After the sacrificial fusion with Onyxia, he gained the ability to grow stronger through devouring, which became his greatest assurance for rapid advancement.
However, this was a Bloodline left behind by a certain king. Simply consuming it would at most elevate him to Soldier Level.
Yet the figures approaching from outside were all at least Soldier Level, and some were Transcendent Beings far more powerful than Vilanica!
Merely eating this egg would bring him disaster; there would be no way to escape!
Thus, Xiar's goal was not simply to devour but to completely replace it, occupying its body and being reborn in another form.

Having the ability for Soul Traversal and becoming such an important figure made her one of the absolute protagonists in the future struggle for dominance in the world. This indicated that her background was incredibly formidable; she might very well be a direct descendant of a certain king.
Hadn't Oniens mentioned that even Isaac, whom he had killed, was a descendant of a king? There was no reason for her to be any less significant.
The Inheritance Factor did not merely exist within the body; its essence resided entirely within the soul. This meant she possessed a legacy far beyond that of ordinary disaster creatures and likely shared a common origin with these Firebird monsters.

This was a devouring at the level of the soul; it was no longer merely a physical consumption to strengthen the body. Failure would mean that the other party would occupy everything he had, gaining access to all his memories—a form of alternative reincarnation through possession!
But he had no choice. As he consumed the liquid from the Giant Egg, his body felt as if it were about to explode, unable to withstand the surge of power flooding into him.
At that moment, Xiar felt as if he had swallowed a blazing fireball, making him feel as though he were about to ignite completely. His spirit and soul burned fiercely, threatening to turn him to ash.

The Attribute Panel appeared. At the bottom of the character attributes, the number of Evolution Points had skyrocketed into the hundreds of thousands. Each time he killed a Disaster-Class Monster, he earned tens of thousands of Evolution Points. After consecutively defeating several monsters, he had amassed a significant amount.
Now, these Evolution Points had become his lifeline.
The Evolution Points flowed down like water, rapidly repairing his soul and spiritual will that had been torn apart by the resistance of the other party, while that entity continued its violent struggle.

Unfortunately, it was too lonely—so lonely that it could not see any kin.
Thus, it decided to create offspring, using itself as a template and its Source of Origin to produce descendants. This was the origin of countless Firebirds on this planet.
The creation of offspring consumed its endless life essence, leaving behind only this single Giant Egg before it fell into another slumber within the Star.
This egg had existed for far too long—so long that the Fire Tree seeds once scattered had grown into a Divine Tree towering tens of thousands of meters high.
The Giant Egg was nurtured within this Fire Tree, uncertain of when it would finally hatch or if it would ever hatch at all...
As fierce flames swept through, Xiar's soul remained calm as water. Drawing upon the absorbed Heritage Memories and some abilities from the previously merged Tiffany Bloodline related to the Immortal Fire Phoenix, he prepared for the final step.
"Rebirth!"
A spark of colorful flames ignited, causing his last remaining body to melt away in the fire, turning completely to ash along with everything else he possessed. Everything was obliterated in this terrifying fire of rebirth!
Meanwhile, a group of miniature Firebirds entered from outside, their urgent soul vibrations responding to the burning, colorful flames.
If Xiar's consciousness had lingered, it would have understood their conversation, which was a soul communication method just like that of humans.
"That damned thief actually stole the core essence of the Fire Tree, preventing the sole True God’s only Bloodline from being born normally!"
"After enduring countless changes over time, the Fire Tree finally nurtured its essence specifically for the Child of God to be born. Now that it has been stolen, the Child of God seems to be spiritually weakened and must undergo a rebirth!"
