Three Major Forces are engaged in a fierce battle, and amidst this chaos, several Hero Protagonists rise to power, nurturing terrifying divine beasts such as the fearsome Azure Flame Phoenix, Deathwing, and the Mountain Giant, each possessing the devastating strength to destroy cities and nations.
One of the protagonists seems to have emerged in Farn County!
Xiar carefully reviewed the relevant storyline of that Hero Protagonist.
It follows the classic protagonist template: his mother passed away, leaving him alone with his hunter father. However, fate took a cruel turn when his father was coerced by a wealthy scion to hunt a fearsome monster.
Inevitably, he met a tragic end at the claws of their prey, and that scion merely sent a few gold coins as compensation, thinking it would suffice.
Unwilling to accept this fate, the protagonist trained relentlessly in martial arts seeking revenge. Later, he stumbled upon a critically injured Spirit Master and painstakingly managed to save him.
Before dying, the Spirit Master imparted all his knowledge to him and instructed him to go to Atlantis City-States to study at the Spirit Master Academy.
The more Xiar read, the more familiar the plot seemed. A thought struck him, leaving him utterly speechless: "Wait a minute, that scion is me!"
Previously, he had asked the coachman Hans to find two hunters, but they were all killed by a terrifying monster. Marcus took on the subsequent responsibilities and did not allow him to intervene.
Given the way the other party handled matters, it was likely just as depicted in the story—merely tossing some money as if it would resolve everything without caring about any enmity.
This meant he was indeed that callous scion in the narrative!
Upon further examination of the storyline, he discovered that the character was named Simon Thompson, an ordinary seventeen-year-old boy from town with thick eyebrows and bright eyes—a very likable appearance.
Oh right, he also had a childhood friend named Eve. Their families had planned for them to get engaged once she grew up. However, her parents were brutally murdered by Bandits while they were away, and the lovely girl was forcibly taken by a scion—yes, that scion was still Xiar!
"At that time, he received a pet from his hunter father; it looked like a deep purple ball with blue wings—an extremely rare creature. After being taken in by that critically injured Spirit Master, it became his Main Totem."
Xiar quickly organized and reviewed information regarding this character since he had already been deemed an enemy for killing his father and abducting his wife. It was better to strike first and eliminate him.
Even if he couldn't defeat him due to the protagonist's aura, he needed to seize opportunities from him as much as possible to weaken his power and prevent his rise.
"That totem is weak at first; even after Evolution, it's still subpar. However, its greatest advantage is how easy it is to evolve—smoothly progressing through Evolution, Ultimate Evolution, and Super Evolution. Only after becoming a divine beast does it unleash its terrifying might comparable to that of phoenixes and dragons!"
After flipping through the storyline, Xiar was astonished to discover that the critically injured Spirit Master was none other than Bruce!
"So my dear teacher killed the original Xiar and passed all his knowledge onto Simon. Then after becoming a Spirit Master, he used his extraordinary abilities to annihilate the Mestlin Family when they were relocated from Rhein City, which had been breached by the Barbarians!
A surge of anger flickered in his eyes, ignited by the memories that fused within him, pushing him into a complete rage. He immediately rose to search for the whereabouts of his adversary, determined not to allow such a thing to happen again.
"Meow!"
At that moment, a White Shadow leaped up from the side and landed on his shoulder, causing Xiar to feel an unexpected joy. "Great! Firefly, I can't believe you're okay!"
He had thought that Firefly would be severely injured or even dead after the terrifying transformation they had just experienced. After all, it was the arrival of an Entity summoned through a future Super Evolution, crossing three levels without completely collapsing was already a stroke of luck.
"Meow!"
The white fox let out a soft cry, gently rubbing against his cheek, making him feel a bit ticklish.
He reached out to smooth down Firefly's disheveled fur, but the joy in his eyes faded, replaced by coldness. "Alright, we can play later. Right now, the most important thing is to find my diligent teacher."
The Story Data contained detailed records, even outlining the purpose behind his teacher taking him on as a student.
As he suspected, the intention was to quietly collect enough Source Crystals and Evolution Gems through him, an ordinary person, and then use him as cannon fodder when their enemy Kansius arrived.
The original Xiar did not possess such a terrifying Mapping ability; it took him two months just to barely reach proficiency. His teacher had promised to help create a totem for him.
The former owner had sent Marcus to find a powerful Forest Wolf, which was later summoned by the "teacher" into its Ultimate Form as the Howling Moon Wolf. After annihilating their enemies, it escaped from Shining Gold Town.
Next came the encounter with the protagonist Simon during a forest hunt... In other words, Bruce became a stepping stone for Simon, providing experience and equipment. Even the Top Source Artifact he fought hard to obtain was given away.
Unfortunately, with his arrival as an outsider, all outcomes were rewritten. The originally gravely injured Xiar would have been saved by Simon's intervention; instead, his arrival occupied Xiar's body and inherited his grudges...
When Xiar finally found Simon, he almost didn't recognize him. Simon was covered in soot, nearly turned to charcoal, with only a faint breath remaining.
"Teacher, are you alright?" Xiar quietly wiped away a tear and rushed forward in panic.
Bang!
He stumbled over a rock and pressed down on Simon's arm, completely breaking the already fragile limb.
However, Bruce showed no reaction; his nerve endings had long since dulled from the previous horrific backlash. Even without being touched by anyone else, he wouldn't last much longer.
“Xiar, I never expected you to have such a brilliant future. Forgive me for not teaching you well.”
Bruce's lips moved slightly, producing a muffled sound that made Xiar lean down to hear clearly. His face was filled with sorrow, tears streaming down as he said, “Teacher, you opened the door to a new world for me. You are my most respected teacher. Please don’t die!”
“Good child, no need to cry. I have seen the arrival of a divine beast with my own eyes; this is the ultimate glory pursued by countless Spirit Masters. Your future is bright. Promise me you will fulfill one last wish of mine; I will entrust everything to you.”
“Yes, I promise! I will do anything you ask!”
Then, the other person conveyed their final wish, instructing him to find a certain child and revealing the location of their hidden treasure while looking at him with hopeful eyes.
“Don’t worry, Teacher. I will take good care of my junior brother,” Xiar said, his expression shifting from sorrow to a sinister grin. “After all, what’s most important for a family is to be together. I will make sure he joins you!”
With a swift motion, he picked up the long sword dropped by a nearby guard and plunged it into Bruce's chest.
“Let him go!”
A cry came from afar, but Xiar paid no heed. He twisted the sword in Bruce's chest, ensuring his demise.
“If you don’t die, my heart won’t be at peace!”
