Wei Chen didn't dare to breathe.
He didn't even have the courage to use his Mental Strength to probe that enormous Heart, a giant Heart larger than his own body.
In the place where this passage converged, the flames had vanished. The flames were composed of Fire Divine Power, which had condensed into liquid form and was supplied to that Heart.
Wei Chen swallowed hard. Could it be that this thing was the Heart of the Fire God?
This was getting serious.
"Paralyzed, the Fire God wasn't seen, but a Heart was!"
"The Heart of the Fire God, damn it!"
"Vitality is emanating from that Heart. Those Fire Divine Powers have condensed into liquid form, supplying that Heart. It’s almost certain that thing is the Heart of the Fire God."
"Just looking at its exterior, it resembles a human Heart!"
"However, this Heart is truly massive!"
Wei Chen was completely stunned. A Heart of this caliber was indeed powerful to an unimaginable extent.
In his mind, he could easily conjure an image of the Fire God possessing this great Heart, his physique towering to an extraordinary degree…
That was a true giant!
Wei Chen stood there in shock, motionless. After seeing the Heart of the Fire God, he instantly closed the passage connecting True God World to this realm, and the Fire Divine Power no longer flowed into his True God World.
Upon reaching the core territory of the Fire God, what would happen if he angered the deity?
No matter how one looked at it, Wei Chen's previous actions were nothing short of shameless theft. He had stolen a massive amount of Fire Divine Power and infused it into his own domain.
If the Fire God found out, it could lead to some serious trouble.
Wei Chen wisely closed the passage, restrained his aura, and stood several dozen meters away from the Heart of the Fire God, gazing intently at the enormous Heart.
Just the Heart itself was taller than Wei Chen, with an estimated diameter twice his height.
Calculating it out, if the Fire God had a physical form, he would stand at least a hundred feet tall.
A true giant!
"Killing God Senior, do you see this?" Wei Chen quietly asked Killing God Senior.
Killing God Senior was also swallowing hard; he was equally intimidated. This level of Heart was something he had never seen or heard of before.
For the first time in his life, just facing an organ made Killing God Senior feel incredibly small.
"Kid, I think we should retreat. This thing could very well be the Heart of the Fire God, and every passage seems like a blood vessel supplying this Heart with energy," Killing God Senior said.
After hearing Killing God Senior's words, Wei Chen realized that those thirty-six passages were indeed like blood vessels for the Heart of the Fire God.
Wei Chen broke out in a cold sweat; even in this hot environment, he felt chills running down his spine.
His previous act of theft was akin to severing a blood vessel connected to the Heart of the Fire God, stealing its nutrients—namely, Fire Divine Power—and claiming them as his own...
Such behavior was undoubtedly harmful to the Heart of the Fire God. If the Fire God possessed consciousness, Wei Chen truly wondered how many times he would have to die.
Thinking of this, Wei Chen felt a chill run through him. He silently vowed that no matter what temptations he faced in the future, he could never casually steal anything again.
"Killing God Senior, you sent me to steal from the Fire God, and now look at this—there's not a single hair left, where are the weapons? This Fire God is so poor that all that's left is a Heart. What can I possibly steal?"
"Child, are you still not satisfied? You've nearly stolen all the Fire Divine Power from one of the veins of the Heart of the Fire God."
Hearing Killing God Senior's words, Wei Chen was speechless.
But he had no intention of leaving. Often, when he said he was going to withdraw, it was merely a casual remark; deep down, he had no real desire to go.
He hadn't yet obtained the true benefits, so how could he possibly leave?
In Wei Chen's view, the Fire Divine Power he had acquired and the increase in his Mental Strength and Divine Power realm were hardly considered real benefits.
But what those true benefits were, Wei Chen himself did not know.
Gathering his courage, Wei Chen quietly approached the Heart of the Fire God.
The closer he got, the more he felt that the Vitality of the Heart of the Fire God was incredibly rich.
Most importantly, Wei Chen sensed an attraction, a sense of affinity.
At the Heart of the Fire God, he felt no pressure or killing intent—only a complete sense of affinity.
This inexplicable affinity and attraction left Wei Chen utterly bewildered; he couldn't make heads or tails of what was happening.
He walked up to the Heart of the Fire God, examining it closely. The Heart of the Fire God was a solid entity, completely formed from Fire Divine Power. Wei Chen couldn't even fathom the concentration of that Fire Divine Power; it had solidified, which spoke volumes about its density.
The entire Fire Divine Power within the Source of Fire Flower was no match for the amount contained in this Heart of the Fire God.
The Fire Divine Power throughout the Endless Divine Realm was less than one billionth of that found within this Heart of the Fire God.
Wei Chen had never seen solidified Fire Divine Power before. Thirty-six channels extended out, each connected to liquid conduits that delivered Fire Divine Power into the Heart of the Fire God. This surpassed anything Wei Chen could have imagined or comprehended.
When he was in the Fire Clan Secret Realm and engaged with the Source of Fire Flower, he could never have imagined that inside it lay such a peculiar entity.
He had envisioned a mighty fire god residing within the Source of Fire Flower, perhaps sleeping or cultivating, but it could not possibly be just a Heart.
"Killing God Senior, it seems that the entire Source of Fire Flower is supplying this Heart with Fire Divine Power, allowing it to thrive!" Wei Chen communicated telepathically.
Killing God Senior countered, "Just like our own Hearts, there is a balance of inflow and outflow. The thirty-six channels deliver Fire Divine Power to this Heart while maintaining basic equilibrium. The Source of Fire Flower provides this Heart with Fire Divine Power, and in turn, this Heart sends out Fire Divine Power through the Fire Source to the outside world. It’s a fascinating balance. We humans inherit characteristics from the Ancient God's Heart; it should be universal."
After hearing Killing God Senior's words, Wei Chen found them quite reasonable. At critical moments, Killing God Senior was indeed reliable; his vast knowledge was like a rare encyclopedia to Wei Chen.
Wei Chen calmly said, "Killing God Senior, I feel that this Heart poses no threat to me. In fact, I sense a certain connection between me and this Heart."
"You don't need to tell me; I've already noticed," Killing God Senior replied.
Wei Chen was taken aback and asked, "Noticed? How did you figure that out?"
Killing God Senior explained, "It's simple. The Demon Lotus Image above your head has become increasingly vivid as you approached the Heart of the Fire God."
Wei Chen released a bit of Mental Strength to probe the Demon Lotus Image above him. Sure enough, just as Killing God Senior had said, the Demon Lotus Image became more real and continued to spin as if greeting an old friend.
However, the Demon Lotus did not actively fly out to land on the Heart of the Fire God. It seemed that it wanted to greet him while also maintaining its own dignity.
Perhaps the level of the Demon Lotus was indeed higher than that of the Fire God. Yet, they certainly did not have a true superior-subordinate relationship; it was more of a sense of regret from the Fire God towards the Demon Lotus that caused the flames conjured by the Fire Divine Power to retreat upon seeing the Demon Lotus and sensing its aura.
It was not fear, but rather a feeling of mutual respect between friends.
But as Wei Chen thought about it carefully, it didn’t quite seem that way. If it were truly mutual respect among friends, there would be no need to retreat; they could simply approach each other!
However, approaching might harm the Demon Lotus, burning it…
He couldn’t make sense of it.
Wei Chen said, “Killing God Senior, think about it. The Heart of the Fire God seems to have a certain fondness for my Demon Lotus. Did they perhaps know each other before?”
“That is inevitable. I suspect your Demon Lotus was born in the early chaos of the universe, even predating the emergence of the five Ancient Gods. Therefore, the Fire God feels a sense of closeness and some awe towards your Demon Lotus,” Killing God Senior analyzed.
Wei Chen found some truth in Killing God Senior's analysis, but the problem was that having reasoning didn’t help; these were merely speculations with no way to be verified.
If the Heart of the Fire God did not step forward to speak, the mystery could not be unraveled.
At this point, Wei Chen had no idea what to do next.
Staying here seemed pointless!
“Killing God Senior, I don’t know what to do now. Based on your experience, what should I do?” Wei Chen asked Killing God Senior.
Killing God Senior replied helplessly, “For matters like this, you might as well not ask me; I genuinely don’t know.”
“The Demon Lotus is yours. If it has any thoughts, as its master or host, you should have some sense of it. As for me, I am powerless here. Anyway, the Heart of the Fire God is right in front of you, and it won’t harm you. That’s the most basic thing; our safety is not a concern.”
After hearing the words of Killing God Senior, Wei Chen nodded and said, “Safe, but there are no benefits.”
“Benefits? Heh heh, my dear child, do you really have no thoughts at all with the Heart of the Fire God right in front of you?” Killing God Senior's voice grew somewhat deep, laced with a strong hint of temptation.
Wei Chen was puzzled. “What thoughts could I have? This is the Heart of the Fire God! What can I do?”
“Think for yourself. I’ve said all I can. The rest is up to you; don’t ask me anything more.” With that, Killing God Senior vanished, no longer answering any of Wei Chen’s questions.
Wei Chen was speechless. What kind of attitude was this from Killing God Senior? You brought me here and nearly got me killed, and at the crucial moment, you just hide away. What does that even mean?
Unable to gain any advice from Killing God Senior's encyclopedia-like knowledge, Wei Chen had to rely entirely on himself.
In fact, he was half-convinced by Killing God Senior's words; he would ponder deeply over any suggestions before agreeing or refusing.
“The Heart of the Fire God… a Heart without a body. I wonder what that so-called Fire God went through before to become so weak that only a Heart remains.”
“What can I do?”
Wei Chen thought for a moment, and suddenly an impulse arose within him. One of his hands gently brushed against the Heart of the Fire God…
