It was terrifying. Despite having read countless materials related to Spirit Masters and memorizing the entire knowledge of the school with her remarkable memory, she had never encountered anything so strange.
In the sky, an enormous city suddenly appeared, filling the entire dome. It floated silently in the air, with thick dark green tentacles hanging down from its walls.
From the lowest ends of these tentacles, countless grayish-white threads extended all the way from the sky to the ground, landing on the dismembered corpse of a Lava Dragon.
What sent chills down her spine was that a faint, ethereal shadow emerged from the Lava Dragon's body—it was a miniature version of the Lava Dragon.
This shadow of the Lava Dragon was being pulled towards the dome by the threads, and then it was swallowed whole by a blood-red maw that appeared on the tentacles!
"What on earth is this existence?"
Cecilia felt a chill run through her body as she realized for the first time that there were things in this world far more terrifying than Disaster Beasts.
Could that dragon shadow be a soul?
In the understanding of Spirit Masters, every creature possesses a soul, and mental power is merely its external manifestation.

But now, that sensation had abruptly vanished, as if the other no longer existed in this world!
"Indeed, it seems something unfortunate has occurred!" Warner said solemnly. He too had accepted Source Energy Parasitism and was involved in the operation of the Magic Web. The previous disbanded member, Garcia, was his spiritual avatar within the Magic Web.
This allowed him to mobilize the collective spirit of the entire Source Nation's people, constructing a vast ocean of mental energy that would astonish even a Fourth-Level Spirit Master.
Then, under Firefly's command, they unleashed a terrifying mental force to crush the defenses of a Fourth-Level Spirit Master purely through overwhelming numbers, which enabled them to eliminate a peak Fourth-Level Spirit Master in one fell swoop!
But now he was shocked to discover that the terrifying entity capable of slaying Disaster Beasts had completely vanished without a trace!
"Don't spread this outside; let's keep things as they are. It seems some unexpected incident has occurred. We should wait quietly," Warner sighed.
As an extraordinary Spirit Master, he was still only a Third-Level Spirit Master himself, far from being able to confront disasters directly. He could only contribute slightly in previous battles without being able to engage directly.

After an unknown amount of time, Cecilia opened her eyes again and was startled to find herself in a very strange place.
It was strange because she felt an endless pressure surrounding her, as if the entire world was hostile towards her, wanting to drive her away!
Everything at noon was shrouded in a grayish light, making it feel incredibly unreal, reminiscent of a dream. The overwhelming sense of incongruity made it impossible for her to perceive this place as the world she had lived in for over a decade.
A grayish sky.
A grayish ground.
There was not a hint of greenery around; no plants or animals could be seen. It was as if the entire world was enveloped in a deathly silence so profound that she couldn't even sense any signs of her own existence.
"Is this... the world after death?" Cecilia murmured.
As a First-Level Spirit Master, despite being somewhat clever, she ultimately could not contend with various dangers.
Nevertheless, everything that had happened today had only made her more excited; otherwise, she wouldn't have been reckless enough to attempt to deceive an invincible being like a deity.
"This is the world inside the Source Gate!"
A youthful, crisp voice rang out, startling her. She quickly turned her head and was met with something so familiar it took her breath away—her Main Totem!
"You can talk too?" Her eyes widened. The fact that the two Insect Beasts could speak had already shattered her worldview, but she never expected her Totem Beast could do the same!
Having spent over five years with this Totem Beast she found by the roadside, she had always been frustrated by its inability to evolve, despite its intelligence.
But now, she was astonished to discover that this Totem Beast she had considered useless was far from ordinary!
"Of course!" The creature rolled its eyes in a human-like manner but was immediately met with a rough reprimand from its owner, who tugged its ear and scolded, "So you've been deceiving me all along. What exactly are you?"
"Stop it! I am a native of this place, the guardian of the planet's essence!" Mokona protested, gently pushing her away.
The Silver-Haired Youth nearby asked curiously, "What is a guardian?"
"A guardian is someone who protects the essence of this planet from being taken by outsiders!"
Mokona looked at him warily with its adorably innocent face, seemingly regarding him as an enemy. It spoke with authority, "Human, I can sense that your soul essence does not belong to this planet. Are you one of those outsiders?"
