More than ten years had passed since the previous shocking transformation, and the city had undergone a complete upheaval.
As the three entered, they could see wide, flat roads bustling with various bizarre creatures serving as mounts, along with numerous Steam Locomotives.
In the sky, flying insects with wingspans ranging from several meters to over ten meters soared gracefully.
These flying insects were said to be specially created by the Source Lord, considered the most advanced mode of Transportation. The cost for a single ride was at least several dozen Source Points, allowing travel between Source City and the other five cities in Farn County.
Only the wealthy or powerful Source Energy Warriors could afford to use them; others preferred to save money by using ground Transportation options.
Most ground Transportation tools were newly emerged insects that could be purchased with Source Points in various forms.
Just then, an insect with an oval shell passed by them.
The insect was three meters long, featuring an oval-shaped shell adorned with round spots. On its back was a seat covered in fur, where a young man sat comfortably.
It looked somewhat comical but was faster than a horse, its eight legs creating phantoms as it swiftly dashed past the three.
“That bastard! Running so fast, is he looking for death? Doesn’t he fear violating the Transportation laws set by the Source Lord?” Ma Fei cursed but looked on enviously at the figure disappearing into the distance.
There was no way around it; such a mount would cost at least thousands of Source Points, far beyond what most adventurers could afford.
Besides serving as mounts, these insects possessed strength comparable to First-Level Source Energy Warriors. In critical moments when facing enemies, they could also act as helpers. Adventurers with extra funds would definitely buy one!
“The Transportation laws allow such rapid movement as long as you don’t hit anyone. The center of the continent is meant for these speedy individuals to pass through; walking is not permitted,” said the burly man, Keton, who seemed more open-minded. He gave Ma Fei a light tap on the head. “Once you save enough Source Points, you can buy one too and run like that.”
“I wish I could…” Ma Fei muttered under his breath.
No matter how powerful these insect mounts were, they were ultimately external forces. What he truly desired was a Secondary Source Elixir; once he obtained it, his strength would undoubtedly crush these insects.
Strength was the ultimate truth. Once he gained formidable power, he wouldn’t just be able to roam through Moonlight Forest; even Twilight Forest would be within his reach. He could catch whatever he wanted!
“The Source Lord is indeed great! More impressive than any emperor; it’s as if he’s a creator who can bring any kind of creature into existence! I have my eye on a mount that looks like a black-and-white bear; it’s so adorable! Once I have enough Source Points, I will definitely buy one!” Tracy said cheerfully.
"Don't be reckless!" Cruton immediately scolded her, turning to look around. "Even though the Empire is facing a crisis, it's still not something we should take lightly!"
Ma Fei shrugged nonchalantly. "Hey, what's there to be afraid of? I've heard that the northern part of Farn County has been completely overrun, cities have been slaughtered by monsters, and millions have died. Unlike us here, under the great light of the Source Lord, those monsters are behaving themselves and don't dare to riot!"
"Sigh, this world is changing too fast. I've heard that animals in other places are going mad and attacking humans, resulting in countless deaths—thankfully, we are in the territory of the Source Lord!" Cruton wasn't scolding her anymore; instead, he sighed and gestured across his chest. "Thank you, Source Lord!"
