One second to remember this, providing you with exciting novel reading.
After finally gathering the courage to commit a crime and steal a car, they found that none of them could drive. As they exchanged glances, Mi Xiaonan shouted, "Bone Dragon."
"Run, run!" The three of them jumped out of the car and quickly dashed into the supermarket. Although they managed to avoid the Bone Dragon, they wasted ten minutes in the process.
Cui Ming pulled out a map. "Stealing the car is not going to work. This area is an open park, and if we force our way through, we will definitely encounter the Bone Dragon. There are no buildings around here; it will take us at least ten minutes to get through these two locations."
"What should we do?" Mi Xiaonan asked.
Cui Ming folded the map. "Brother, it's time to feed the dragon."
Li Qing said, "Feeding the dragon is fine, but can you handle the Ghoul?"
"No," Cui Ming and Mi Xiaonan answered in unison. Cui Ming added, "But we can confirm whether the Ghoul is at the hospital or the crematorium. Let's split up our calculations. If Beiyue and Ding Ze can't defeat the Ghoul, and if it's at the crematorium, we won't be able to save them. If Beiyue and Ding Ze can handle the Ghoul, I can sacrifice myself to determine its location. Mi Xiaonan will follow me while Beiyue and Ding Ze return; the three of us will ambush the Ghoul. From both strategic and tactical perspectives, Mi Xiaonan and I must go to the hospital."
Li Qing nodded. "Let's go." In the first half of the game, everyone respawns after each mission, but deaths directly affect personnel and scores.
...
Within every person lies an angel and a devil; a bad person's occasional kindness is what an angel does. But what about good people? There are many standards for being good: obeying laws, helping the elderly and children, doing good deeds daily—helping others counts too. Generally speaking, good people have far more constraints than bad ones. Often, when a good person's inner demon is unleashed, it can be incredibly fierce.
Looking at Li Qing as he passed through walls instead of doors, leaping from one high-rise building to another and kicking through walls before flying out through glass. A female employee who blocked his path flew out of the window alongside him.
"That's too cruel," Mi Xiaonan and Cui Ming on either side sighed as they grabbed their walkie-talkies.
"Feeding the dragon requires attracting its attention."
"The dragon is coming," Mi Xiaonan reported.
Li Qing received this information and began jumping off protruding objects from a high-rise building below him, successfully drawing the Bone Dragon's attention as it swooped down. With a burst of speed, Li Qing shot across to the opposite building like a beam of light. The Bone Dragon flapped its wings and pursued him.
"Run!" Li Qing shouted.
Mi Xiaonan and Cui Ming dashed out of the building, sprinting madly toward the hospital. Cui Ming estimated it would take him eight minutes to cross this open area. Mi Xiaonan was faster; he was about three hundred meters beside Cui Ming. Looking back in shock, he grabbed his walkie-talkie and yelled, "Cui Ming, it's coming your way!"
Cui Ming turned around and saw the Bone Dragon chasing closely behind. He grabbed the walkie-talkie and asked, "Is my senior brother dead?"
"Dead my ass! The Buddha is chasing this big lizard!" Li Qing exclaimed, confusion evident on his face. "Why are you ignoring me? Do you really think I'm a pushover?"
"Now's not the time for such pointless questions," Cui Ming shouted, his voice rising in urgency. "Help!"
It was bad news; they were in an open area, and the Bone Dragon swooped down rapidly towards Cui Ming. Mi Xiaonan and Li Qing were too far away to help. Just then, a figure emerged from behind a large tree ahead—Wind. He lowered his head, holding a Katana in his left hand, flicking it with his thumb before gripping the hilt tightly. Suddenly, he sprinted towards the Bone Dragon, letting out a fierce roar. As he closed in on the Bone Dragon, just ten meters away, Wind drew his sword and vanished in an instant, reappearing above the Bone Dragon's head. His Katana danced wildly, slashing down like fireworks exploding around the creature's skull. With the momentum of the Bone Dragon, Wind carved countless cuts into its body. In just two or three seconds, Wind and the Bone Dragon passed each other. He landed gracefully, raising the sword sheath high with his left hand while kneeling on his right knee, holding the Katana horizontally as he waited silently.
A thunderous sound echoed as the Bone Dragon crashed to the ground, rolling forward and demolishing park facilities in its wake. Only then did Wind stand up, spinning his Katana once before sheathing it with a sharp clang. The wind brushed against his clothing as he strode forward without looking back.
"Watch out!" Cui Ming's voice called out.
Wind turned to see that the Bone Dragon had gotten back up completely unharmed, ignoring Cui Ming and charging straight at him. He took off running...
"Draw a Line to Trap!" Cui Ming shouted as he threw a Yellow Card into the air. The massive body of the Bone Dragon was suddenly ensnared mid-flight and crashed down to the ground. However, due to its momentum, it still veered towards Wind.
Li Qing rushed in and kicked Wind away just in time; his Golden Bell Shield collided with the Bone Dragon. Wind was sent flying backward. "This little reptile is so arrogant; let’s take it down!"
Looking at their numbers, Wind's teammates had arrived—Eva and Raefus were among them. Cui Ming was taken aback; hadn't Wind intercepted these two earlier? Hadn't he applied to join the assessment before that? How could he be on a team with Eva? Cui Ming didn't understand that nowadays assessments had random allocations. Applications: I have no team. Eva's group applied but didn't have enough members. This was called a free agent team; if you could gather people together, great; if not, come back in five years.
"Examiner Dina's voice came from above: 'Foul! Foul! No assisting other teams or communicating with them!'"
"Ninjutsu! Thunderbolt!" Mi Xiaonan had returned to join the fight; with such a large dragon, Chidori would easily hit its mark. As soon as she formed her hand signs, she activated Thunderbolt. The Bone Dragon had only risen five meters when it wasn't stunned but was paralyzed for several seconds before crashing back down.
Then came Raefus's most powerful move; he dashed in front of the Bone Dragon with a shotgun in hand. The weapon changed color rapidly from black to red; when it turned bright red, Raefus fired. The recoil sent him flying back several dozen meters, crashing through two trees along the way. Countless lead pellets erupted from the shotgun and struck the side of the Bone Dragon's massive body, sending it soaring into the air while completing three full rotations before crashing down hard enough to flatten grass, benches, and even rock formations in that area.
At that moment, a group hurried past from the side—it was Cao Family and Liu Family teams led by Cao Yi. Cao Yi glanced over here briefly; slowing down slightly as a Liu Family woman beside him said something. Cao Yi made an apologetic gesture before continuing forward.
The Bone Dragon roared in fury, flapping its wings as it glared at the six people surrounding it. It charged at Cui Ming, who exclaimed in shock: "Are you kidding me? Do you think I'm easy to bully?" He was currently at the edge of the park nearest to some buildings and immediately ran toward them.
The Bone Dragon pursued relentlessly while everyone else followed suit; both groups were determined to confront this Bone Dragon head-on, disregarding all rules.
Cui Ming spotted a building fifty meters away but realized he wouldn't make it in time. Suddenly there was a loud noise as someone burst out from the twentieth floor—gripping a Greatsword with both hands and plunging downward with the blade facing downwards.
Cui Ming ran forward as the dragon approached; just as he reached them, the Greatsword pierced through the Bone Dragon's body completely.
"Yellen!" Mi Xiaonan called out.
Yellen remained unfazed, gripping the sword hilt tightly as she shouted, her entire body swelling with Force. However, an invisible wall blocked her, like a balloon reaching its critical point. The Force ignited, creating a momentary sensation of suffocation among everyone present. "Kill!" Yellen commanded. The swelling Force found an outlet, surging into the Greatsword and flooding into the Bone Dragon. A tremendous explosion followed, as countless bone fragments erupted from the Bone Dragon's body like a whale spouting water. Yellen was propelled by this force, landing and rolling several times before rising to her feet, holding the Greatsword fiercely as she glared at the Bone Dragon.
The Bone Dragon writhed in pain, spinning in place and spewing fire wildly. Suddenly, it lunged at Yellen. A cold glint had been waiting for this moment; Ye Xin made her entrance, brandishing a spear that slithered toward the Bone Dragon like a snake. As the spear tip struck the ground, Ye Xin spun her body, and her spear drilled into the Bone Dragon, lifting it into the air while showering down powdered bone fragments.
Ye Xin landed just as the Bone Dragon crashed back down. Yellen was already there, bringing the Greatsword crashing down onto the Bone Dragon's head. The impact caused its skull to cave in slightly, but the Bone Dragon retaliated by swinging its head and knocking Yellen aside, its head pressing down toward her. Cui Minghong's red card flew out: "Burn the boats." In an instant, Yellen's Force surged dramatically; she gripped the sword with her left hand and the hilt with her right, managing to hold back the Bone Dragon's weight.
Mi Xiaonan leaped onto the Bone Dragon's back, quickly forming hand seals before slapping her palm against its spine. "Ninjutsu Secret Technique: Thunderstorm." A fist-sized ball of lightning appeared in her palm, rapidly spinning and emitting countless bolts of electricity that struck the Bone Dragon with loud cracks. Fragments of bone were blasted away by the lightning. The Bone Dragon struggled to move, barely managing to turn its head as it completely lost its ability to resist.
"Slash." Feng leaped up with both hands gripping his Katana, his body taking on a blade-like form infused with wind power—the force capable of cutting through anything. The Katana struck precisely at the Bone Dragon's neck, cleaving through most of its skull but failing to sever it completely.
Li Qing executed a spinning kick and settled into a horse stance before delivering a powerful punch to the Bone Dragon's head: "Heavenly Thunder Break." A distinct sound of bones cracking echoed through the air. Raefus arrived next; this time his gun barrel glowed red as a massive round shot forth, exploding upon impact within the Bone Dragon's eye socket. Countless lead pellets burst outward from within, finally overwhelming the Bone Dragon's head. The rotational force twisted it off completely; its head was sent flying over ten meters away while its massive body collapsed motionless on the ground.
The three groups exchanged glances without speaking and turned away to resume their own tasks. Only Dina's voice echoed from above: "Foul! Foul!"
Beside her, President remarked, "Alright, Nana, that's enough. Each team will lose ten points for fouling." His next words were directed at the referee nearby. Did this deduction even matter? It was subjective scoring; if the referee favored these three teams and added ten points for them, then deducting points would be meaningless.
At that moment, a bald middle-aged man beside President commented, "These young people are quite impressive."
"Indeed," President agreed. "The Ye Family has two of their four champions here; it's normal for them to have such strength. Li Qing’s prowess speaks for itself; Raefus’s abilities are beyond my expectations—his one-on-one strength is likely on par with any Alliance Hunter. Mi Xiaonan from the York Clan has explosive power; not only does she deal damage but also control—if we disregard Force equivalence, she could directly electrocute the Bone Dragon to death."
"This technique has prerequisites; six seals trigger Ultimate Thunderstorm," said the bald man. "049 is Strategy, right? Judging by their Force equivalence, they seem to be newcomers." (To be continued.)
