In the unfolding future narrative, Rody and those two individuals were among the first to arrive at this secret underground base, just as they are now.

The plot took a slightly melodramatic turn, but it was true. The emperor, feeling guilty, sent people to retrieve him, hoping to bring him back to Imperial Capital Grom.
It was only then that he discovered Neil and Kathy had pretended to be indifferent towards him because they already knew his identity. They aimed to become his most trusted friends and accompany him to the imperial capital to enjoy wealth and glory.
Such people made him wary. Xiar calmed his inner turmoil and replied softly, "It's nothing. I sustained some injuries and need to rest."
"Injured? Are you alright? I happen to have some medicine for external wounds. We are all under the protection of Guardian Spirit Light; could it be that your totem is injured?" Neil said anxiously as he stepped closer, appearing genuinely concerned about Xiar's condition.
A chill ran through Xiar as he realized he had been somewhat careless.
Because the Spirit Master was under the protection of the Guardian Spirit Light, this layer of defense was equivalent to three times that of a totem. This meant that as long as the totem remained undamaged, the Spirit Master would not be harmed at all!
In just a moment, he had inadvertently revealed his situation!
Step by step!
The sound of footsteps approached him like a death knell, quickly closing in on the tree hollow where he was hiding, and then appeared within his line of sight.
Neil still maintained his polite noble demeanor. Upon seeing him sitting in the tree hollow, he paused for a moment, then lowered his gaze to the white fox in his arms. “Xiar, what kind of monster did you encounter? How did you get so badly injured? Even the Guardian Spirit Light has disappeared. Did your Main Totem die?”
“No, it was just swatted by a monster, causing Firefly to sustain a minor injury.” Xiar’s face was pale, but he forced a smile, trying to change the subject. “By the way, where is your sister? Isn’t she with you?”
“Kathy and I got separated. That foolish girl, I really worry about her encountering some monster.” His words were filled with concern, yet his expression remained unchanged, as if he were speaking about a stranger.
Then, his gaze fixated on Xiar's chest, where there was a faintly glowing colorful aura. “Xiar, what is that? Why is it emitting colorful light?”
Xiar maintained his smile and took out a seed resembling a Colorful Puffball from his pocket.
Upon closer inspection, it resembled a Pine Cone but was not made up of individual seeds; rather, it looked like layers of colorful scales.
These scales shimmered like crystals, refracting the light from within. When held in hand, one could feel a subtle rhythmic vibration, almost like breathing.
As long as one wasn’t blind, it was clear that this object was anything but ordinary. Neil’s eyes sparkled with growing greed as he gazed at it.
He originally accompanied Rody to take on missions, intending to forge a bond of friendship through danger, ensuring that when the other returned to the Imperial Capital, he would never be forgotten.
With his meager talents and the identity of a destitute noble, relying on himself to achieve Main Totem Evolution seemed like a distant dream.
It was far better to find a way to cling to someone powerful, hoping to benefit from their success. He had inadvertently discovered Rody's true identity and couldn't wait to get closer.
Otherwise, how could he, a proud person at heart, ever regard someone like the unknown rookie Spirit Master, who was merely riding on a stroke of luck?
Now, he felt a unique charm emanating from that Colorful Puffball, causing the bird perched on his shoulder to tremble with eagerness to approach.
Clearly, this was an extraordinary treasure beyond his imagination, even more beneficial than relying on Rody to return to the Imperial Capital!
"Xiar, toss that thing over here so I can take a look. I've never seen anything like it," he said, suppressing his excitement while still unwilling to take risks.
After all, the other party was the son of a Lord; knowing what cards they had up their sleeves made it wiser to rely on words to entice them.
"Neil, I think I've figured out a bit of its use. I'm not sure if it's true; do you want to take a look first?" Xiar said with a smile while holding the Pine Cone.
"What use?" Neil asked, slightly taken aback and eager for more information.
"I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like it can make cultivated creatures stronger," Xiar casually grabbed a dark green Lizard from nearby.
This Lizard was less than thirty centimeters long, with a rounded mouth that clearly indicated it wasn't some terrifying monster; instead, it looked clumsy and adorably silly.
"Show me what it's good for!" Neil's eyes were fixed on the next move, his tone taking on a commanding edge. A mere ordinary reptile, even if something unusual happened, could not possibly threaten him.
Then he saw Xiar place the Colorful Puffball on top of the Lizard's head. A layer of colorful light flowed down from above, enveloping the Lizard completely.
What he couldn't see was a virtual panel appearing before Xiar, filled with rows of numbers and text prompts:
"Jungle Lizard: Special Totem, Not Evolved, Can Enhance, Evolution Success Rate 80%, Cost: 1 Evolution Point;
Ability: Feeding."
With a thought, he pressed down hard on the "+" sign with his mental energy. A warm current flowed out from his forehead and surged into the Lizard's body.
"Hey, what's happening? Why can't I see any changes?" Neil stepped closer, puzzled.
As the Colorful Radiance dissipated, the Lizard appeared unchanged, still looking as silly and adorable as before.
However, just as he was about to reach out and snatch it away to explore its uses himself, a shocking transformation occurred!
The Lizard began to expand like a balloon. To Neil's astonishment, it grew from less than an arm's length to over three meters long in an instant.
A large mouth filled with jagged teeth opened slightly, and its narrow, cold eyes glared at him menacingly!
