Fragments of memories slowly pieced together in his mind, yet they remained unclear. However, feeling the immense power within him, he set aside those memories. "Demonic nature? That can't be!" Yu Tian knew this but didn't want anyone else to know; otherwise, he felt he would be at a disadvantage.
"It is true! But I have temporarily suppressed it for you. As long as your will is strong, you can keep it under control. King of the Gods, be wary of the Demon King and other evil forces in the universe. Remember: it's not just about the galaxy but the entire universe; you must maintain its balance. This is your mission!"
Suddenly, there was no sound around him; Yu Tian could no longer perceive any noise.
He tried to sense the changes in energy pressure around him. Everything was visibly disappearing at an alarming rate; yet as some things vanished, more appeared—like a cycle of the entire universe.
Yu Tian suddenly remembered Shui Er. Wasn't she supposed to be in his arms? Why hadn't she made a sound?
"Shui Er, where are you?" he called out loudly.
"Aw..." A cry from somewhere reached his ears, prompting Yu Tian to open his tightly shut eyes. He realized he was sitting in water, with his spaceship above him.
"Eh? How did I end up here?" Yu Tian hadn't expected to leave Otherworld while drinking; he still had fond memories of that ever-growing realm.
Shui Er's voice came from above, and Yu Tian quickly swam upward. With a protective bubble around him, he easily reached the surface without getting his clothes wet. Walking through this nearly dried-up river was quite convenient.
In no time at all, Yu Tian successfully boarded his spaceship.
Upon entering, he noticed something sitting in the Co-Pilot Seat.
Yu Tian approached slowly and discovered it was Shui Er's large backside. He quietly crept up to her and suddenly picked her up; she seemed oblivious to whatever she had been watching.
When Yu Tian shouted in her ear, she finally turned around and licked his hand. Their mental connection had become seamless, as easy as having a conversation.
Yu Tian asked her, "What were you looking at, Shui Er?"
Water gently scratched its head with its front paw and asked, "Brother Tian, when did the Water Elemental Realm and Wind Elemental Realm come together?"
Yu Tian smiled, realizing it was looking at the Sahara Desert and Cis Lake. No wonder it asked such a silly question.
"This is a human place; this is Earth, not the Otherworld! Water, why don't you come with me to my home and take a look? Remember, I won't be talking to you as frequently anymore, so keep quiet. Otherwise, I'll send you back!" Yu Tian threatened.
"Understood!" Water obediently lay down. Yu Tian activated the spaceship, but there were no pyramids on the map. The pyramids from before felt like a dream, completely vanished. The entire area around Cis Lake was approaching drought again, with the water nearly touching the lakebed. The surrounding aquatic plants were confined to a very small area. This had once been a cradle of civilization, but now there were no signs of any civilization at all. Was this what they called the Cosmic Law? Everything was just an illusion; both the past and future were false—only this moment could not be denied.
Unconsciously glancing at the Electronic Calendar, Yu Tian was startled, and seeing this, Water raised its head to look at its big brother, thinking something significant had happened.
"How can it be so fast? Has a whole year passed?" Looking at the Electronic Calendar, Yu Tian was astonished and speechless. Initially, he had sensed that he would only spend a couple of months experiencing the Otherworld, but now time told him that a full year had completely passed—exactly three hundred sixty-five days, neither more nor less.
"What do you mean by a year? Is that your unit of time measurement?" Water seemed a bit clueless at first but surprisingly guessed correctly. However, no matter how much time it spent thinking about it, it couldn't figure out how long a year actually was. So Yu Tian replied, "It's three hundred sixty-five days..."
"And how long is three hundred sixty-five days?" Water insisted on getting to the bottom of things!
"That's one year..." Yu Tian was focused on driving and answered without thinking. By the time he realized what he had said, it was too late. Water's thoughts were now more tangled than ever!
"Big Brother, I really admire you! You didn't explain anything! Forget it; from now on, when we reach our destination in a day, just remind me then!" After saying this, Water lay down, licked its paws, washed its face, and buried its mouth into the cushion of its seat.
"Alright... can you accompany me to one place first? But you have to stay here and sleep without wandering off while I take care of some business. Can you do that? If not, I'll send you back immediately..." Of course, Water had no objections to Yu Tian's plan.
Little Ru's thoughts were still somewhat muddled; it felt as if something was vying for attention with it. This caused Little Ru to briefly numb Yu Tian's spirit.
At that moment, Yu Tian felt like he was in a bind; if he shouted out loud, it would definitely attract Water's attention. Then Little Ru would surely wake up immediately. If that happened, the playful antics between a dragon and a wolf might even ruin this newly modified spaceship...
He held back and placed another small suppression on Little Ru. Then he piloted the spaceship through the atmosphere toward the technology headquarters.
"Lin, are you alright?" Yu Tian didn't forget to make brief communication with Lin.
"Yeah, I'm fine... Tian, are you back?" Lin's voice sounded weak, which made Yu Tian feel even more guilty.
"I'll be back soon... I promise within a day..." That was his plan.
"That's good. I'll make a nice meal for you today. You haven't been back for so long; you must have suffered quite a bit..."
"Yeah... I promise!" Yu Tian's eyes were filled with tears. He gritted his teeth and decisively hung up the call. The technology center was right in front of him.
After a year of improvements, the docking port for the center's spacecraft had become much more harmonious. Yu Tian quickly found a docking spot and landed the ship.
After repeatedly reminding Shui Er not to wander off, and receiving her solemn assurance, Yu Tian finally exited the spacecraft and locked it securely.
He hurried towards Dr. S's personal office, where only the doctor was present at that moment. Yu Tian knocked on the door and walked in.
"Yu Tian, you've been gone for so long. Have you found that power?" Dr. S set down the documents he was holding.
"Um... Doctor, is the machine you made to extract past life memories from genes ready?" Yu Tian asked straightforwardly.
"Well... it can allow you to relive past experiences, but you must remember not to try to change anything. Otherwise, you'll alter your own genes, and some functions of those genes are still not well understood. So, you must be careful; you can only be an observer and let everything unfold naturally," Dr. S said as he stood up. He knew this day would come sooner or later and had been prepared for it.
"Alright then, let's get started right away... It's been a year since I've been home; I want to go back soon..."
"You miss Lin, don't you?"
"Yes, exactly... So let's hurry up and begin!"
