Wei Chen did not know where the thought came from; perhaps it was a deep-seated idea within him, or maybe his Demon Lotus Bloodline was urging him to act this way.
In any case, Wei Chen suddenly found himself pressing one hand gently against the Heart of the Fire God.
If the Heart of the Fire God showed even the slightest resistance, he would instantly meet his demise.
The Heart of the Fire God was composed of an extremely pure concentration of Fire Divine Power, far exceeding that of the Source of Fire Flower.
Such a formidable Divine Vessel could erupt with fury at any moment; it was no exaggeration.
Yet, for reasons unknown, Wei Chen summoned the courage and determination to proceed.
As soon as he made contact with the Heart of the Fire God, he felt an overwhelming sense of familiarity wash over him.
It was as if he were sharing a warm handshake with someone he had known for a long time...
Wei Chen lightly caressed the Heart of the Fire God, and that peculiar sensation made the Demon Lotus Image above his head become even more solidified.
The Demon Lotus spun joyfully, lifting away from Wei Chen's head and circling around the Heart of the Fire God, rotating slightly in circles again and again.
With a puzzled expression, Wei Chen withdrew his hand and looked at the delighted Demon Lotus. He thought to himself, "This feels just like seeing an old flame; could it be that this Demon Lotus is female? And the Fire God is male?"
"Does that mean I’m going to become effeminate too?"
Wei Chen took a few steps back, observing the Demon Lotus and the Heart of the Fire God, unable to comprehend what was happening.
Moments later, Wei Chen suddenly saw the Heart of the Fire God throb heavily!
Indeed, it was a throb—the Heart's throb!
In an instant, a terrifying amount of Fire Divine Power erupted from that Heart, flooding into the thirty-six blood vessels.
As the liquid Divine Power entered the channels, it instantly transformed into a dense gaseous form, surging outward toward the periphery of the channels.
The thirty-six channels were instantly filled to the brim with Fire Divine Power.
Wei Chen then realized that the previous state of the Heart of the Fire God was merely its expanded state; now that it had contracted, the Fire Divine Power was forced out, flowing into the thirty-six channels, which meant it was flowing into the Fire Source.
Standing next to the Heart of the Fire God, Wei Chen felt little but secretly marveled at its wonders.
However, outside in the Fire Clan Secret Realm, atop the volcano, the situation was entirely different.
The Heart of the Fire God throbbed once, triggering a tidal wave of Fire Divine Power that surged like tumultuous sea water, causing the Source of Fire Flower to expand slightly. To Fire Clan Leader Fire Shadow and the Fire Clan Elders, as well as Donghua and Shaohou, it appeared that the powerful force beneath the Source of Fire Flower had erupted once more!
That Source of Fire Flower swelled violently from the impact of the Heart's throb, looking as if it might explode at any moment.
Previously, such an event would have caused the Source of Fire Flower to spin anxiously, threatening to collapse. However, this time, that scenario did not occur. The significantly swollen Source of Fire Flower was restrained by the formation left behind by Wei Chen; it struggled slightly but could not break free from the Mount Meru Confinement Formation. It seemed somewhat angry but was at a loss for what to do. After struggling for a moment, it finally ceased its efforts.
Seeing this scene, Donghua and Shaohou both let out long sighs of relief. The formation left by Wei Chen indeed managed to withstand that fierce energy's impact!
Fire Clan Leader Fire Shadow and the Fire Clan Elders were overjoyed to see that the formation had resisted such a powerful energy surge. But their expressions quickly turned grim; their faces changed faster than anything else.
Under normal circumstances, in the past, such energy shocks would only occur once every decade. This was also the reason why Wei Chen's formation could withstand ten shocks, which roughly equated to a hundred years.
However, it had only been two years since Wei Chen had set up the formation and thrown it into the fire, and now the Shockwave had come again?
Had the time shortened so much?
Did this mean that the formation left by Wei Chen could only last for twenty years? Or, with the increasing frequency of the Shockwave, would it only provide stability for a few years, or even just a handful of years?
"Chief, what should we do?" The Fire Clan Elders were anxious; the hope left by Wei Chen now seemed like it wouldn't last much longer.
Fire Clan Leader Fire Shadow said, "I have no solution; we can only wait for Wei Chen to come out. We don't know how he is doing inside the Fire Source!"
"Perhaps this Shockwave is related to Wei Chen?"
"It's unlikely. If Wei Chen can survive in the Fire Source for such a long time, it would be nothing short of a miracle!"
"Regardless, we must continue to wait. If it comes to worst, we can only resort to our previous methods."
The previous method involved all the elders working together to slow down the collapse of the Source of Fire Flower as much as possible. That approach was akin to a drop in the bucket; none of them wished for that outcome.
But if Wei Chen did not come out, what could they do?
There was no other way. If Wei Chen did not emerge, they could only return to their original positions—those who were doomed would die generously for the sake of the Fire Tribe.
Fortunately, Donghua and Shaohou had confidently assured them that Wei Chen was still alive; otherwise, Fire Clan Leader Fire Shadow and the Fire Clan Elders would surely be driven to despair.
Feeling the powerful energy of the Shockwave, Donghua and Shaohou exchanged a glance, a sense of worry rising within them.
If the Source of Fire Flower remained stable and the Shockwave had not appeared, Donghua and Shaohou could have waited calmly for Wei Chen's return. However, this Shockwave had come far too early, leaving them unable to shake their concern.
"The Donghua Sword Immortal asked, 'Shaohuang God King, how is Wei Chen's Soul Power?'"
The Shaohuang God King shrugged helplessly and replied, "It's getting stronger."
"Then why isn't he out yet?" questioned the Great Merchant God King.
"I don't know! Stop asking these pointless questions. I was worried before that if that powerful force appeared, Wei Chen might encounter trouble inside the Fire Source. However, now that the Shockwave has come and Wei Chen's Soul Power hasn't been harmed at all, that's a signal—Wei Chen must be fine. He withstood even the strongest Shockwave; we can rest easy now. There shouldn't be anything left in the Fire Source that could threaten Wei Chen."
After hearing the Shaohuang God King's words, everyone felt it made sense, but as long as Wei Chen remained inside, their hearts were still in turmoil.
Although on the surface Donghua and Shaohou appeared calm, it was merely a facade they presented to the Fire Clan Leader, Fire Shadow, and the Fire Clan Elders.
Donghua and Shaohou both understood that without their anchor, Wei Chen, everyone was in a state of panic; they couldn't truly remain calm. It was just an act.
Having experienced one Shockwave, the Source of Fire Flower showed no signs of collapsing; Wei Chen's formation still held strong.
Inside the Source of Fire Flower, at the intersection of passages, Wei Chen also sensed a disturbance in his formation.
"It seems that the Source of Fire Flower is struggling under the influence of the Shockwave?"
"Doesn't that mean that the energy Shockwave is actually the heartbeat of the Heart of the Fire God?"
Wei Chen squinted, feeling more convinced with each passing thought.
The heartbeat of the Heart of the Fire God surged with massive amounts of Fire Divine Power, causing the Source of Fire Flower to spin anxiously, releasing those Fire Element Energies.
If that's the case, when the Heart of the Fire God expands, it must absorb a great deal of Fire Divine Power into its interior. How would that work?
In that state, where does the Fire Divine Power come from?
"Fire Divine Power is expelled from the Heart through its contraction, flowing into thirty-six blood vessels and spreading throughout the Fire Clan Secret Realm. To Fire Clan Leader Fire Shadow and others like Fire Elder, it appears as a collapse of the Fire Source."
"When the Heart of the Fire God expands, it needs to absorb a large amount of Divine Power to maintain balance..."
As Wei Chen thought about this, he suddenly became excited. Could it be that there was no actual collapse of the Fire Source, but rather a disturbance that instilled fear in the people of the Fire Tribe, leading them to concoct an explanation?
The balanced flow in and out of the Heart of the Fire God, releasing and absorbing Fire Divine Power, indicated that there was no collapse at all!
With this realization, the anxiety that had been hanging over Wei Chen finally settled in his stomach.
Since the Shockwave had no adverse effects and was merely a simple contraction or expansion of the Heart of the Fire God, then the spinning of the Source of Fire Flower was simply part of the process of releasing or absorbing Fire Divine Power.
That process should not be interrupted; there was fundamentally nothing wrong with it!
With this understanding, Wei Chen felt that his responsibility for coming to the Fire Clan Secret Realm had been fulfilled.
Wei Chen was quite pleased; he had completed that important task, and now it was time to consider only himself.
"Demon Lotus really likes this Heart, but not because it wants to devour it. Instead, it is happy to see an old friend. The Heart of the Fire God also thumped lightly, indicating its welcome to Demon Lotus. In this way, they truly recognize each other."
"It's a pity. If only they both had consciousness, I would know what they wanted to do. But in this situation, I have no idea what to do!"
Wei Chen fell into confusion. There was no doubt that Demon Lotus and the Heart of the Fire God were acquainted, but as the one involved, what could he do?
Even if Wei Chen were to leave now, he would still feel that his journey had not been in vain; he had already gained quite a lot.
However, Wei Chen did not want to leave just yet. Perhaps it was his own reluctance, or maybe the Demon Lotus Bloodline was constraining his thoughts?

"The Fire God is your friend, right? He is now pitifully left with only a Heart. How do you plan to help him? Or how should we help him now?" Wei Chen murmured to himself.
