The relationships between people are reciprocal.
If you want to earn respect from others, you must first show respect to them.
Building trust is also mutual. The Old Master was initially moved by Wei Chen's generosity, and Wei Chen felt a bit guilty about it. This created a wonderful feeling between them.
The Old Master saw through Wei Chen and realized he was a good person. The desire to take advantage of Wei Chen gradually faded, replaced by a genuine wish to be partners with him—a true collaboration.
Wei Chen also recognized the Old Master for who he was. This Fellow was straightforward; if he gained something, he would return the favor and help promote your achievements. He was a decent person.
With this understanding, the gaps between them suddenly disappeared.
From this moment on, if they were to cooperate, Wei Chen and the Old Master were truly bound together.
“Fellow, let's do it this way. The Eight Gates Mental Attack Technique, along with its high tier above the fifth level, is indeed exceptional within that divine stone. You can keep your Ninth Level for yourself; I will take these. Your name will be inscribed on the Merit Tablet of the Temple of Martial Arts.”
The Old Master instructed before taking the Memory Stone and carefully storing it away.
“Wei Chen, you should rest first. I will go find Ancestor Xu Elder right away to help evaluate your merits. You’ve worked hard this time; on behalf of the entire Temple of Martial Arts, I thank you,” the Old Master said solemnly.
“Evaluate merits? What does that mean?” Wei Chen asked.
The Old Master explained, “In the Temple of Martial Arts, there is a Merit Tablet. Having your name engraved on it is the lifelong pursuit of everyone in the Temple. Elders and Ancestors like me and Yue Songyang already have our names inscribed there, while Gongye Long, Left Envoy, Qian Youshi, and others do not qualify yet. Even Yue Songyang and I are only at second-level merit as Hall Master-level figures.”
“Merit is divided into three levels. Achieving first-level merit means you have made significant contributions to the Temple of Martial Arts. Second-level merit is generally awarded to Hall Masters and Vice Hall Masters, as well as some elders who have made contributions. As for Left Envoy and Qian Youshi, they may earn third-level merit once they achieve certain accomplishments. Given your contributions in Mental Strength cultivation methods and their high tier, I suspect your merit will be at least second-level!”
“Of course, these matters cannot be determined by me alone; I need to consult Ancestor Xu Elder to decide together.”
"Alright, I'm leaving now. Listen for the bell later; if there's any news, I'll gather everyone from the Temple of Martial Arts right away and carve your name."
The Old Master hurried off, but Wei Chen found himself with nowhere to go. The Old Master had kindly suggested he rest, but where could Wei Chen go to rest? In the vast Temple of Martial Arts, there was no place that belonged to him.
In the Temple of Martial Arts, Wei Chen had been sleepless and restless, lacking a true home. In fact, with his mindset and strength, he didn't need a place to stay. He could go without food, drink, or sleep for thousands of years without issue. With strong Mental Strength, sleep was unnecessary. Even when extremely tired, a brief meditation would suffice.
"Sigh, the Temple of Martial Arts and the Endless Divine Realm will never truly be my home. My home is in the Demon Realm; Sister Qingya, Sister Wei Rou, Yan Qiqi, and Mu Qingyan are all waiting for me. That Black Mage Scholar fellow has probably grown up by now; his innate Confucianism and Daoism might already be quite powerful."
"I don't know when the matters of the Endless Divine Realm will be resolved. The Ancient World Spatial Dimension System is temporarily safe; there's nothing to worry about for now."
"It's just that there's an additional Bloodshed Shop that has inherited the strongest Mental Attack Technique from Killing God Senior. I've already found myself at odds with Bloodshed Shop; this is unavoidable and has become my fate."
"To become stronger requires sacrifice; obtaining the Destruction of the World Thirteen Swords means opposing Bloodshed Shop."
"Killing God Senior wasn't wrong; I have a Strong Heart. My wife and child can't be with me forever."
"But as long as my True God World expands, I can have them all reside there. Isn't that a win-win situation?"
"I still don't know how to utilize the power of True God World yet, but judging by Killing God Senior's attitude, he seems very satisfied with my True God World."
"First, I need to expand True God World as much as possible. Only then can I reunite with my family and find peace of mind; then I won't care about battles and conflicts anymore."
Wei Chen thought to himself, lost in contemplation.
At this moment, he deeply felt how happy it was to be with family. Yes, during his final moments in the Demon Realm, having family by his side—along with a grandfather who would occasionally ramble on—was true happiness. Those days were what real happiness looked like.
However, Wei Chen was well aware that such days could not last forever.
Without foresight, one is bound to face imminent troubles. Lacking a sense of crisis, when danger arrives, one will be unable to resist it, leading to ruin.
Wei Chen came to the Endless Divine Realm not just to bring peace to the Ancient World, to quiet the Demon Domain, and to ensure his loved ones would be happy forever.
For this goal, he would spare no effort.
Yet upon arriving at the Endless Divine Realm, he gradually realized that his previous understanding had been somewhat shallow.
Those bloodlines he once took pride in had become less significant. The Ancient Bloodline, Demon Lotus Bloodline, and Spiritual Bloodline had long ceased to be effective; in fact, they were no longer useful at all. What could assist him at one stage would fade into obscurity at another stage, becoming a thing of the past.
Now, Stellar Power and Mental Strength were his true reliance. All bloodlines had lost their importance.
In the Endless Divine Realm, with friends and family absent, Wei Chen felt a sense of loneliness creeping in after just a short time.
That loneliness would not crush Wei Chen; instead, it fueled his indomitable spirit. Weak individuals might crumble under solitude and loneliness, but strong individuals find motivation in them.
Take Killing God Senior for instance—how many years had he spent in solitude within that divine stone? The countless words he scribbled on the walls did not signify despair; rather, they represented a positive outlook. Hard work pays off; Killing God Senior awaited Wei Chen, and Wei Chen seized his last chance to gain immense benefits.
Anyone resilient enough can rise to challenges and grow stronger in the face of adversity.
"Take care of yourselves. I will establish an absolutely safe realm for you. A brief separation will bring about lasting stability and harmony—what's not to like?"
With this thought in mind, a faint smile crept onto Wei Chen's lips.
As he pondered and conversed with others, he never ceased his cultivation. Once the habit of such practice was formed, it became impossible to change. Wei Chen was constantly absorbing Divine Power, a portion enriching his own body, while the vast majority was supplied to the True God World. His Mental Strength, a significant part of which was extended far away, controlled the Azure Star, urging those celestial bodies to operate according to the laws of the Stellar Technique. His Mental Strength was always on the rise, and the number of stars he could control was also increasing.
This skill of multitasking could only be sustained by formidable Mental Strength.
As his power grew stronger, Wei Chen gradually understood that for a cultivator, the strength of Mental Strength was fundamental. Everything else was superficial. With enhanced Mental Strength, willpower, perception, and the tasks that could be accomplished in a given time increased significantly, often achieving results that were twice as effective with half the effort.
The True God World served as the foundation, Mental Strength as support, Stellar Power as the most crucial means of attack, and the Destruction of the World Thirteen Swords as the ultimate killing move.
With these three elements in place, Wei Chen felt less pressure within the Endless Divine Realm.
He sat quietly in the great hall, contemplating problems. An hour later, Old Master and several Ancestor Xu Elders arrived. Yue Songyang and Qian Youshi, along with other high-ranking members, gathered in the hall.
Upon seeing Wei Chen meditating in silence, they all experienced a peculiar sensation deep within.
At that moment, they felt they were not looking at a young man but rather an elder seasoned by time—a being who had seen through everything.
Wei Chen was surrounded by a wondrous aura; it had no color yet radiated a dazzling brilliance. Within that formless glow emanated a faint hint of Vitality.
That was Wei Chen's True God World.
The crowd quietly observed Wei Chen, deeply sensing the Vitality surrounding him. Occasionally their eyes met or they exchanged whispers, yet they remained uncertain about the essence of Wei Chen's aura.
Within the Endless Divine Realm, there were many qualities of Divine Power—wind, rain, thunder, lightning, light and darkness—but they had never heard of a type of Divine Power associated with Life Force.
Eyes fixated on Wei Chen; streams of Mental Strength probed around him. They discovered that this extraordinary aura and Vitality possessed a gentle barrier effect that prevented their Mental Strength from delving deeper while not retaliating against them or damaging their Mental Strength.
It was a gentle persuasion, a kind of love for all living things emanating from Vitality.
Everyone's mood began to shift gradually.
They slowly realized that Wei Chen, sitting cross-legged in the center of the grand hall, had transcended their understanding in some profound way.
"What do you all think?" An Ancestor Xu Elder, possessing remarkable Mental Strength, established a connection channel, pulling everyone's consciousness into it, allowing for telepathic communication among many.
"It's unpredictable; this Fellow feels... like... a god..."
Even though everyone present was from the Divine Realm and held considerable rank, the divinity they sensed was that of a True God, not merely a god of the Divine Realm.
"This Fellow is indeed extraordinary. His ability to contribute such a precious Mental Attack Technique is enough to prove that his joining our Temple of Martial Arts likely comes with no ill intentions."
"Exactly. He may have his own goals, but they won't involve subverting the Temple of Martial Arts. Such generosity is extremely rare."
"We have misjudged him before."
Yue Songyang and Qian Youshi exchanged glances, feeling at a loss due to the Elder Ancestors' change in attitude. They had initially thought Wei Chen would cause trouble within the Temple of Martial Arts, leading to accountability for the Old Master. Now, it seemed that possibility had diminished significantly.
"In my view, the contribution of those Mental Attack Techniques should be enough for a first-class merit, right?"
"Absolutely. I previously doubted his intentions and hesitated to grant him first-class merit. But now, his Vitality proves he could never be an evil person. What harm is there in awarding him first-class merit?"
