Two months and eleven days later, Wei Chen had completely reshaped Senior Sea God's understanding.
At first, Senior Sea God thought it would take Wei Chen one or two years. Then he revised it to six months, and finally narrowed it down to three months, believing that was the limit.
It should be noted that within three months, every reduction in time was extremely difficult. The three-month timeframe was meticulously calculated by Senior Sea God, who felt that if Wei Chen could complete the process of refining and absorbing the Heart of the God in that time, it would already be quite remarkable.
Yet, Wei Chen surprised him once again.
"Child, how did you do it? How is your Mental Strength so strong? I clearly felt that your Mental Strength was average; it shouldn't be that powerful!" Senior Sea God stared at Wei Chen in astonishment and hurriedly asked.
Wei Chen smiled slightly and replied, "Senior Sea God, I have some special methods that allow my Mental Strength to grow rapidly. Please excuse me."
To control a realm, Mental Strength is paramount. Without strong Mental Strength, one cannot refine the Heart of the World or absorb another's Heart of the God so quickly.
In Senior Sea God's eyes, Wei Chen's miracle was utterly unimaginable.
He truly couldn't comprehend it at all.
"You really are something. Next up is gathering Divine Power. You need to hurry; my life is in your hands," Senior Sea God said seriously as he looked at Wei Chen.
Beneath his serious demeanor, Senior Sea God was actually quite calm. The speed at which Wei Chen could refine and absorb the Heart of the God meant that gathering Divine Power wouldn't take long either. His confidence in Wei Chen was now absolute.
Wei Chen nodded and said, "Senior, my family elders are worried and should be coming to find me soon. Allow me to step out for a moment to explain some matters to them."
"Are you really foolish or just pretending?" Senior Sea God looked at Wei Chen with exasperation.
Wei Chen was taken aback. What did that mean?
"Senior Sea God, what do you mean?" Wei Chen asked with a fawning expression.
Senior Sea God replied irritably, "You are now the Boundary God of this Demon Realm. Do you really need to step outside to talk to anyone?"
"But my Divine Power is still very weak," Wei Chen said.
"Weak? Heh, no matter how weak it is, it's still Divine Power!" The Senior Sea God paused for a moment and continued, "Now try communicating with someone you want to talk to; no matter where they are, they will be able to hear you."
"Is it really that amazing?" Wei Chen asked in surprise.
"Of course! A dignified Boundary God should at least have this ability. If not, you might as well just die," the Senior Sea God replied irritably.
Feeling awkward, Wei Chen scratched his head and tentatively reached out to Demon Lotus Emperor, thinking quietly, "Can you hear me, Demon Lotus Emperor?"
Far away, in the estate of the Red Demon Tribe leader's family, the Demon Lotus Emperor was startled when he suddenly heard Wei Chen's voice.
He jumped up quickly, looking around and extending his mental awareness to search for any sign of Wei Chen.
The Demon Lotus Emperor showed a look of panic and thought to himself, "Where are you? You've improved your cultivation; you can even evade my Mental Strength detection now."
Hearing the response from Demon Lotus Emperor, Wei Chen was overjoyed, his face lighting up with happiness as he thought, "Take a good look; I'm right behind you."
The Demon Lotus Emperor hurriedly turned around and reached out to grab something, bewildered. "Stop messing with me! Where exactly are you?"
"Hehe, far away yet so close; you just can't see me," Wei Chen said.
"Quit playing tricks on me and come out!" The Demon Lotus Emperor felt a sense of fear creeping in. He couldn't understand why he felt this way; it was as if conversing with Wei Chen through mental energy naturally brought an overwhelming sense of dread.
That feeling struck deep into the soul of the Demon Lotus Emperor.
"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. You seem like you're about to be scared."
With that, Wei Chen cut off the connection with Demon Lotus Emperor. No matter how much he called out, Wei Chen remained silent.
Turning to the Senior Sea God, Wei Chen bowed and said, "Thank you for giving me the Heart of the God. This thing is incredibly useful."
"What nonsense? Your Heart of the God is an object? It's not just an object..." The Senior Sea God was at a loss for words.
"You brat, you have refined my Heart of the God and become the Boundary God of the Demon Realm, yet you are still so lacking? Your current strength isn't that impressive; you could probably take out a hundred top-tier experts in the Demon Realm, but you can freely traverse the Demon Realm and reach anywhere in an instant." The Senior Sea God cast a disdainful glance at Wei Chen, thinking he was such a country bumpkin. Being called a Boundary God with a divine title was no joke.
Wei Chen exclaimed in surprise, "Really?"
"Isn't that obvious? Just try going wherever you want," the Senior Sea God paused before continuing, "And you can command everyone in the entire Demon Realm. Everyone will hear you and dare not disobey. From now on, your words in the Demon Realm are truth; you can do whatever you want, and whoever you wish to die will die."
"That's so powerful! But didn't you say I can only take out a hundred top-tier experts right now?"
"That's in combat, not under the suppression of the Boundary God’s Divine Power. If a thousand top-tier experts from the Demon Realm came together to kill you, you'd be dead. That's just how weak your strength is. But that won't happen because within your Ancestral Realm, everyone will obey you. You can do as you please; no one will harbor any rebellious thoughts."
After hearing the Senior Sea God's explanation, Wei Chen began to understand.
"Senior, can I go out for a while to take care of some matters?" Wei Chen asked respectfully.
The Senior Sea God waved his hand and said, "Go wherever you want. You should have the methods for divine cultivation now. Make sure to absorb more Power of Belief; that's the source of your Divine Power. Once you've gathered enough Divine Power, come back and break through the formation. Staying here won't allow you to absorb much Divine Power."
Wei Chen clasped his fists and said, "Thank you, Senior. I will not disappoint your expectations."
With that, Wei Chen pinpointed the location of the Black Magic Palace in his mind, and in the next moment, he appeared in front of the plaza at Black Magic Palace.
His sudden appearance immediately drew the attention of the Black Magic Clan soldiers.
Seeing that Young Mistress had returned, the soldiers of Black Magic Clan didn't think too much about how Wei Chen had arrived; they all began to shout excitedly. Soon, everyone inside Black Magic Palace knew that Wei Chen had come back.
"Child, you're back!" Dark Mage and Muen rushed over first, followed closely by the high-ranking members of Black Magic Clan.
"Young Mistress, you're back! Did you gain anything?"
"Yes, Young Mistress! We heard you went to explore Sea God Palace; did you have any adventures?"
"Young Mistress, what exactly is Sea God Palace? Is there really a Sea God there?"
“Young Mistress, come with us.”
“Yes, Young Mistress, share with us your experiences at the Sea God Palace.”
The high-ranking members of the Black Magic Clan were all excited. With Wei Chen safely returned and the forces of the Black Magic Clan nearly ready, what could be better? They were preparing to go to war with the Dragon Clan!
Unlike the others, the Dark Mage scrutinized Wei Chen closely. He suddenly noticed that there was an indescribable aura surrounding Wei Chen.
What was it? That aura instilled fear.
It was a kind of reverence for a higher authority.
A higher authority?
The Dark Mage was puzzled. Were there still higher authorities in the demon realm before him?
But what was this aura emanating from Wei Chen?
It was clearly the aura of someone in power!
Muen also sensed the unusual energy surrounding Wei Chen. He felt that this time, upon returning, the Young Mistress possessed a heart-stopping power.
That power filled Muen with awe.
Gradually, the chattering high-ranking members of the Black Magic Clan fell silent.
Their gazes towards Wei Chen shifted from joy to astonishment, and then to reverence.
Including the Dark Mage, one by one, they cast their awed glances at Wei Chen, yet none dared to meet her eyes directly.
That feeling left everyone utterly astonished.
But the surprise was only in their hearts; no one dared to speak up, and no one was willing to take the lead.
Wei Chen observed the expressions of those around him, gradually understanding what it meant to be the Boundary God.
Even if he had nothing else, his identity as the Dark Demon Clan Young Master still held weight. However, the members of the Black Magic Clan now regarded him with a sense of awe. Perhaps they were not fully aware of it; that reverence simply flowed from them naturally.
Wei Chen felt a mix of wanting to laugh and wanting to cry.
In just about a year, he had transformed from the Dark Demon Clan Young Master into the ruler of the Demon Realm, the Boundary God.
It was a strange feeling!
"Grandfather, why are you all looking at me without saying anything?" Wei Chen said with a light smile.
The Dark Mage opened his mouth but found no words to express.
What he wanted to say got stuck in his throat and was swallowed down hard.
The Dark Mage did not understand where his awe came from; it felt frustratingly uncomfortable.
The person standing across from him was his own grandson!
Why should there be any fear?
The Dark Mage couldn't make sense of it, and the others were even more confused.
In any case, even ordinary exchanges became something they hesitated over, and they certainly didn’t dare to joke with Wei Chen anymore.
"Alright then, do you all think I have taken on a different aura?" Wei Chen asked lightly.
The high-ranking members of the Black Magic Clan nodded in unison, not just with a hint of flavor, but with an abundance of it!
Wei Chen smiled wryly, unsure of how to explain himself or whether he should even step forward.
Perhaps this kind of secret was better kept to himself? Otherwise, the seniors before him, who treated him with such deference, would make things less enjoyable.
Yet Wei Chen thought, since it would be exposed sooner or later, why not do it sooner? The earlier he revealed it, the fewer troubles he would have to deal with.
But he didn’t know how to start or where to begin.
As he looked at the high-ranking members of the Black Magic Clan, Wei Chen noticed that when they gazed at him, a portion of their pure Mental Strength—what could be called the Power of Belief—quietly surged into his body. Once that power entered him, it transformed into a white mist and was stored in his Dantian.
Specifically, it was stored within the Heart of the God inside his Dantian.
"So this is what they call the Power of Belief? They emit this Power of Belief just by looking at me?"
"If I haven’t even revealed my identity yet and already have this Power of Belief gathering, wouldn’t there be even more if I did reveal myself?"
Wei Chen made a silent decision: revealing his identity as the Boundary God would be better done sooner rather than later. The sooner he absorbed more Power of Belief, the better chance he had to save Senior Sea God.
Everything he had was given by Senior Sea God. Even if it meant risking everything and pushing himself to the limit, Wei Chen was determined to break that formation and bring Senior Sea God back to his Ancestral Realm.
