The next day, as the sun rose, a weary traveler arrived in a town located northwest of Storm Harbor.
His face was pale, etched with fatigue, and he hurried into the only inn in town, ignoring the warm water offered by the innkeeper. He collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep immediately.
"It seems like a hunter, but there are no signs of blood on him. Did he just go out for fun?" the innkeeper muttered in confusion, glancing at the gold coin in his hand, which made him smile broadly.
Regardless of the traveler's identity, he had been quite generous, casually tossing a gold coin without a second thought.
The cost of living in the town was not high; a night's stay would only set him back a few Copper Coins. With one gold coin, he could stay for an entire month.
Given how carefree the traveler seemed, it was clear he was well-off, which stirred some unusual thoughts in the innkeeper's mind.

Xiar woke up hungry, lazily stretching his sore arms and legs while staring blankly out the window.
It wasn't until the aroma of pancakes wafted in that he snapped back to reality. He dressed quickly and roused the still-sleeping white fox. Cradling it in his arms amidst the creaking sounds underfoot, he descended the wooden stairs and ordered a meal in the dining hall on the first floor.
He placed a chicken leg in front of the white fox, Firefly, who sat on the chair and grasped it with its front paws, eagerly gnawing away at it.
It looked just like a person, leaving the innkeeper nearby somewhat dumbfounded.
"Sir, your pet seems very intelligent!" The innkeeper finally spoke up as Firefly devoured its second chicken leg.
"Yes, it's always been this perceptive; it can even understand my words," Xiar replied with a smile.
The innkeeper's face lit up with envy. "Such pets are truly hard to find. Enjoy your meal; I won't disturb you further."
Xiar paid no mind and finished off a large pile of food before sharing a three or four-pound braised chicken with Firefly.
Nighttime was when beasts hunted, and those Radiation Monsters were no exception. Xiar spent the entire night hunting in the wild, eager to accumulate enough Evolution Points to prepare for future upheavals.
Logically speaking, going to Storm Harbor to take on bounty missions to hunt down wanted Spirit Masters should have been much better than this aimless hunting.
Unfortunately, having taken down Neil earlier, Rody had already reported him to the Bounty Guild and even sought to issue a bounty.
Fortunately for him, he was still the son of a Hereditary Noble of the Empire while Rody was merely an ordinary Spirit Master from a common family. Thus, the Bounty Guild did not allow such missions to be posted.
At that moment, the privileges of nobility were evident; he had killed the other party's friend, yet they could not directly pursue him.
Both Rody and Kathy's words could not serve as evidence; it required Xiar's personal admission or for more people to witness it before the Empire's Bounty Guild would issue a mission to hunt him down.

Such an arrogant move naturally attracted the encirclement of two other major forces, who struck down one base station after another.
No one would allow their every action to be monitored, especially since the other two forces sought to seize control of the net. Unable to gain control, they chose destruction instead.
In the end, due to too many Base Stations being destroyed, the net's surveillance function vanished entirely, leaving only basic communication links and totem-assisted Spirit Techniques provided by higher-ups to their subordinates.
The effectiveness was reduced by ninety percent, but it was still enticing enough. Xiar intended to infiltrate and become a "net worm."
The biggest problem before him was that others knew this signal terminal had been seized. When the net officially activated, they would definitely be able to locate his position.
"So, I must eliminate all True God Cult members in Farn County. As long as these people are gone, no one can stop me from using Colorful Puffball," Xiar pondered.
However, the True God Cult had five Second-Level Spirit Masters in Farn County, which was not something he could easily confront.
He needed to obtain the antidote for the poison in his father, Burgano, from the other party.
He had to find a way to follow Rody and that Evolved Warrior, as blending in seemed to be his best option. This would also give him a chance to see if he could seize the treasures of the True God Cult.
Evolution Points could force an Evolution directly, but using gems and other materials not only significantly reduced the consumption of Evolution Points but also greatly increased the success rate. It was worth risking everything for.
