In the afternoon, at the North Gate of Storm Harbor, a black carriage approached gracefully, drawn by two striking black stallions that were even more impressive than those of the Storm Harbor mounted police.
As it moved along, a passenger inside suddenly pulled back one side of the curtain and locked eyes with a young man standing by the roadside.
The young man had short, wine-red hair and wore a silver-gray robe, exuding an air of elegance and scholarly demeanor. He cradled a pure white fox in his arms, which added to his noble appearance.
However, he stood in the shadow of a building, his eyes cold as ice.
The owner of the carriage had blood-red hair that swayed gently, and his extraordinarily strong physique radiated an overwhelming sense of pressure. His gaze was calm and steady, like an emotionless iron-blooded warrior.
"Same kind."
The person in the carriage uttered a single word before casually letting the curtain fall back into place. The carriage resumed its slow passage past him.
He had come!
Xiar stood in place, a faint smile appearing on his face as he seemed to anticipate what would happen next.
How could he not be excited? After all, he greatly admired Morent's Human Super Evolution technology; transforming into a humanoid beast was a dream cherished by countless passionate men. What could be more exhilarating than smashing everything with an iron fist?
"Hey, wait for me!" A man dressed in a Platinum Suit rushed over from behind, calling out as he ran, drawing many curious glances.
"Forget it; I’m not selling it to you." Xiar frowned, increasingly annoyed by this persistent man's attempts to cling to him.
This man was none other than Daniel Kelly, the noble son who had previously tried to buy Firefly. After being taught a lesson by Firefly's psychic abilities, he seemed to have lost his mind and insisted on following Xiar around, claiming he wanted to win over the white fox through action.
Panting heavily, Daniel Kelly reached Xiar's side and leaned against the wall for support. "Come on, brother! How about 1,000 gold coins? That's all I've got; surely it's enough to buy your fox!"
"Sorry, but I won't sell it no matter how much you offer." Xiar gently patted Firefly to calm its ruffled fur and prevent any rash movements. He then looked at Daniel with curiosity. "With your status, you shouldn't have to go through so much trouble to buy a pet."
Daniel Kelly was the only son of Viscount Kelly and the future heir of his family. They owned vast maritime trade interests and were wealthier than the Mestlin Family.
Behind him stood two silver-armored guards, both nearly at School Level strength, providing close protection for his safety.
Daniel leaned closer, his face twisted in disdain as he rubbed his hands together and whispered, "Brother, that fox of yours must be a legendary spirit beast, right? You can't find a good one on the market!"
"Oh, and what of it? Do you want to force a deal?" Xiar replied nonchalantly, showing no concern. Those two guards were just ordinary people; they couldn't even touch the hem of his garment.
"Cough, cough, I'll be straightforward. I've seen people like you who can cultivate extremely terrifying beasts with all sorts of incredible abilities!"
Xiar quietly stared at him, his eyes cold as ice, making Daniel shiver involuntarily, as if he were being watched by a terrifying predator.
Clang!
The two guards instantly drew their swords, their faces filled with vigilance as they fixed their gazes on him, fearful of any sudden movements.
But Xiar didn't spare them a glance, continuing to regard Daniel with indifference.
Daniel hurriedly waved his hand, signaling the two guards to step back a bit. Then he put on a flattering smile. "Brother, don't misunderstand. I know people like you don't like dealing with ordinary folks. I just want to make a friend and maybe get a favor... How about you send me a spirit beast when you have the chance?"
"That's not impossible. But first, help me out—take me to a banquet."
Xiar nodded seriously. Daniel's face lit up with joy as he repeatedly assured him and called for the family carriage to take him to the estate located north of Storm Harbor...
...
Today was Baron Dylan's fiftieth birthday celebration. Many nobles from Storm Harbor had come to celebrate, and the entire estate was bustling with activity.
However, unbeknownst to anyone, in a hidden room within the estate, two individuals sat facing each other.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Leslie, but I cannot agree to your request; it's our core capability," said the woman in green gauze as she sat with her legs crossed, her smooth white thighs nearly exposed to the root.
If one looked down slightly, they could even catch a glimpse of black lace in that secret place, an alluring scent wafting through the room.
Yet the burly Crimson-Haired Man before her remained unfazed and instead wore a faint smirk. "Yolanda, do you really think your delusions can succeed?"
"Stop dreaming. The Two Great Empires will never allow you to grow stronger. It would be best for you to cooperate with us honestly, or what awaits you is annihilation!"
The Green-Dressed Woman revealed a seductive smile, her charm growing more captivating by the moment. As her sheer garment slipped away, it exposed large swathes of her snow-white skin. "Why do you think you can't succeed? Besides, you're here all alone. Aren't you afraid I might keep you here forever?"
She moved closer, her delicate hand gently caressing his cheek, her body pressing against him. The fragrance around her intensified, and her body heat became increasingly overwhelming as she gazed at him with breathy allure.
Unfortunately, no matter how much she teased, he remained as unyielding as a solid block of wood, showing no sign of desire. Instead, he pointed dismissively outside. "Dirty woman, stay away from me—there's a man out there who would gladly take you. Go find him!"
Yolanda's face turned icy, a chilling murderous intent radiating from her. Gritting her teeth in anger, she exclaimed, "That damn guy really thinks I'm easy to bully! I'll kill him right now!"
"Oh, feel free. If you need help, I can lend a hand—but only if you give me a key to the Source Gate," Leslie said lightly, sitting there without making any move.
He had come all the way from Morent to see if he could acquire something special. Many in the academy were dissatisfied with him monopolizing vast resources.
He needed to establish some results quickly; otherwise, continuing his Evolution would be impossible on his own.
At that moment, his previously calm expression suddenly changed dramatically as he faintly heard an odd melody—like a sweet girl softly humming—but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't locate its source.
In his perception, the entire world seemed to be swallowed by some invisible force. He could no longer sense the familiar starlight or the sound of the wind; everything fell silent except for that strange melody!
"La~ la la la~ la~ la~ la la..."
