"Is the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming really going all out to protect Wei Chen?"
Protect Wei Chen?
Everyone present, including the knowledgeable Elder Li, was utterly perplexed. No matter how one looked at it, if Wei Chen were to die, it would lead to a conflict between Duke Sui's Residence and the Temple of Martial Arts against Privy Hall. Even if there was no war, a significant rift would surely arise, leading to inevitable friction. In such a scenario, wouldn't the Southern Ming Divine Palace be the one to benefit without any effort?
Although everyone understood that perhaps the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming, with such a temperament, would disdain taking advantage of others, the problem was that even without such an attitude from the Southern Ming Divine Palace, the reality of benefiting from this situation would still exist!
What on earth was the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming thinking?
A group of elite soldiers and generals cast their puzzled gazes toward the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming.
The Supreme Deity of Southern Ming smiled slightly and said, "Are you all confused?"
"Supreme Deity, Wei Chen's life and death are tied to the mutual suppression and even conflict among Privy Hall, Temple of Martial Arts, and Duke Sui's Residence. No matter how we look at it, this is extremely beneficial for us in the Southern Ming Divine Palace. We cannot let such an opportunity slip by, can we?"
"Indeed, my lord. We in Sea Palace could weaken Privy Hall, Temple of Martial Arts, and Duke Sui's Residence without losing a single soldier. Why not take advantage of it?"
Several high-ranking officials within the Southern Ming Divine Palace voiced their opposition to the Supreme Deity's stance.
This was unprecedented; such a situation where opinions opposed to the Supreme Deity had never occurred before. It indicated just how outrageous the Supreme Deity's position seemed to those in Sea Palace. Even ordinary people would find this extremely unreasonable...
Had the Supreme Deity gone mad?
To disregard obvious benefits might prove his integrity, but he couldn't let his desire to demonstrate strength prevent advantageous outcomes from materializing!
"Is the Supreme Deity insane? How could this be?"
"There’s no way around it; once the Supreme Deity has made a decision, there’s no room for change."
"What if? The other lords do not agree with the Supreme Deity's opinion!"
"What does their disagreement matter? The Supreme Deity's temperament cannot be changed."
"Just wait and see. I believe there is still room for change."
"Impossible. We'll see."
Everyone secretly criticized the words of the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming, but on his side, the Supreme Deity remained calm and composed. Although he could see that his subordinates were displeased, he had no intention of changing his mind about protecting Wei Chen.
Just like those people in their hearts, it was impossible to change. Once something was said, it was like water spilled on the ground; he would not alter his nature in the slightest.
"Gentlemen, my mind is made up. There is nothing more to discuss. Our primary mission in going to the Eastern Forest is to protect Wei Chen. If anything happens to Wei Chen in the Eastern Forest, you need not return," the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming stated lightly.
From what he said, it seemed he intended to go himself?
Moreover, his determination to protect Wei Chen was strong; if anything happened to Wei Chen, Elder Li and the others would not be able to return.
Such words rang alarm bells in the minds of Elder Li and the other high-ranking officials. This was no joke; they had to ensure Wei Chen's safety.
However, what puzzled Elder Li and the others was that the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming actually planned to go personally?
Calculating the time, how long had it been since he last left the Southern Ming Divine Palace?
"Supreme Deity, are you also going to the Eastern Forest?" Elder Li asked after a moment of silence, frowning.
"Why can't I go?" The Supreme Deity of Southern Ming smiled gently.
"Elder Li replied, 'Supreme Deity, your status is esteemed; it may not be appropriate for you to go to the Eastern Forest.'"
"I haven't been out in a long time. It's a good opportunity to meet some old friends," the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming said calmly.
Upon hearing this, Elder Li stopped speaking, but secretly felt pleased. After all, the might of the Southern Ming Divine Palace needed the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming to maintain it. With the Supreme Deity not showing themselves, the entire Southern Ming Divine Domain had been speculating whether something had happened to them. If the Supreme Deity could go to the Eastern Forest, not only would the goal of protecting Wei Chen be assured, but all the treasures of the Southern Ming Divine Palace would also belong solely to them, leaving no opportunity for the other three Major Forces: the Temple of Martial Arts, Privy Hall, and Duke Sui's Residence.
Such a good thing had no opposition.
In fact, the shrewd Elder Li had also guessed the Supreme Deity's intentions. He had already proposed a target that everyone found unacceptable; he couldn't just let it go. It was necessary for him to go as well. His presence would stabilize the morale of the troops in Sea Palace, allowing them to work with peace of mind and also serve as a demonstration of divine power.
Of course, the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming had other calculations in mind. Protecting Wei Chen's safety was not that simple. The people in Sea Palace couldn't understand why it was necessary, but the Supreme Deity was very clear about it.
As for what exactly he knew, that could only be determined once he met Wei Chen.
Without further ado, the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming led the high-ranking officials of Sea Palace and rode on a Snow Eagle, flying directly to the Eastern Forest. Sea Palace was absolutely safe; no spies or forces could reach inside. Therefore, no one knew about the Supreme Deity personally going to the Eastern Forest, nor did anyone know their objective.
Meanwhile, Privy Hall was secretly preparing to find ways to kill Wei Chen when the time came; however, their goal would likely be difficult to achieve.
...
Outside of the four major powers, there was another Major Force that was slightly weaker than them—Last Chance. It nominally fell under the jurisdiction of the Temple of Martial Arts, but their control over that force had weakened significantly.
That Major Force was Thunder Sword Sect.
When events unfolded at Southern Ming Divine Palace, a large contingent from Thunder Sword Sect set out almost simultaneously with most of their strong members.
Their thinking was simple: they were weak and unable to confront the four Major Forces head-on, so they could only take advantage of the chaos and grab whatever they could.
Beyond Thunder Sword Sect, there were various other forces heading toward Eastern Forest as well, all hoping to benefit from the turmoil.
Almost every force in Southern Ming Divine Domain had sent people to Eastern Forest; it was clear that things were about to get lively there.
……
“Supreme Deity, we have entered the Southern Ming Divine Domain.”
A silver Warship flew in from the direction of the Ying Qin Divine Realm, entering the territory of the Southern Ming Divine Domain.
On the deck of the Warship, everyone was dressed in silver attire, creating a uniform appearance.
Inside the Warship, everything was also silver. In the most lavishly decorated room, a middle-aged man clad in Silver Armor sat upright. Before him knelt a general in silver armor, whose shoulders bore nine shining silver stars, signifying his rank. The middle-aged man sitting upright had a silver Divine Dragon embroidered on his shoulder, marking him as the Supreme God of Winning the Qin Divine Realm. The general kneeling before him held a significant position in Winning the Qin Divine Realm as a Nine-Star General, second only to the Ying Qin Supreme Deity. The Divine Dragon on the Ying Qin Supreme Deity's shoulder represented ten stars.
There was only one Nine-Star General in Winning the Qin Divine Realm.
The situation in Winning the Qin Divine Realm was different from that in Southern Ming Divine Domain. The Southern Ming Divine Domain was somewhat chaotic, with three Major Forces vying for power outside the Sea Palace, their open and covert struggles never ceasing. In contrast, Winning the Qin Divine Realm was extremely stable; all powerful beings were aligned under the Ying Qin Supreme Deity and dared not defy him. The distinctive attire of Winning the Qin Divine Realm was also silver; everyone preferred to wear silver clothing, a trend set by the Ying Qin Supreme Deity that had gradually become a habit among its people.
Only those who were significant figures under the Ying Qin Supreme Deity could qualify to have stars embroidered on their shoulders; even a single star represented an extraordinary status.
Upon hearing the report from the Nine-Star General, the Ying Qin Supreme Deity nodded expressionlessly and said, “Continue forward. Do not concern yourselves with the aerial defenses of Southern Ming Divine Domain; upon seeing our flag, they will automatically allow us passage.”
“Supreme Deity, have you informed the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming?” asked the Nine-Star General.
The Ying Qin Supreme Deity replied calmly, “I have informed him. The Supreme Deity of Southern Ming knows we are coming; his aerial forces will not obstruct us.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a squadron of Snow Eagle Knights blocked the path of the Warship ahead.
“People from Winning the Qin Divine Realm? What business do you have in my Southern Ming Divine Domain? Do you have any travel documents?” shouted a Commander of the Knights.
After all, it was their own territory; even though their opponents seemed formidable, the commander did not lose his courage.
“Brother, we have received permission from the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming. If you don’t believe me, you can ask him,” said the Nine-Star General as he stepped onto the deck and cupped his fist in greeting to the commander, maintaining a degree of politeness. Given his status and strength, he had no need to show courtesy to someone like that Third-Level Deity general; however, since they were on someone else's turf, it was best to avoid trouble if possible. Moreover, deep down, the Nine-Star General felt puzzled—had Ying Qin Supreme Deity really notified the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming?
It was hard to tell if it was just a casual remark, but it could lead to trouble. The Nine-Star General had been by Ying Qin Supreme Deity's side for a long time and understood his temperament well. Unlike the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming, who was deeply calculating, Ying Qin Supreme Deity often acted unpredictably. He had already promised the Nine-Star General that he would bring people to seize something, but upon reflection, was that really possible?
The Nine-Star General felt helpless; it seemed all of this was just a ruse.
The commander of the aerial forces at the border of Southern Ming Divine Domain frowned and shook his head. "We haven't received any news. If you wish to enter Southern Ming Divine Domain, you must follow the rules and enter through the nearby city. State your intentions clearly, and we will provide you with a pass."
"Brother, you should really check again; otherwise, things might get a bit troublesome." A hint of threat appeared in the Nine-Star General's eyes. If soft tactics wouldn't work, then he had to resort to harder ones.
"No, we haven't received any news. You should just go back."
"Are you looking for death?"
A chilling voice emerged from within the Warship, and in an instant, the entire void seemed to twist and warp as a Spatial Tunnel appeared before the Warship. The aerial forces of Southern Ming Divine Domain were suddenly immobilized, pushed aside as if they had been struck mute.
"Let's go; we can pass through directly and avoid these pesky flies," Ying Qin Supreme Deity's voice rang out. The Nine-Star General couldn't help but smile bitterly as he ordered the Warship to activate and slip into the Spatial Tunnel.
"It's quite helpless; the Supreme Deity could have sent the Warship into the heart of Southern Ming Divine Domain without anyone noticing. Those areas have no aerial forces at all. Why is he doing this deliberately, exposing our movements? What is his intention?"
As it turned out, Ying Qin Supreme Deity had not consulted with the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming at all. His actions were intentional; he wanted to expose himself and convey a message to the Supreme Deity of Southern Ming:
"Southern Ming, I have arrived!"
