"I thought you were some kind of expert. With your Spirit Realm Level Three strength, you dare to come here?"
"Kid, be honest and tell me who is in the convoy. If you cooperate and hand everything over, maybe we can spare your life."
"No need for so much chatter. Just take him down."
The three of them formed a triangular formation around Wei Chen, feeling confident that capturing him was a sure thing.
The strength of the three was around the sixth and seventh levels of the Spirit Realm, which wasn't very strong.
A cold smile appeared on Wei Chen's lips as he said, "You three punks think you can take me down?"
"Oh? Not strong but still so cocky? Kid, have you looked in the mirror? With your little Soul Power Realm, do you think you're impressive?"
"Take him back and hand him over to the boss for interrogation. The Rolling Stone Formation has been broken; someone must take responsibility! Be careful not to kill him; otherwise, we won't be able to report back to the boss."
The three of them brazenly tightened their encirclement. As they moved closer, they caught sight of a pair of icy cold eyes.
In an instant, a dangerous aura emanated from Wei Chen's fingertips. Before they could react, ten streams of energy from his Silent Extinction Finger pierced through the abdomen of two of them, leaving five bloody holes in each of their stomachs as they stumbled and fell.
"You'd better not run; otherwise, you'll end up like them," Wei Chen said to the last remaining person in a chilling tone.
That person was horrified, staring at Wei Chen in disbelief. Was he seeing things? A Spirit Realm Level Three kid could actually unleash a Sixth-Rank Soul Skill in an instant?
Rubbing his eyes, he realized this was no illusion and quickly turned to flee in panic.
"Looking for death!"
Wei Chen spread his wings and in the blink of an eye caught up to the fleeing man. Ten streams of finger power shot into his joints, causing him to scream in agony as he collapsed to the ground, terrified as he looked up at Wei Chen descending upon him.
"Spare me! Please spare me!"
"Stop whining. I won't kill you. Just answer a few questions honestly, and I won't take your life."
The situation turned around in just a few breaths for Wei Chen.
"Please, go ahead," the man forced a smile through the excruciating pain. His limbs were pierced by Wei Chen's attacks, leaving him without any fighting strength, reduced to nothing more than a fish on Wei Chen's chopping block.
"Are you from the Sand Wolf Gang?"
"Yes, yes, please, Your Excellency, show mercy and spare my life."
A glimmer of hope appeared in the man's eyes as he thought that perhaps the name of the Sand Wolf Gang could intimidate this terrifying figure.
"Enough noise!"
Wei Chen struck out with an open palm, and the man let out a horrific scream as several of his teeth flew out.
"I ask what I want to know; you answer without any nonsense."
"Yes, yes, I understand my mistake."
"Good. What is your boss, Sand Wolf's, strength?"
"Spirit Wisdom Realm Level Five."
"Why are you trying to set up the Rolling Stone Formation?"
"To rob; killing you would allow us to obtain a large amount of wealth."
Wei Chen sneered as he stepped closer to the man and brutally stomped down on his knee. With a sickening crunch, the man howled in madness.
His knee was completely shattered under Wei Chen's foot.
"I'll ask you one last time: who hired you?" Wei Chen demanded fiercely.
From the initial conversation among the three men, Wei Chen had deduced that their target was not money but rather Elegant's sister from the convoy. They might not even know who she was; they were likely just pawns in someone else's scheme.
The man remained stubbornly silent, and Wei Chen raised his foot again, crushing his other knee.
"If you don't speak, I'll break your hands and feet, and you'll become a useless person," Wei Chen's voice was as terrifying as a demon from hell.
"I-I was bought off by someone from the Ancient Spirit Academy. I don't know the specifics; only Sand Wolf knows."
"Where is Sand Wolf?"
"The boss is resting at the Base of Operations. He was planning to come over tomorrow morning when your convoy leaves."
Wei Chen asked for the location of the Base of Operations, then decisively snapped the man's neck.
"You fool, did you really think I would spare your life? You all must die."
Wei Chen stood still, his expression showing great struggle and conflict.
"Why does the Ancient Spirit Academy want to deal with Dingsheng Trading Company? The situation is becoming increasingly complicated."
"My relationship with the Ancient Spirit Academy is limited to the Mu Family Siblings; I have no ties with anyone else. Right now, I am a guest under Dingsheng Trading Company and should do my best for them; that is my duty."
"The Sand Wolf Gang has many members, and Sand Wolf is a Spirit Wisdom Realm Level Five expert. It's very risky for me to go there easily. But if I don't go, I won't be able to leave tomorrow."
Wei Chen felt quite troubled; he simply didn't have the strength to enter the Sand Wolf Gang's Base of Operations and do anything.
"Wei Chen, are you in trouble?"
A woman's voice suddenly appeared behind Wei Chen.
Startled, Wei Chen instinctively flashed away to a distance.
"Ni Junlin?"
As he regained his composure, joy spread across Wei Chen's face. This woman had disappeared for such a long time and appeared so suddenly that he almost made a move against her.
"Please, can you not stand behind me and talk?"
Wei Chen let out a helpless smile as he returned to Ni Junlin's side. It had been a while since they last met, and she was still the same, always playing tricks.
"Alright." Ni Junlin nodded slightly, scrutinizing Wei Chen for a moment before saying, "You've broken through two realms. You can ask me two more questions, so cherish this opportunity."
Wei Chen fell into silence. There were so many questions he wanted to ask, but he could only choose two. He had to make this chance count.
After a long pause, Wei Chen raised his head and gazed at Ni Junlin, asking, "What exactly am I?"
"You are the Peerless Demon Lotus of Hua Xia World. Among all demon races, you are the strongest; you are the sovereign king and the leader of the demon race."
Ni Junlin's eyes sparkled with fervor as she recalled the glorious days when Demon Lotus led the demon race into battle.
"Demon race? How is it different from the demons in Soul World?" Wei Chen accepted his identity calmly. From the moment he entered the realm of souls as Demon Lotus, he understood that his fate was no longer like that of ordinary people.
"They are completely different races. The demons in Soul World can be considered part of humanity, while my demon race encompasses all beings outside of humanity. In Hua Xia World, all beings can absorb the earth's energy to refine themselves until they take on human form; that is the true demon race," Ni Junlin explained lightly.
Wei Chen was taken aback. This was truly remarkable!
"Then how did I come to this world, and how did you come to this world?"
"That question will have to wait until you reach Spirit Wisdom Realm. Don't forget, you've already asked your two questions."
"What? Does that count?" Wei Chen was speechless, having wasted an opportunity asking about what a demon race was.
"Of course it counts," Ni Junlin replied matter-of-factly before adding with a smile, "Reaching Spirit Wisdom Realm isn't difficult. I believe it won't be long before you ascend to Spirit Wisdom Realm."
Before Wei Chen could respond, Ni Junlin smiled brightly and said, "By the way, I should tell you that I've regained some of my strength. Right now, my power is equivalent to the third level of Earth Soul Realm in this world. It's not particularly strong, but it's enough for me to accomplish some tasks in Ling City."
"That's great!" Wei Chen's mind raced as he quickly put on a flattering expression and said with a charming smile, "Sister, could you help me save someone?"
"No," Ni Junlin shook her head in refusal. "I won't help you unless you're in life-threatening danger. I've been following you; you're doing fine without any life-threatening situations, so I haven't made my presence known."
"Then why are you here now?"
"I'm just giving you a chance to ask me questions," Ni Junlin rolled his eyes.
Wei Chen hurriedly said, "Help me out one more time, and then we'll deal with the current crisis."
"Crisis?" Ni Junlin pouted. "Is it that Sand Wolf Gang?"
"Yes, if you don't help me, going to the Sand Wolf Gang would be a dead end for me. You can't just stand by and watch me die, right?"
"Fine, I'll help you this once. The next time I show up will be when you enter the Spirit Wisdom Realm."
With that, Ni Junlin's eyes held a hint of jealousy as he coldly said, "You might want to study that stone a bit more; maybe it will lead you into that space. The women inside can help you enhance your strength. Right now, your need for Soul Power is immense. You'll gradually realize that in the later stages, the amount of Soul Power required to advance a level will be over ten times that of an ordinary person. Even Soul Stones will only provide limited assistance."
"In fact, when you reach the Human Soul Realm, Earth Soul Realm, or even the Soul Realm, the Soul Power needed for breakthroughs could be dozens of times that of an average person."
Hearing this, Wei Chen couldn't help but smile bitterly; he had already realized this without waiting for the future.
"Can you tell me what exactly is going on?" Wei Chen asked with a wry smile.
Ni Junlin shook his head again. "You'll understand; this will only benefit you and won't bring any harm. Sometimes, advancing too quickly in the Soul Power Realm isn't necessarily a good thing."
"Alright then, I’ll need your help to get through this immediate challenge; I'm out of options."
In a valley over twenty miles from Last Chance, there were many low houses and a population of over ten thousand.
It was bustling with activity; around countless bonfires, burly men were drinking and fighting, occasionally interrupted by the screams of women.
Wei Chen and Ni Junlin hovered above the valley and heard those women's cries. Ni Junlin's expression turned icy. "These scum don’t even spare women?"
"So-called horse bandits specialize in robbery; everything they eat and use is stolen, and women are no exception. The Ling Sheng Dynasty is vast and appears prosperous, but it harbors plenty of filth beneath its surface. Such bandit groups are as common as dirt in the Ling Sheng Dynasty," Wei Chen lamented.
"Their strength isn't even that great. Any Major Force from Ling City could easily send a team to wipe them out. Why aren't they doing anything?" Ni Junlin exclaimed angrily.
Wei Chen shrugged helplessly and said, "The Major Forces in Ling City are too busy fighting for power and profit to care about the lives of these people. This world is cruel, and there are too many who need help. If you come across someone in need, it’s fine to lend a hand, but do you really have the time to seek out the weak to save them?"
Ni Junlin's eyes were cold, and she said nothing.
"These people all deserve to die. If you want to kill them, wait until they finish moving the stones from Last Chance. The urgent matter is to control Sand Wolf and have him order his men to move the stones."
"Do as you wish, but I want to kill them all."
"With so many people, can you really handle it?"
"You will see the power of the Earth Soul Realm."
Ni Junlin glanced at Wei Chen with indifference before forming seals with her palms. A snake emerged from her palm.
Wei Chen watched quietly, his eyes gradually filling with astonishment as he saw Ni Junlin continuously summon snakes that flew in all directions around the valley. Throughout this process, not a trace of Soul Power was released, and those inside the valley were completely unaware.
After a while, the entire area around the valley was filled with countless snakes. Ni Junlin danced gracefully, her hands twisting rapidly. Finally, she brought her palms together, a sinister smile appearing between her brows. Suddenly, all those snakes exploded, shooting forth brilliant rays of colorful light.
"Flowering Array!"
