“Heartless Scoundrel! Come here and face me!”
With a sharp shout, over ten young maidens appeared from the rooftops on either side of the street, each wielding a sharp sword as they charged toward the son of the Lord of Melora City.
“I never expected such a twist! Today has truly been worth it!”
Fang Lin Kong had long lost interest in what was supposed to be an ordinary wedding. However, having sensed the strange atmosphere around him and the presence of hidden strong opponents, he decided to stay and watch the unfolding drama instead of leaving.
As he observed the group of young maidens, their graceful figures and well-proportioned bodies suggested they were members of the Fengfeng Tribe, a rare sight in the inland regions of Gou Li World. In contrast to the agile and powerful warriors of the Kua Fu Clan, they each showcased their unique strengths.
The Feng Clan, residing in the Eastern Sea of Gou Li North Continent, primarily fed on fish. Through cultivation, they could form wings made of true energy on their backs. The color of the wings among the Fengfeng Tribe indicated their innate rank: pale yellow was the lowest, followed by light blue, azure, crimson, pale gold, and purple. Higher than solid colors were the five-colored wings for nobility, seven-colored for royalty, and nine-colored for imperial lineage. The clan's secret technique, Heavenly Bird Nine Transformations, was on par with the Chasing Sun Technique from the Kua Fu Clan. Both techniques were widely sold in markets, but those who successfully cultivated them were as rare as virgins.
In Gou Li North Continent's Lihan Empire, there were nine major races naturally suited to become warriors. They formed what was known as Jiu Li. In the language of Gouli Continent, Jiu Li means warrior tribe. Both Fufeng and Kua Fu were part of Jiu Li.
The higher the wing rank of a Feng Clan member, the greater their advantage in cultivating Heavenly Bird Nine Transformations. For instance, a Fufeng with light blue wings might take ten years to master the third transformation of Heavenly Bird, while someone from royalty could achieve it in just a month. Nevertheless, regardless of wing color at the same level of Celestial Transformation, their power remained equal; it all depended on intelligence and combat experience.
The youthful-looking Young Lord of Meiluo City now wore an awkward expression. Although his ancient long knife buzzed eagerly to be drawn for battle, he struggled to suppress it and shouted desperately, “You’ve misunderstood! I’m not that kind of person! Please step back for now; everyone stop…”
The group of maidens from the Fengfeng Tribe ignored his explanation and pressed forward to seize the platform carried by the Kua Fu warriors. Meanwhile, the guards—Warriors—of Meiluo City had no intention of standing down while swords were thrust at them.
Thus began a fierce clash as both sides showcased their extraordinary abilities.
Fang Lin Kong had somehow procured several benches and was watching with rapt attention. One hand held a camera capturing the scene while the other gripped a microphone for commentary.
“Look! This is Gouli Continent’s northernmost Lihan Empire, specifically Meiluo City in Silvermoon Duchy. Today marks the day when the son of Lord of Melora City loses his mind—oh wait! I mean his wedding day.”
“Over here is the group attempting to ‘snatch’ a groom; however, it’s not about stealing brides. The customs in Gouli Continent are quite peculiar—recently it has become fashionable to ‘snatch’ handsome men instead. Look at how diligent those Warrior guards are as they battle these beautiful maidens! Who threw that ketchup? We don’t need makeup here!”
Seeing that damned Shetan gloating, a brave aunt hurled a bottle of moldy ketchup at Fang Lin Kong's head.
"Damn Shetan, did you steal the bananas from my house to sell at the pawn shop?"
Fang Lin Kong, being a martial arts expert, seized the opportunity while the aunt was filled with righteous indignation. He executed a spinning kick, sending her tumbling into the nearby drainage well. Then he muttered, "Who lacks civic sense and steals the well cover to sell for scrap?" He casually ripped off a piece of door panel from a nearby shop to cover the well and piled a few stones on top.
From within the well came loud thuds; it was unclear whether the aunt was cooking or doing laundry.
Returning to the battlefield, Fang Lin Kong found that the fight had reached another climax. The warriors of Gouli Continent were indeed formidable. A young Kua Fu dressed in high-quality Warrior attire moved with such speed that he nearly approached the speed of sound. His battle blade was incredibly powerful, having already knocked down two young girls from the Fengfeng Tribe. However, those he defeated were quickly rescued by other Fengfeng Tribe girls, leaving no captives.
At this moment, four Fengfeng Tribe girls had gathered their powerful true energy and formed elegant wings behind them. Utilizing their aerial advantage, they outmaneuvered the young Kua Fu Warrior, gaining a significant upper hand with four against one.
Meanwhile, several other Fengfeng Tribe girls charged up to the platform without hesitation, thrusting their sharp swords and forcing the young lord from Meiluo City to dodge continuously.
Fang Lin Kong watched in a daze, unsure where to jump in. He grabbed his camera and began filming vigorously. This footage could serve as a trailer for some blockbuster release on video sites, fooling quite a few people.
With this sordid thought in mind, Fang Lin Kong focused on capturing the graceful flight of the Fengfeng Tribe girls, his lens lingering on their thighs, delicate chests, and wardrobe malfunctions.
"Which bastard covered up the drainage well? Don’t you know our customs here in Gouli Continent? Wells are left uncovered!"
A furious roar echoed through the air, followed by an even louder shout: "Big brother! Who are you fighting? I'm coming to help you!"
The young Kua Fu Warrior who was single-handedly battling four Fengfeng girls turned his head amidst the chaos and shouted back, "Brother, don’t come over! These people are dangerous. Your Chasing Sun Technique hasn’t reached the third level yet; you’re no match for them..."
The young Kua Fu who had been about to remove the well cover clearly had a rash temperament. He wouldn’t listen to such discouraging words. Ignoring his brother's warning, he threw aside the stone he had lifted and dashed out.
Fang Lin Kong felt an unexpected tightness in his chest and indeed heard a muffled grunt from within the well. Regret washed over him: "I might have joked too far this time. If anything happens to that aunt, how could I live with myself..."
Just as he pondered this, an angry voice erupted from below: "Which little brat is throwing stones and hitting me? If I don’t show you youngsters what Dominant Lady’s might was like back in my day..."
A deafening roar echoed through the air. "Today, I will defy the heavens! Watch out..." Suddenly, water from the well surged upward, sending filth shooting into the sky.
Immediately, a massive green column of energy shot up from the well, and Fang Lin Kong's detector went wild, flashing erratically with a reading of twenty-five thousand seven. Then he saw the woman he had kicked into the well rising steadily from the depths, her aura filled with murderous intent, her body covered in rotten vegetable leaves. She was actually able to fly using her energy!
"To be able to harness the vitality of heaven and earth and ascend like this—could it be the legendary Celestial Rank has returned?"
Fang Lin Kong, fearing trouble, quickly summoned the Solar Pearl that he hadn't used in a long time into his palm.
"Yin and Yang unite, six pearls in rotation, blast that woman away!"
With the Solar Pearl unleashed, six large orbs of red light shot toward the Celestial Rank woman. The Solar Pearl was incredibly powerful; she managed to punch away the first two orbs but was struck solidly by the last two, shattering her protective energy. The final two orbs followed closely behind, sending her hefty body soaring into the air before crashing down somewhere unknown.
What was supposed to be a brief skirmish became the highlight of this wedding competition. Unfortunately, at that moment, over forty bandits known as the Donkey Ear Mountain emerged from their hiding spots. They had somehow learned of the situation and had long coveted the generous betrothal gifts from both families involved in this union.
The wedding procession, which had maintained its formation with over a thousand people, could no longer hold back and joined the fray. The unruly spectators began throwing rotten tomatoes in support; however, given Lord of Melora City's poor governance, most of these projectiles were aimed at the guards and wedding party rather than at the two groups fighting for control.
In an instant, shoes and heads flew through the air, while tomatoes and blood mixed together on the ground.
Moreover, dozens of mysterious men dressed as commoners quietly drew their weapons and charged toward the bride at the center of the procession.
