Arriving at the Thunder Elemental Realm, Yu Tian and Shui Er had endured countless hardships before finally encountering the Thunder Elemental. However, the appearance of this Thunder Elemental was terrifying. Surrounding its body were strands of lightning, and there were even demonic claw-like patterns formed by chaotic energy surges. Such active energy was not something an ordinary magician could unleash. 0

"Thunder Punishment!" The voice of the Thunder Elemental boomed like thunder. 0

"What is that?" This was the first time Yu Tian had heard of such a thing; he couldn't understand why a magician would implement a form of punishment. 0

"That is something I learned on Earth two thousand years ago. A certain emperor used this method to deal with criminals," the Thunder Elemental explained. 0

At this point, the Thunder Elemental deliberately conjured a Magic Sphere made of pure lightning and began to play with it in its hands. The Magic Sphere, composed entirely of thunder elements, was highly active, with countless strands of lightning dancing around it. 0

Shui Er stood beside Yu Tian, watching the sphere emit crackling sounds and flashes of light, which excited the Water Demon Wolf immensely. Shui Er seemed ready to leap forward to grab the Magic Sphere. Yu Tian quickly noticed Shui Er's intent and grabbed its fluffy tail, pulling it back to his side. To prevent Shui Er from running off again, he squatted down and gently patted its head, giving it a few reminders. Shui Er obediently wagged its tail, assuring Yu Tian that it wouldn't run away again. 0

Once Shui Er was settled, Yu Tian began to reflect on the Thunder Elemental's words. He remembered having read about such punishments in books but still couldn't comprehend why this Elemental God would resort to such methods. According to the rules of the magical era, everything should be conducted according to the established norms for magicians; such cross-civilization punishments should be beneath a ruler of any era. Yet, for this Thunder Elemental, it seemed entirely natural—how infuriating! (Here, I aim to design another image of a god; even supreme deities have flaws, just as nothing in this world is perfect.) 0

"That was over two thousand years ago, during the late Ming Dynasty. How could such barbaric methods still be in use then?" Yu Tian questioned, feeling puzzled. "The modern era is different! Those were the killing methods of ancient tyrants. By the way, why didn’t you stop such brutal acts back then? You are a god!" 0

During the Ming Dynasty, there were indeed many cruel punishments, like literary inquisitions, and many emperors were tyrannical and foolish, using these horrific punishments to instill fear in others. However, as an Elemental God, why didn’t it simply intervene? As a magician, such a small matter should have been easy to handle! 0

"Precisely because we are gods, we cannot intervene directly. The lives and deaths of Earthlings mean nothing to us!" The Thunder Elemental's voice was loud and firm, as if asserting what an Elemental God’s responsibilities truly were. The activity of the lightning surrounding it increased significantly at that moment, seemingly in agreement with its master’s viewpoint. 0

"Oh! So because of that, you choose not to save lives? Even if you cannot appear in person, you should be able to use special means to help them... Back then, they were all ignorant people; they were very superstitious. If you used magic, they would have regarded you as a deity descending from heaven!" Yu Tian spoke with righteous indignation. He was genuinely angry now—furious for the sake of humanity and the truths that should not be overlooked. 0

"Gods? Ha... I really don't understand the nature of those humans... How can I be blamed for this?" The Thunder Elemental appeared somewhat aggrieved and angry. 0

"But looking at a living being perish, don't you have even a shred of desire to help?" Yu Tian shouted almost in fury. 0

With large, expressive eyes fixed on the sky, the Elemental God was filled with extreme anger. Watching a defenseless person die without a hint of compassion—was this what it meant to be a god overseeing the fundamental elements of the world? 0

"If you all are like this, then I will leave right now. What is there to test my benevolence? Is this your version of righteousness? You can't even handle such a small matter and still want to test me? Do you even have the qualifications?" Every word from Yu Tian was shouted out. 0

However, the Thunder Elemental did not respond. Its shadow suddenly vanished with a whoosh, and Yu Tian immediately felt a rush of energy pass by him. 0

"Thunder Elemental! What are you doing?" Yu Tian thought that the Elemental God was truly angry and intended to harm him. He quickly raised his protective shield and summoned Little Ru, holding on tightly. Other items like the Cosmic Pearl, Earth Spirit Shield, and Wind Bracelet all activated, glowing brightly as they circled around Yu Tian. (Note: This is not a magical treasure... it is merely the dazzling appearance that all spiritual artifacts possess...) 0

Time seemed to pause at that moment. When time resumed, Yu Tian still had not received a simple answer. He turned to look around; even the Water Demon Wolf King, who had promised to stay by his side, was nowhere to be found! 0

Where did Shui Er go? This was Yu Tian's immediate thought; after all, people have feelings. He and Shui Er were like brothers in life and death! 0

"Shui Er! Where are you?" Yu Tian sent out a sound wave filled with energy, but there was still no response. Before he could call out again, a thunderclap exploded overhead, and a bolt of lightning leaped toward him. He quickly gathered energy beneath his feet and nimbly dodged. 0

It was indeed not that simple; just as he evaded, three bolts of lightning came flying toward him. Fortunately, he had amassed a significant amount of energy at his feet and quickly retreated. The lightning struck the ground less than half a millisecond after he moved, shattering the stone beneath him. 0

However, Yu Tian felt a sharp pain from behind; it turned out that one bolt of lightning had come from behind and shattered his Earth Spirit Shield. 0

"Could it really be this powerful?" Yu Tian genuinely did not expect such a small bolt of lightning to break through a shield sent by an Elemental God. If he hadn't dodged quickly enough, the consequences would have been far worse than that stone's fate. 0

Yu Tian quickly replenished his energy. At that moment, the Wind Bracelet emitted a transparent glow, restoring the energy of the Earth Spirit Shield. However, Yu Tian's nerves still tensed up for a moment, and his mind went blank. The sensation of being struck by lightning was truly unpleasant; the nerve endings trembled for a long time before settling down. Yet, the memories in his mind remained vividly active... 0

How would Yu Tian handle the aftermath of the lightning strike? He should be fine and continue with his day... 0
