The saying goes, "If you don't seek death, you won't die."
On the surface, this person appeared to be a gentleman, but inside, he was twisted and perverse!
It seemed that everything came too easily for him. Since childhood, he had gotten whatever he wanted: the Supreme Totem Beast, the top-tier Rune Factory, an array of runes and Spirit Techniques to choose from, and an almost limitless supply of various gem materials...
The Glenos Family, wealthy enough to rival nations, devoted all their resources to nurturing him, hoping to make him the second Fourth-Level Expert of the family.
This family was founded five hundred years ago by a Fourth-Level Spirit Master, who left behind a divine beast that protected the family for three hundred years before passing away.
No matter how powerful a divine beast is, it cannot last for a millennium. Bound by the ties of its soul, it can at most fall into slumber after its master dies, only able to act once after a long period of time. Most of the time, it exists in a half-alive state, and even then, it can only last less than two hundred years.
Now that the family's guardian beast was nearing its end, they desperately needed a super strong individual to support the family. Isaac was their greatest hope, so naturally, they catered to all his needs.
This led him to develop an arrogant and twisted mindset; his usual gentleness was merely a facade. Thus, he cooperated with the academy to conduct that incredibly cruel experiment, personally snuffing out one pitiful life after another.
Relying on his invincible strength in the early stages, he toyed with his victims like a cat playing with a mouse. Time and again, when he had the chance to kill them, he would "accidentally" let them go.
In his eyes, the most successful outcome of the Human Super Evolution project could serve as his best toy.
Since they were toys, he certainly wouldn't want to break them carelessly; otherwise, he'd be bored later...
"The villain dies from too much talk; if you meet such an end, it's your own doing," Xiar scoffed at this notion.
After finishing his teaching duties, Xiar followed Gafiel to the laboratory to continue working overtime.
"Good evening, Xiar," several seniors greeted him with friendly nods.
"Good evening."
Thanks to his formidable Mapping abilities, he successfully gained their attention and was treated as an equal rather than as an inexperienced novice.
The four individuals were all Second-Level Spirit Masters, each a standout among the Students, which was why they could enter this laboratory.
After all, Gafiel was one of the higher-ups in the academy, possessing a formidable reputation and impressive strength.
However, Xiar felt an urge to laugh every time he looked at Gafiel's features; he resembled a frog too much. During the lecture earlier, he nearly blurted out his thoughts.
The research targets remained Radiation Creatures, bizarrely shaped beings that had been sent to the laboratory. After dissection and reconstruction by the Rune Factory, they were studied comprehensively, resulting in the most detailed research reports.
There was no choice; as the Source Gate opened little by little, more and more Radiation Creatures escaped. Some even flew across the sea to Atlan, causing terrible casualties.
The academy now dispatched a hunting team to Harrison every few days to hunt those terrifying Radiation Creatures.
Busy until late at night, Xiar stretched and exchanged greetings with a few people before quickly leaving the laboratory.
Caw!
On his way back, Xiar suddenly heard a sharp bird call from above as a massive black bird soared through the sky.
This was a common occurrence that didn’t catch his attention; after all, Morent was a city centered around Spirit Masters, where various Totem Beasts often flew overhead…
The Black Giant Bird flew out of the academy and continued on to the forests of Northern Island.
This island was the largest in Atlan, filled with vast primeval forests used by the academy for numerous experiments to observe creatures' behaviors under natural conditions.
In a clearing stood a Silver-Robed Man quietly, holding a goblet filled with crimson liquid, resembling a vampire from mythology.
Around him was a shadow that resembled an agile Monkey, leaping between trees with such speed that it almost seemed like a ghost.
The Silver-Robed Man stood there silently, licking the liquid that dripped from his lips. A strange smile crept across his face as he asked, "Aren't you tired?"
"I'm not as useless as you think. Do you really believe that just spinning around can confuse me? This isn't some pitiful lamb on the grasslands."
The enemy, hidden in the shadows, continued to circle silently, eventually merging into the darkness.
"How boring," he murmured, casually tossing aside his goblet and turning towards the Black Giant Bird, seemingly intending to leave.
Whoosh!
At that moment, a black figure sprang from behind him, transforming into a sharp blade with a piercing sound as it rushed toward him!
However, as the shadow approached within thirty meters, its speed suddenly halved, and it slowed down even more as it got closer, eventually stumbling forward.
"Another one of those tricks. How dull," the Silver-Robed Man said, turning to face his opponent with disappointment in his eyes. "I thought you might have something new. Since you can't entertain me, just go die."
Boom!
At that moment, the shadow, seemingly stuck in a quagmire, suddenly erupted with crimson light from behind, its speed increasing exponentially.
As it drew near, it became clear that the shadow was armed to the teeth, like a War Machine, with weapons on its arms, legs, feet, and hands.
Unfortunately, it still proved ineffective as it halted five meters in front of the Silver-Robed Man.
"Interesting. Finally some progress."
A hint of excitement appeared on the Silver-Robed Man's face as he elegantly approached. Suddenly, a vortex materialized before him, and a massive blood-red mouth emerged from it, swallowing his opponent's head in one bite!
"Too bad; you're still too weak. How boring."
He gently pushed the headless corpse away, which fell to the ground with a thud, blood gushing out like a fountain as the thick scent of blood filled the air.
The Silver-Robed Man licked the blood from his hands and turned to climb onto the back of the Black Giant Bird. The massive creature flapped its wings and soared into the sky, carrying him toward the academy.
The bright moonlight spilled down, illuminating the headless corpse and casting an even more sinister aura over the scene.
Several Gray Robed Figures suddenly emerged from the forest, opening a large chest to stuff the body inside before hastily departing the area...

The next morning, at Morent Academy, Building 106.
This building was the most unique on campus, surrounded by tall walls that completely barred ordinary Students from entering.
