"Come with me?" The Ice Maiden extended a delicate white hand, and without a moment's hesitation, Li Xiaonan grinned foolishly and took hold of Rouxia before him.
The corners of her mouth, hidden beneath the veil, curved into a graceful arc as she waved her left hand, producing a white mink fur cloak that she draped over Li Xiaonan's shoulders, leading him out of South Street.
In the blink of an eye, Li Xiaonan was clad in a light golden robe, one hand munching on a Spiritual Fruit while the other was held by the Ice Maiden. He thought to himself: This beautiful sister is not only stunning but also kind-hearted—a perfect example of a wealthy and beautiful woman. My luck is truly remarkable.
"Do you really not even remember your own name?" the Ice Maiden asked softly.
Li Xiaonan furrowed his brow, appearing to struggle with his memories. He stammered, "Li... Li Xiao... Li Xiaonan..."
The Ice Maiden smiled and said, "So your name is Li Xiaonan. How did you manage to offend a master at the Tribulation Stage?"
Li Xiaonan speculated in his heart; since the Ice Maiden said so, it seemed he had indeed been saved by her. He frowned, contemplating whether he should reveal his true self to her. But then he thought about how he was currently like a ticking time bomb—what if the foolish boy inside him suddenly took control again? That would be even more awkward. It was better to play the fool all the way through.
Three hours later.
"Big Brother! What brings you here?" Melt exclaimed in surprise. The figure before him wore an Ink Wash Robe that rustled in the air, long hair casually tied back, with sword-like brows and starry eyes exuding an aura of unspoken authority—this was a demeanor only possessed by those of high status. This person belonged to another realm; he was an immortal named Mo Changqing.
"What? Am I not allowed to come? Where's that kid?"
Melt scratched his head, thinking: This task assigned by the Ice Maiden is far too difficult; how could I possibly hold Big Brother back!
"Where's the Ice Maiden?" Mo Changqing asked.
"Uh... he..." Melt was always straightforward, and lying was far too difficult for him.
"Did you go looking for that kid?"
"Yeah..."
Mo Changqing smiled slightly. "The Ice Maiden is a smart person. Good, take me to see him. I want to find out just how special this kid really is!"
Melt sighed inwardly. The waters were getting murkier by the day. How much trouble could a single Cultivator stir up? Even the big shots from the celestial realm were coming down now?
He pouted and helplessly led Mo Changqing toward South Street, which was the last message the Ice Maiden had given him.
Yuan Xian'er returned to the place where she had agreed to meet Li Xiaonan, holding two warm meat buns in her hands. There was no sign of anyone around. She stomped her foot in frustration and shouted, "You little brat! I told you to wait for me, and you ran off! Hmph! I knew you weren't stupid. Just wait until I find you; you'll see how I deal with you! No, it's my master who will deal with you. I'll make sure you're left with nothing but your underwear!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she caught sight of a shadow in a black robe sneaking toward the alleyway. She pouted slightly and hurried over, grabbing the person's shoulder.
"Ah? Sorry, I mistook you for someone else."
"Oh! Little sister, you're really pretty. How about keeping your big brother company?"
Yuan Xian'er raised an eyebrow and put on a pitiful expression, speaking softly, "Big brother, that's not nice. I really like that outfit you're wearing. Where did you buy it?"
"This? A fool gave it to me! Ha..." Before he could finish his laugh, Yuan Xian'er knocked him out cold.
She frowned, feeling a twinge of regret for leaving Li Xiaonan alone. South Street was too chaotic, and she couldn't help but worry about his safety. Shaking her head, she preferred to believe in the first scenario: Li Xiaonan wasn't foolish; he had run off on his own.
As she walked toward the street corner, two elegantly dressed figures caught her attention. She smiled lightly and approached them slowly.
"Ah! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Yuan Xian'er "accidentally" bumped into Mo Changqing, smiling as she apologized.
Mo Changqing frowned slightly and looked down to find a Nascent Soul Stage Female Cultivator before him. He said nothing, smoothing his front and continuing on his way.
Yuan Xian'er touched her storage bracelet, a smug smile appearing on her face.
Mo Changqing furrowed his brow and asked, "Can't you just notify the Ice Maiden directly?"
Seeing Mo Changqing's expression, Melt broke out in a cold sweat. He knew all too well what that look meant—Mo Changqing was unhappy. When the elder brother was displeased, the consequences could be severe. After all, he had been an immortal for thousands of years; returning to this messy cultivation world would naturally sour his mood.
With a sigh, he sent out a communication talisman, thinking: Ice Maiden, I can't handle this anymore; it's all up to you now!
Meanwhile, the Ice Maiden and Li Xiaonan were sitting by the lake, lost in thought under the flowers and moonlight. Right now, Li Xiaonan seemed like a fool; even if he wanted to flirt with her, he wouldn't know how to go about it!
"Do you know? There was a time when I sat like this with him. He would pick blooming Jasmine flowers and tuck them behind my ear. Unfortunately, after the Transcend Tribulation, we were separated into different realms. Are you laughing at me? Laughing at how foolish I am?" The Ice Maiden turned to look at Li Xiaonan, who wore a silly grin.
She had already received Melt's signal. The time was too short; three hours with a fool wouldn’t lead to anything significant. If something did happen, it would raise suspicions. She had been watching Li Xiaonan closely; whether he was truly foolish or not was clear in her mind. She decided to take a step back to advance.
Li Xiaonan suddenly felt uncomfortable inside and mentally thanked the female ancestors of that man mentioned by the Ice Maiden. He plucked a blooming Jasmine flower and gently placed it by her ear, grinning as he said, "Flower... hehehe... looks good... and so do you... hehehe!"
The Ice Maiden's eyes flickered as she cast a glance at Li Xiaonan, who felt overwhelmed.
"Ice Maiden!" Both turned around, and it was Melt and Mo Changqing, with Melt calling out loudly on purpose.
Li Xiaonan wore a silly grin as he looked at the newcomers. "What the heck! Celestial Aura! An immortal? Could it be that the person Ice Maiden just mentioned is this guy? Why would an immortal come to this realm? Is he here for a woman? No way! Harmony Technique! That was too quick."
One had to admit that Li Xiaonan's brain was like a powerful association machine; he quickly grasped the key points. However, he only had suspicions. After all, not every immortal would come specifically for him; if that were the case, his status would be too inflated.
"Big brother, you’re here..." The Ice Maiden's voice was soft and gentle. Li Xiaonan nodded inwardly, confirming that it was indeed this guy. One had become a Scattered Immortal, and the other an immortal; they were truly separated by two realms.
Mo Changqing nodded and looked at Li Xiaonan, frowning again.
Suddenly, he struck out a palm towards Li Xiaonan, startling everyone. A beam of light struck a nearby rock. Li Xiaonan broke into a cold sweat, thinking: "What the hell! An immortal is testing me like this? I just glanced at your sister a few more times!"
He immediately categorized Mo Changqing as an enemy.
"Big brother, how did you come down?" The Ice Maiden glanced at the still grinning Li Xiaonan with a complicated expression.
"I..." Mo Changqing had just uttered a word when his brows furrowed. Melt and the Ice Maiden were taken aback; this expression indicated he was furious!
"My Heaven-Defying Mirror is missing!" Mo Changqing finally managed to say after holding it in for a while. Everyone present was stunned; who knew what the Heaven-Defying Mirror was!
Mo Changqing took a deep breath and added, "Without it, I can't come down, and without it, I can't go back up. It must have been that Yellow-Clad Woman!"
Suddenly, it dawned on Li Xiaonan that the Heaven-Defying Mirror was likely a Celestial Artifact capable of tearing through two realms. This immortal was quite foolish to throw away such a treasure. Yellow-Clad? Could it be that girl! How bold of her to steal right under an immortal's nose; she was in big trouble now!
As the saying goes, "If it doesn't concern you, just let it be." Li Xiaonan had no intention of playing the hero. He couldn't even handle the Scattered Immortal, let alone an immortal; that would be like going into a latrine with a lantern—looking for trouble!
Suddenly, Li Xiaonan's consciousness was pulled into Yuan Ying, and control of the body shifted back to the fool known as "Li Xiaonan."
Yuan Ying was furious, pacing in the Dantian, his pale flesh jiggling. "What are you doing? You want to play the hero? That's more like a bear saving a damsel! No! Even a bear is smarter than you!" He plopped down on the Lotus Seat. Although he had never formally communicated with the foolish Li Xiaonan, he gradually began to understand some things.
For instance, this kid loved to pick fights; whatever he wanted to do, he would do the opposite. And this time was no different.
"Li Xiaonan," he said sternly, suddenly running toward a narrow alley.
"What is he doing?" Melt frowned.
The Ice Maiden sighed and pointed at her head. "I can't figure him out either. I suspect something is off with him. Big Brother, you saw it too; just now he didn't even try to dodge..." She then recounted everything about Li Xiaonan without missing a word.
Mo Changqing nodded. "Ice Maiden, you continue to follow him; this person is very important. I must first catch that female thief!"
The Ice Maiden nodded and flew off in the direction Li Xiaonan had gone.
"Who?" A lecherous hand wrapped around Yuan Xian'er's waist.
With a tug of consciousness, Li Xiaonan returned, standing behind Yuan Xian'er with a grin. Inner Thoughts: Great! I owe you one; saving this girl should settle my debt!
"Is it you! Where have you been? I searched everywhere for you..." Li Xiaonan covered her delicate lips with his hand and whispered, "Shh! Don't say anything, come with me!" He took Yuan Xian'er's hand and led her to a less crowded area.
"Where are you taking me?"
Finally, they reached a deserted alley, and Li Xiaonan stopped, his expression serious. "Have you stolen something again?"
Yuan Xian'er shook off Li Xiaonan's hand and rubbed her wrist, mocking him. "What? You're not silly anymore, not putting your pants on your head! Oh! In the blink of an eye, you've changed your clothes. Do you think you're handsome now?"
Li Xiaonan felt a vein throb on his forehead; the incident of putting pants on his head could never get out—too embarrassing. He quickly made up an excuse. "I was practicing and got a bit carried away, sometimes my mind isn't right. But you still haven't answered me—did you steal something again?"
He sensed a powerful presence approaching and grew more anxious. He had already experienced the capabilities of the Scattered Immortal; facing an immortal? That wasn't just a challenge—it was a death wish!
"Hmph! What do you mean by stealing? I am..."
"Shut up!" Li Xiaonan pressed Yuan Xian'er tightly against him, the faint glow of the Soul Ring enveloping them both, concealing their cultivation levels and reducing them to mere mortals.
Yuan Xian'er's face flushed with embarrassment as she tried to push Li Xiaonan away but found herself unable to move at all.
After five minutes, Li Xiaonan finally sighed in relief and released Yuan Xian'er, muttering, "The power of the immortal's divine sense is too strong... Hehe!" Before he could finish his sentence, his divine sense was pulled back to Yuan Ying.
You can't play like this! Yuan Ying at the Dantian looked like she was about to cry, which was heart-wrenching, but unfortunately, no one noticed.
