whole together. But now..." He felt a twinge of sadness, perhaps not wanting to erase this memory.
He couldn't continue. The friendship that had formed over time was evident in that moment. But who could have predicted or prevented everything that had happened? In fact, there were no signs; all they could do was remedy the situation.
Time slipped away unnoticed in the silence.
"What’s going on? It's already 11:50. Why hasn’t Wenke come yet? What is he doing?" Reynold wondered, puzzled, as they still had some preparations to make.
Fan Qing glanced at the unmoving hatch. "I don't know; I'll go check." She hurried toward it. However, just as she opened the hatch, someone rushed in, nearly colliding with her.
"Wenke, what’s wrong with you?" Fan Qing exclaimed loudly upon recognizing him.
