The events occurring in the cosmos had reached a temporary conclusion, but within the Otherworld, Yu Tian was facing even more severe trials. How was he able to break through the elemental restrictions? Was it due to his innate talent or some other reason?
“Brother Tian! Wind Eagle took Yu Tian to many fun places, like Rainbow and Wind Mountain…” Shui Er ran excitedly, her voice trailing off as she recalled Wind Eagle's behavior.
“Alright, alright! You stay over there; I have things to do!” At that moment, Shui Er hadn’t even reached Yu Tian before she started shouting, which made Yu Tian a bit impatient.
“Brother Tian, Yu Tian didn’t do anything to you!” Just then, Wind Eagle lunged at Yu Tian. The Wind Elemental stood atop a cloud, declaring, “Looks like it’s training Yu Tian!”
Yu Tian tried to push Shui Er away, but his energy was sealed. Without his previous power, he couldn’t fend off the oncoming threat. Seeing Wind Eagle charge at him, Shui Er instinctively stepped in front of Yu Tian, ready to defend him.
“Get away! Water Wolf God!” With a wave of its hand, the Wind Elemental sent Shui Er flying far away.
Then came the defeat of Wind Eagle, and Shui Er broke through the restrictions, rushing towards Yu Tian.
Fortunately, Shui Er didn’t come crashing in aggressively. However, upon seeing that Yu Tian was unharmed, her momentum carried her forward uncontrollably. With such a large mass, her inertia was significant. She had no choice but to shrink her form several times before colliding heavily with Yu Tian.
The impact was no small matter; Yu Tian was knocked back several meters, his thoughts interrupted. Shui Er had always been reckless like this; instead of blaming her, he found himself scolding himself for being so careless.
Yet seeing Shui Er again and realizing she had successfully broken free from her restraints brought him joy. He gently patted her head a few times.
“Brother Tian! You scared me to death!” Shui Er snuggled into Yu Tian’s embrace, playfully trying to lick his face with her warm tongue. Though he blocked her attempts, she persisted.
“You’re the one who’s reckless! By the way, Shui Er, how is it that this sealed energy can still come through?” Yu Tian asked curiously. Since his external energy had been sealed, once his stored energy was depleted, he wouldn’t be able to cast magic again. Yet just moments ago, he had unleashed powerful magic despite lacking energy.
“How would I know?!” Shui Er replied defiantly as if it were obvious she wouldn’t know. But seeing that Yu Tian was fine finally allowed her to evade his hands and lick his face a few times.
Then, jumping out from Yu Tian's arms, she turned back and called out a few times to Wind Eagle, as if scolding it. At that moment, Wind Eagle was also quite injured; hearing her criticism, it did not respond, resembling a child who had done something wrong and was being reprimanded by a parent. It remained silent, merely tending to its own wounds.
Upon hearing Shui Er's calls, it let out a few soft cries. It seemed to be defending itself or perhaps trying to argue back. However, seeing Shui Er's imposing figure, it dared not continue making a fuss.
The Wind Elemental approached Wind Eagle and cast a peculiar halo spell. This magic quickly healed its wounds. Then the Wind Elemental mounted Wind Eagle's back and flew toward Yu Tian.
Initially, Yu Tian thought she had come to treat him, but to his surprise, the old woman scrutinized him with a puzzled expression, as if he harbored some secret.
After examining Yu Tian for a long while, the Wind Elemental carefully guided Wind Eagle to hover not far above him. A serious expression returned to her face.
"She must be an old maid! Still so..." A fleeting thought crossed Yu Tian's mind, but when he noticed the Wind Elemental seemingly glaring at him, he quickly retracted his thoughts.
After what seemed like a long struggle, the Wind Elemental gently asked, "Young man! How did you come to form a Life Contract with an elemental?" She sighed, filled with endless curiosity.
Yu Tian looked up; he could not see her face clearly, but her aged voice carried a sense of concern that made him feel somewhat guilty. He replied softly, "It was unavoidable at that time."
Indeed! In order to save the one he loved and having no better options available, he had no choice but to resort to the forbidden techniques of the divine race.
"Well! If it weren't for that reason, it would have been very difficult to break through!" The Wind Elemental waved her hands, and a breeze swept over. He felt a refreshing aura within this gentle wind along with a calming energy; it must have been some kind of magical artifact.
Yu Tian did not shy away; as he drew closer, he saw a bracelet swirling in the wind—transparent and only vaguely visible. It appeared quite beautiful and seemed powerful as well. He just didn't know how effective it would be; that was another matter entirely.
Reaching out his hand into the wind, a bracelet slipped onto Yu Tian's wrist. He felt a surge of strong energy rushing toward him; however, this energy seemed to open all the pores in his body and release all negative thoughts and impurities. He felt incredibly pure and couldn't help but exclaim, "This feels amazing!"
Seeing Yu Tian like this, Shui Er finally perked up and stopped scolding Wind Eagle; she merely cast disdainful glances at the Wind Elemental on Wind Eagle's back.
"Child, you might want to consider dissolving that contract! It could be very harmful for you!" The Wind Elemental's words were gentle but revealed more concern. This made Yu Tian feel even worse inside; he didn't understand what mistake he had made in using that magic.
The Wind Elemental turned away, and seeing her about to leave, Yu Tian hurriedly asked, "Wind Elemental! Why did the Magic Elements break your seal to grant me power?" This was a question that had puzzled him for a long time. From the hints given by the Wind Elemental, he vaguely understood that it must be closely related to the contract he had made. So how long would this threat last? For someone who aspired to be powerful, this was the first issue that needed resolution.
The Wind Elemental paused but did not turn back. "They used your Life Fire. If you die, most of them will disappear. Originally, Yu Tian would not harm you, but those elements saved you, and you have already lost a lot of Life Fire. If you do not lift this soon, it will be difficult to accomplish what you have in mind!"
So that was it. However, he felt he had been prepared from the beginning, and it was clearly stated in the Divine Canon. It was precisely because he was ready to sacrifice everything for his mission that a little bit of life seemed insignificant. He just hadn’t expected the consumption to be so rapid. If it weren't for the Wind Elemental's reminder, he wouldn't have realized how much older he seemed. No wonder his magical power wasn't as strong as before, and his body's defensive awareness was so low; otherwise, he wouldn't have been so easily invaded by the Demon King. The lack of training leading to his decline was indeed a great tragedy!
Of course, Yu Tian thought this way as he prepared to test what dire consequences this contract might bring. Lost in thought, he activated Little Ru and began murmuring magical incantations.
At that moment, the Wind God flew away, leaving Yu Tian in contemplation.
Shui Er also looked towards the direction where the Wind Eagle had departed, howling continuously; faintly, one could still hear the piercing cries of the Wind Eagle. These two companions had no choice but to part ways; when they would meet again remained an Unknown Variable. Such was the reality: where there is gathering, there must be separation.
"Great matters? What truly constitutes a great matter? What significance does Yu Tian's actions hold? In the end, won't everything return to nothingness?"
Yu Tian focused his energy, preparing to release another spell aimed at measuring spiritual power. However, at that moment, countless elements began rushing toward the source of life, devouring his Life Fire. This startled Yu Tian greatly; he had no choice but to retract his magic and prepare himself for the next trial.
This time, Yu Tian let Shui Er lead him without much preparation. He knew his time was limited and that he needed to complete all trials within this finite timeframe; otherwise, even a slight delay could mean failure.
Shui Er bit at the hem of Yu Tian's clothes, bringing him back to reality. Originally, both Yu Tian and Shui Er had been blown away from the Wind Elemental Realm; below them was not a desert but a chaotic rocky area.
Every situation has its pros and cons; it is always a double-edged sword. Especially when it comes to magic that utilizes natural forces?
