Hearing the words of the Senior Sea God, Wei Chen felt both surprised and grateful. He never dreamed that after breaking the formation, there would be so many benefits.
"Senior Sea God, weren't you warning me before that breaking the formation would be dangerous? I'm about to become a First-Level Deity. Even if that Secondary God comes looking for trouble, it shouldn't be a problem, right?" Wei Chen asked.
The Senior Sea God replied, "There shouldn't be too much of a problem. You still have nearly ten thousand years to reach First-Level Deity. Wei Chen nodded at the Senior Sea God and said earnestly, "Senior Sea God, you've given me such a great opportunity. I will protect your Heart of the God and absolutely will not let that Secondary God succeed."
"You mustn't think like that. The Heart of the God is already yours; it has merged into your bloodline. You're not protecting me; you're doing it for yourself," the Senior Sea God said calmly as he looked at Wei Chen.
Wei Chen shrugged casually and decided not to dwell on the matter any longer. If he kept obsessing over it without reaching a conclusion, it would only hinder him.
"Senior, time is short. You should return to your Ancestral Realm to cultivate. Once I become stronger, I'll come visit you in your Ancestral Realm," Wei Chen said to the Senior Sea God.
The Senior Sea God smiled slightly and said, "Child, would you like to visit my Ancestral Realm? My Ancestral Realm's Spatial Plane level is much higher than your Demon Domain and even surpasses the highest level of your Spatial Dimension System—the Ancient World. However, if you can become a False World God in that Ancient World, the Power of Belief you can obtain will exceed what my Ancestral Realm can offer. After all, your Spatial Dimension System has its peculiarities."
Upon hearing this, Wei Chen hesitated for a moment and asked, "Senior Sea God, how long does it take to travel back and forth to your Ancestral Realm?"
"I can tear open a Spatial Tunnel; it will only take a moment."
"How do I get back?"
"Follow the Spatial Tunnel. If you open it yourself, you'll be able to return. I will leave the coordinates for the Spatial Tunnel between your Ancestral Realm of Demons and my Ancestor Realm Mercury. You won't need to expend much Divine Power; you'll be able to travel freely between the two worlds."
"Does that mean, with that Spatial Tunnel, I can visit you anytime?" Wei Chen exclaimed in surprise.
The Senior Sea God smiled and said, "If you have that intention, then yes, you can visit anytime. But I imagine that soon, in your Spatial Dimension System, you'll have some major tasks ahead of you, so you probably won't have much time to see me."
"Senior, you're too kind. I've just become a part of the divine realm and still have much to learn. I'll need to seek your guidance when the time comes," Wei Chen replied respectfully.
The Senior Sea God said, "Let's save that for later. First, let me take you to my Ancestor Realm Mercury."
With that, the Senior Sea God waved his hand, signaling Wei Chen to step aside. Wei Chen watched as he thrust his hands forward as if grasping something and pulled hard to the sides.
Suddenly, a massive opening appeared before Wei Chen.
Looking into that opening revealed nothing but darkness, which felt somewhat foreboding.
The aura emanating from within was thick with a tearing force, as if it were a black hole pulling in all surrounding air.
"Child, this is a Spatial Tunnel. When that Secondary God and I came here years ago, we intended to go to the Nine Immortal Realm but ended up mistakenly arriving in the Demon Domain. To reach the Nine Immortal Realm again, we won't be able to open a second Spatial Tunnel in the short term."
The Senior Sea God smiled gently, his aged face gradually lighting up with joy at the thought of returning to the Ancestral Realm and regaining his status as a high deity; he had every reason to be happy.
"Senior, do we just jump right in?" Wei Chen asked nervously as he gazed at the Spatial Tunnel. After all, it was his first encounter with such a phenomenon. Previously, he had experienced a perilous journey from the Magic Stone Space into the Demon Domain, where Yan Qiqi had fought fiercely to protect him from danger. Without her, Wei Chen would have met his end long ago. During that experience, he had been largely unaware of what was happening; it was Yan Qiqi who bore the brunt of the piercing force and nearly lost her life.
Now faced with this even more powerful Spatial Tunnel and its unsettling tearing force, Wei Chen felt a deep sense of trepidation and hesitated to enter.
"Senior Sea God" smiled lightly and said, "You are using Divine Power to protect yourself. This level of tearing force can't harm you. Even with my old bones, I am not afraid. Why should you be?"
Upon hearing this, Wei Chen felt a bit cowardly. The current Senior Sea God was frighteningly weak, his body frail and appearing like an ordinary old man nearing the end of his days. If such an old man wasn't afraid, what reason did Wei Chen have to be scared?
"Senior, let's go then. I'm a bit nervous since it's my first time, and I hope I didn't embarrass you," Wei Chen said.
Senior Sea God chuckled, waved his hand, and together they plunged into the Spatial Tunnel.
A strong tearing force hit them instantly, and Wei Chen felt as if every cell in his body was being pulled apart; it was extremely uncomfortable.
In the Spatial Tunnel, even a First-Level Deity couldn't speak freely, let alone Wei Chen.
He could only grit his teeth and withstand the powerful force.
After they left, the Sea God Palace suddenly collapsed and quickly vanished without a trace.
The tearing force was intense, but fortunately, it didn't last long. About a minute later, Wei Chen saw light.
A brand new world appeared before him.
This world was boundless, filled with oceans everywhere and only a few islands scattered about. From high above, everything was blue and incredibly breathtaking.
"Child, this is my Ancestral Realm. There are no humans here, only the Sea Tribe. I just checked; within my Mercury, there are currently about three trillion Sea Tribe members. The Power of Belief they can provide is immense."
Senior Sea God smiled again, and the space shifted instantly as he brought Wei Chen to an underwater temple.
Their arrival went unnoticed by anyone. The power of a god could not be perceived by ordinary people.
Wei Chen looked up to see a towering statue within the temple, the statue of the Sea God. Countless people were prostrating themselves on the ground, worshiping the Sea God, and threads of Power of Belief gathered from the past flowed into the statue.
"Senior, didn't you ask me to create a Phantom? That would be more beneficial for absorbing Power of Belief," Wei Chen questioned.
The Sea God replied, "Different Spatial Planes require different methods. The Sea Tribe rarely ventures above the ocean surface. What effect would a Phantom in the sky have?"
Wei Chen thought about it and realized that Senior Sea God was using a method suited to the circumstances; different environments required different means to gather Power of Belief.
"In the Mercury Sea Region, how many such temples are there? With three hundred billion Sea Tribe members, one temple surely isn't enough," Wei Chen said, observing the Sea Tribe members prostrating on the ground, feeling a mix of emotions.
Since the moment he became a Demon Realm God, he had been silently questioning himself: what is the difference between gods and humans?
Perhaps, the distinction was merely one of power?
But these Sea Tribe members were created by Senior Sea God, so indeed, Senior Sea God was a true god.
The situation was complex, yet Wei Chen always felt that perhaps the difference between gods and humans wasn't as significant as it seemed.
At their core, gods also experienced Seven Emotions and Six Desires; gods could also die.
Senior Sea God responded, "There are thirty million such temples throughout the entire sea region. Essentially, one temple serves every thirty thousand people. To prevent them from having to travel too far, there must be many temples."
"Then do you have to absorb the Power of Belief from each statue individually? Wouldn't that be tedious?" Wei Chen was surprised; visiting thirty million temples one by one would take an eternity!
Senior Sea God calmly said, "No need. All the Power of Belief within each statue will converge into the Main Deity Statue. I only need to reside in the Main Temple to enjoy the Power of Belief."
With that, space shifted once more, and under Senior Sea God's guidance, they arrived at Mercury's Main Temple.
The Main Temple was impressively constructed, resembling a massive castle beneath the sea. The Sea Tribe members who came to worship were all formidable, and Wei Chen felt that even the weakest among the tens of thousands kneeling outside the hall was stronger than the Sea Emperor of the Endless Sea.
"This is my Main Temple. Those who come to pay their respects are the stronger members of the Sea Tribe. Ordinary individuals do not have the privilege to be here. It is said that in one's lifetime, no matter how far one has to travel, they must come to the Main Temple at least once to receive my protection," the Senior Sea God said with a smile.
"That's great. Such words serve as motivation for billions of Sea Tribe members; they will strive to cultivate diligently in hopes of coming here to pay their respects," Wei Chen replied.
"Exactly. It is because of this that my Power of Belief continues to flow endlessly. Just this Mercury Ancestral Realm alone has made countless Secondary Gods envious. They may envy me, but they have no way to take it from me."
"Senior, I feel that your complexion has improved significantly."
Wei Chen noticed that the Senior Sea God's complexion had become more vibrant, no longer resembling the pale state he had been in before. It seemed that his body had also undergone subtle changes, appearing less frail and emaciated.
The Senior Sea God nodded and said, "Now that I am in my Ancestral Realm, I can draw upon Power of Belief anytime and anywhere. In this Main Temple, the Power of Belief is abundant, having accumulated over millions of years. I even worry that there might be too much Power of Belief for me to absorb, leading to waste."
Wei Chen thought about it; with three hundred billion Sea Tribe members gathering their Power of Belief, it must be incredibly powerful!
"Child, take this opportunity to absorb some Power of Belief as well. Reaching the First-Level Divine Realm sooner will benefit you," the Senior Sea God invited Wei Chen to share in his "delicacy."
Wei Chen quickly waved his hands in refusal. "Senior, you need to focus on condensing your Heart of the God, which requires immense Divine Power. I cannot overstep my bounds."
"It’s fine. What I need to reassemble my Heart of the God is time, not just an abundance of Divine Power."
