In the early morning, sunlight streamed into the room. When Garen woke up, a sharp pain throbbed in his head. He vaguely remembered the raging inferno at the Black Dragon Mountain Range gradually dissipating, and Sundgoth disappearing from sight. With extraordinary willpower, he had led Yasthia and the Newbies out of the mountains... As for the details of that time, they were already a blur.
Sitting up in bed, Garen pinched the bridge of his nose with force. If it hadn't been for the sudden awakening of his Resilience skill, he might have faced dire consequences on this journey.
Thinking of this, Garen quickly pulled up the System Panel.

Garen was somewhat astonished.
The effectiveness of the Resilience skill was evidently remarkable; recovering nearly half of his health in just ten minutes was almost comparable to high-level healing magic, something most First Level mages could not achieve. It was precisely because of this that Garen had managed to withstand Sundgoth's attacks!
However, this was somewhat expected; what truly surprised Garen was that he had actually leveled up!
But upon reflection, Garen felt a sense of relief. After all, he was already at the peak of level seven, and although the journey to the Black Dragon Mountain Range had been perilous, it had also been a significant trial.
Moreover, it was easy to understand why the Venomfang Blade had dropped from a near Second Rank to a lower Second Rank. After prolonged use, the blade's power had long since diminished from its original strength.
Garen threw on a robe and got out of bed, stretching his limbs until the tingling sensation in his body subsided.

One thousand four hundred gold coins was quite a substantial amount. With this windfall, the First Phase Project of the Watchtower would likely face no further issues.
Of course, to utilize this money effectively, Garen still needed to resolve the new steel procurement problem and labor issues. The Aurelia Alliance would not easily back down before the Feast Night concluded.
The dining table appeared to have been tidied up and was very clean. On the tablecloth sat a glass of room-temperature milk, two slices of fresh bread, a vegetable salad, and a sandwich.
Clearly, someone had come in. It wasn't hard to guess that it must have been Yasthia.
Garen paused for a moment to address his lunch issue before heading to the room diagonally across from him.
After knocking for the third time, the door opened to reveal Yasthia, her eyes heavy with fatigue and looking somewhat haggard as if she hadn't slept all night.
The room's decor was minimalist, indicating that Yasthia was skilled in matters of living. The entire space gave off a fresh and comfortable impression.
"Are you here to ask me about the Heart of Agou?" Yasthia poured two glasses of water.
In the Black Dragon Mountain Range, Garen found Sundgoth's retreat puzzling. However, upon serious contemplation, he realized there were only a few possibilities, with the most likely being that mysterious black stone.
Seeing Yasthia get straight to the point, Garen nodded.
"I'm sorry, I can't reveal too much..." Yasthia hesitated for a moment. "The Heart of Agou is a treasure passed down through my family; more accurately, it is a relic left by my ancestors."
"So the blood clan is hunting you for it?"
"That's part of the reason," Yasthia seemed reluctant to divulge more.
Having confirmed that Sundgoth had indeed retreated because of the Heart of Agou, Garen decided not to press further and shifted the topic, engaging in casual conversation for a while.
After returning from the Black Dragon Mountain Range yesterday, the Newbies had gradually gone home. This experience was bound to be unforgettable for them. Even Yasthia, who had seen much of the world, was touched by Garen's final words and actions. Throughout their conversation, she expressed her admiration more than once.
What surprised her the most was Garen's resilience. Under Sundgoth's dragon flame attack, Garen had sustained severe injuries. Even Yasthia believed that healing magic would have limited effectiveness, estimating it would take at least six months for him to recover.
However, they hadn't even reached the town when Garen's burns had already healed significantly...
Garen did not mention his skill "Resilience," instead deflecting with other excuses.
"Then what is the purpose of this Heart of Agou?" Garen asked.
"Well... its power is incredibly strong, but with my current abilities, I can't awaken it yet..." Yasthia trusted Garen deeply and spoke candidly. "It might have awakened on its own for a moment, which scared Sundgoth away..."
An item that could make the blood clan relentless was undoubtedly a priceless treasure.
However, when Yasthia explicitly stated that Sundgoth was "scared away," Garen still felt surprised.
"The good news is that after its awakening yesterday, I may be able to master some of its abilities..." Yasthia held the black stone in her hand. "But I still need some time."
Clearly, Yasthia had spent the entire night studying the Heart of Agou without sleep.

"Magic Armor?" Garen was taken aback and immediately opened the Holy War System panel.
He noticed that in the Ability Skill section, the skill "Courage" had vanished, replaced by a brand new skill—
Magic Armor: Second Rank skill. It can summon Rune Armor, absorbing up to 25% of damage, with duration depending on the host's Fighting Spirit.
On the surface, this new skill seemed similar to Courage, but upon closer inspection, it was evident that this skill far surpassed Courage. While Courage merely mitigated damage—essentially weakening the opponent's attacks—Magic Armor absorbed damage entirely, meaning it could completely nullify a portion of incoming attacks!
Having become familiar with the Holy War System, Garen no longer felt frustrated by such "defensive" skills. A tank is a tank; at least when facing enemies like Sundgoth again, it would prove to be highly effective.
However, one thing left Garen puzzled.
According to the System's prompt, it seemed that at that very moment, someone had awakened Garen's Brave Soul, which was why he received this reward.
Who could that person be?
The night had grown late, and rain was falling outside the window. Just as Garen pondered this, there was a sudden knock at the door.
He opened it.
Standing at the entrance was Rody, drenched from head to toe.
