Seeing the Future?!
He was indeed a madman. How could he have ever believed the other person's words? Rody stood up and left immediately.
How could anyone possibly predict the future? That was a power reserved for the divine. If one could foresee the future, there would be nothing they couldn't achieve.
If he could see the future, his father wouldn't have died from a mere cold, just because of a slight delay!
"I know it's hard for you to believe me, but I can see scenes of what will happen in the future. These images are being verified one by one, allowing me to understand everything."
The other person shrugged and gave a wry smile, casually summoning his totem, which was a rather peculiar creature.
It was entirely golden, with a head resembling that of a monkey and a body like that of a lion, complete with a pair of enormous silver wings on its back.
As the wings flapped, its golden fur danced in the wind, resembling golden waves that were particularly eye-catching.
"This is my Main Totem. After living together with me, I later discovered it is a Supreme Totem Beast," Allen briefly introduced.
Supreme!
The word made Rody's heart skip a beat. As a Spirit Master, he knew very well that totems had limitations based on their attributes.
The higher the attribute, the greater the chance of evolving into a divine beast.
His own attribute was merely average; at most, he could achieve Ultimate Evolution and that would be his limit.
However, an extraordinary attribute meant that as long as the other party didn't fall midway and had enough resources, there was more than a fifty percent chance of completing Super Evolution in the future!
Rody examined the totem, noticing its eyes were distinctly black and white, resembling human eyes closely.
Moreover, at its forehead, there was a tightly shut vertical eye, shrouded in a faint Silver Light, giving it an air of mystery.
"I've never seen anything like it..." Rody shook his head, but he wasn't too concerned. There were countless species in this world, and he had encountered barely one percent of them.
"I only gained this ability after it completed its Evolution. From some ancient texts, I learned that this is Skefin, a miraculous being said to predict the future."
Seeing Rody still wearing a skeptical expression, Allen smiled and said, "In my dream, I saw a vast forest underground. At the very center of the forest stood a peculiar tree, bearing fruits that transitioned from gray at the bottom to vibrant colors at the top."
As Allen spoke, Rody's face lit up with astonishment because what the other described was almost identical to his previous experience, and he hadn't shared any details about the tree with anyone.
"Don't doubt that I'm part of that organization; I have a deep-seated grudge against them. If you need further proof, you can follow me to a place in Storm Harbor. You don't have to worry about me being harmful to you."
Clearly sensing Rody's concerns, Allen offered reassurance. After pondering for a moment, Rody nodded. "Alright!"
His Main Totem had undergone an Evolution that significantly boosted his strength, making him comparable to a top-tier Second-Level Spirit Master, so he wasn't overly fearful of Allen.
"Then let's go; time is of the essence," Allen said with an increasingly gentle smile, exuding a sense of relief.
Suddenly puzzled, Rody asked, "Why do you trust me so much? Aren't you afraid I'll reveal your abilities to others?"
Allen paused for a moment and looked at him seriously. "Because you are a hero."
Well then, it was hard to understand; indeed, this person's thoughts were quite unusual!
Rody shook his head and followed the other person out of the tavern.
...
In Storm Harbor, a regular restaurant, a man in a silver-gray robe sat by the window. His handsome features and elegant demeanor attracted quite a few glances.
He spread a map on the table, casually took a sip of hot water, and focused intently on the map.
The thick parchment was filled with various terrains outlined in black ink, clearly depicting mountains and territories. It looked quite similar to the world he had come from, clearly crafted with care; it was understandable that such a map would cost five gold coins.
Storm Harbor was the southernmost city of the Empire and one of its five famous port cities, separated from the Eastern Continent by a vast ocean.
To the south lay the endless Twilight Forest and Wogul Wasteland, while only the northern region featured fertile plains.
"The True God Cult has three branches in Farn County, with the most important being that underground cavern. They must be trying to relocate the Seed of the Tree of Life right now. The branch I destroyed was merely an assassin group made up of ordinary people, aimed at assassinating the Lord of Farn County; it won't significantly affect their plans."
Xiar frowned as he studied the map, sifting through memories in his mind before his finger landed on Storm Harbor's location. "The third branch is located in Storm Harbor's Noble District, under the patronage of a noble who has allied with them."
The True God Cult was an organization attempting to create "gods," and in the future, they would be able to confront the Two Great Empires directly. Their influence was evidently more complex than it appeared on the surface, having seduced many nobles to secretly support them.
From what he understood about future events, they mostly revolved around major incidents or significant characters.
That noble character met an untimely end shortly after being introduced in the storyline; after all, he was just an ordinary person seeking power beyond mortal limits.
Members of the True God Cult could indeed use colorful Pine Cones to partially totemize human bodies, granting them extraordinary abilities.
The cost, of course, was to become someone else's servant, with little chance of advancement, at best comparable to an Evolved Grade Totem.
In contrast, the technology researched by Morent Academy allowed individuals to continuously evolve through the fusion of various powerful beings' Bloodlines, without such drawbacks.
"The Evolved Warrior from Morent should have arrived here as well; I just don't know where he is," Xiar rubbed his temples.
A vast Story Database resided in his mind, and each time he delved into it, it consumed a significant amount of mental energy, leaving him easily fatigued.
In the next half month, a battle involving the Ultimate Totem would erupt near Storm Harbor.
In this battle, Rody and that Evolved Warrior would be the absolute protagonists, defeating a Third-Level Spirit Master with their Secondary strength.
As protagonists, if they didn't surpass their enemies, could they still be considered protagonists?
Rody's Main Totem was destined to be known as the Totem King in the future, possessing terrifying power and defense; a single punch could shatter a mountain!
That individual was no slouch either; he embodied the pinnacle of Morent Academy's Human Super Evolution technology, representing the peak achievement of this groundbreaking invention.
In the future, through a twist of fate, he would fuse with a Divine Beast Bloodline, making his strength not much weaker than Rody's and establishing himself as a leading figure in Morent Academy.
The existence of these two made Xiar uneasy. He worried that they might receive favor from fate itself, allowing them to grow faster through any crisis they faced together. His gaze flickered uncertainly:
"Perhaps I can find an opportunity to eliminate one of Fate's Seven to test my theory!"
