Wei Chen stared at Mu Qingyan with a curious expression, realizing why she felt a sense of familiarity upon seeing her for the first time.
With that name associated with the Ancient Spirit Academy, it was hard for Wei Chen not to think of Musa.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Mu Qingyan asked softly.
Wei Chen shifted his gaze and chuckled bitterly, "Your brother is still in the Eastern Wasteland fighting for territory with the people from Ancient Spirit Academy, right?"
"Ah, yes! How did you know?" Mu Qingyan's mouth dropped open in surprise.
Wei Chen sighed, "So it's true. Musa is your real brother?"
"Yes, do you know him?" Mu Qingyan looked at Wei Chen in confusion. To her, Wei Chen and her brother Musa seemed like two completely different types of people, making it hard to imagine any connection between them.
Wei Chen nodded. "I met him when I was in Wushuang City. He and I shared the city; I took eighty percent of the profits while he took twenty."
"I see. My brother is incredibly flamboyant and loves to put on a show, presenting himself in various forms. Knowing him is quite unfortunate," Mu Qingyan pouted, not having a very high opinion of Musa.
But she quickly continued, "Actually, my brother is a good person. He cares for me deeply. Don't be fooled by his disguises; he has a kind heart and isn't a bad person."
"I know. He just likes to earn money by any means necessary. Someone like him makes a good friend; otherwise, if you become enemies, it can be quite painful," Wei Chen replied with a smile.
Mu Qingyan beamed sweetly and said, "That's right! Since my brother is your friend, then I guess we can be friends too?"
"Of course," Wei Chen nodded.

Wei Chen rummaged through his bag again and pulled out a whole box of crystal-clear water beads. He introduced them: "These are Exploding Water Pearls. They don't have much killing power but are very effective against Soul Warriors. Each one can explode into three streams of water; when many explode together, that's quite a lot of water."
Both Condensation Pearls and Exploding Water Pearls are items created by Soul Warriors with water attribute Martial Souls. They don't require a high level of cultivation; as long as one learns suitable Soul Techniques, they can produce them. Many Soul Warriors carry some Condensation Pearls and Exploding Water Pearls for practical uses—Condensation Pearls for bathing in places without water and Exploding Water Pearls for drinking water.
"These powders are equivalent to knockout drugs, but their effects are even stronger. We'll first lure the Flamingo into the cave and then sprinkle these powders inside. It should induce a slight fainting effect, which would be beneficial."

A few minutes later, they reached the summit area, where an open space appeared, scattered with some fiery red feathers.
"This should be the spot. Focus and look for the cave," Wei Chen called out, disregarding any gender boundaries. His mind was solely focused on dealing with the Flamingo; he didn't consider anything else. Fearing that Mu Qingyan might mess things up, he reached out and grabbed her hand.
His large hand enveloped hers, a warm sensation coursing through him. Wei Chen felt a stir in his heart but quickly suppressed it and continued forward.
Mu Qingyan's face flushed, her heart racing like a flood as she followed closely behind Wei Chen, her thoughts becoming muddled.
"How can he be like this?"
"He doesn't know that men and women shouldn't have physical contact?"
"No man has ever held my hand!"
"But this feeling... it's so warm and comfortable."
Mu Qingyan was lost in thought, completely becoming a burden.
After searching for a while, finally, a two-meter-high cave appeared in Wei Chen's sight.
Wei Chen pulled Mu Qingyan to the edge of the cave but hesitated to enter. The power of the Sixth-Rank Monster was no joke; even a casual breath of fire from the Flamingo could turn him into charcoal.
"Listen to me, don't move for now." To keep his voice as low as possible, Wei Chen leaned close to Mu Qingyan's ear, his lips almost touching her earlobe.
Mu Qingyan shivered all over, goosebumps rising on her neck, and her ears turned as red as blood.
She looked up at Wei Chen, her beautiful eyes filled with mist. After just a brief glance, she bit her lip lightly and shyly lowered her head.
Wei Chen had no understanding of a woman's mindset at all.
He bent over, sticking his head into the cave to observe the situation inside. The cave wasn't deep, about a hundred meters long. At the back, a fiery red bird lay on the ground, looking weak and on the verge of collapse.
"It's about the size of a table. The air inside is scorching; it must be the Flamingo," Wei Chen speculated. After glancing a few more times, he frowned and said, "What is it doing? With such heat, shouldn't the Flamingo be basking in the sun outside?"
"Could it be that it's been helping me? Is it injured?"

Didn't you come all the way from Linghuang City to find something? The thing you want must be in this cave."

Mu Qingyan glared at Wei Chen fiercely. After a few breaths, she stopped crying, and a sudden flush appeared on her delicate face as she lowered her head in silence.
"This woman changes moods faster than anything else; I'm going crazy." Wei Chen felt an overwhelming frustration building up inside him.
"You are bullying me! You held my hand, you kissed my ear, and just now... you even pressed your butt against me!"
