Flower Rubbing! When did I become your little brother!
Li Xiaonan muttered to himself, but on the surface, he smiled and bowed to everyone, saying, "Greetings, esteemed Demon Emperors."
"We, the Demon Clan, are discussing the invasion of the Cultivation Realm. Why is there a Cultivator meddling in our affairs?" The Northern Emperor was a tall, thin old man. Judging by his appearance, he seemed similar to the East Emperor; both were at a stage where if they did not improve their cultivation soon, they would not last many more years.
"That is not correct. None of us have been to the Cultivation Realm and know little about it. Having a guide would be much better," Jack snapped his fingers, and several alluring witches with beautiful faces entered from outside to serve tea.
"Indeed, that is true. Northern Emperor, please remain calm. We have waited so long; there is no need to rush this matter," the East Emperor waved his hand at the Northern Emperor, signaling him to take a seat.
"What do you all think we should do to advance into the Cultivation Realm?" The Western Emperor grinned as he pulled a witch close and began to fondle her ample bosom, though his gaze was fixed on Li Xiaonan.
Flower Rubbing, you pervert!
Li Xiaonan quickly lowered his head to look at his cup, ignoring Ouyang Feng's gaze.
"Everyone, I think we should listen to the Southern Emperor's opinion on this matter. After all, if it weren't for the previous Southern Emperor sacrificing his life, we wouldn't even have access to the Zhuolu Cultivation Realm!" Jack said as he took a sip from his teacup.
The East Emperor nodded in agreement. "Fei Ji has made tremendous contributions to our Demon Clan!"
Uh... The father of an airplane is useless... Li Xiaonan nearly spat out his tea. He stole a glance at Fei Ji and saw her expression was icy, yet there was a hint of pain in her eyes.
Fei Ji stood up and bowed respectfully to the East Emperor. "Senior, my father predicted how to open the entrance to the Cultivation Realm and also foresaw that our Five Regions would one day discuss advancing into the Cultivation Realm. I am merely here to convey my father's intentions; I hope that is acceptable?"
The East Emperor nodded in acknowledgment.
"After breaking through the rift into the Starry Illusion Continent, I propose that we each begin our plunder based on our current positions in the Demon Realm. I will head south, the Western Emperor will go west, and the rest will follow suit. How does that sound?"
"Sounds good! I have no objections!" Ouyang Feng tossed aside the already limp Witch and clapped his hands.
The Northern Emperor glanced at the East Emperor, and they both nodded in agreement.
"Dividing by east, south, west, and north is certainly fine, but where should I start from in the Central Land?" Jack said with a cold smile as he raised his teacup to look at the gathered demons.
The Northeast Emperors were dozing off, while the Western Emperor idly grabbed another Witch to toy with. Ultimately, Jack's gaze fell on Fei Ji's face.
Li Xiaonan secretly chuckled; Fei Ji's meaning was crystal clear. Each would rely on their own abilities to seize territory. The four factions would naturally have no conflicts of interest as they encroached from the edges toward the center. However, Jack was at a disadvantage; he had to face pressure from all four sides and could never outmaneuver them collectively.
Fei Ji glanced at the Northeast Emperors and said coldly, "Since it's four against one, let's settle this matter of land division. Next, we should discuss the timing of our advance; there is only one entrance..."
Bang! Jack slammed his hand on the table, causing all the cups to shake. He glared at Fei Ji and said, "You are disregarding me!"
Fei Ji chuckled lightly, "Brother Jack, you jest. This council is fundamentally about the majority ruling over the minority. Now that four out of five emperors agree, it is only natural to discuss the next topic. What is wrong with that?"
"Little Jack, you've disturbed my sleep!" The Northern Emperor coldly lifted his gaze toward Jack.
Jack was nearly driven mad. Even though he possessed the strongest equipment in the entire Demon Realm, he couldn't compete against four others! He had long despised the position of Central Land and had hoped for a redivision of territories in the Cultivation world, but here he was again in this deadlock.
Li Xiaonan gently tapped his cup to draw Jack's attention and winked at him, signaling him to remain calm.
Jack took a deep breath. Thankfully, he had managed to deal with that little brat earlier; otherwise, today's council would have been hopeless!
"Fine! I have no objections! Southern Emperor, when do you plan to advance?"
Fei Ji took a sip of tea and smiled, "I have calculated that the Spatial Rift will reach its maximum capacity in a month, allowing tens of thousands of troops to pass through!"
Tens of thousands!
Li Xiaonan was taken aback; how could they possibly defend against that? A month was too short. Even if he could escape right now, there wouldn't be enough time to go to the Underworld for the artillery blueprints!
"Well then, let's set the date for one month from now!" East Emperor, clearly the highest-ranking among the Five Demons, decisively announced.
"Agreed!" Everyone nodded, eager to participate, except for Li Xiaonan, who felt quite frustrated but couldn't show it.
"Shall we move on to the final topic? Who will lead the charge into the Cultivation realm?" Fei Ji lightly tapped his long nails on the table.
Silence fell over the room.
"Lord East Emperor is highly respected and should naturally take command. How about you, Southern Emperor, lead the way? After all, you are the only one who has been to the Cultivation realm," Jack suggested, a faint smirk crossing his face.
"I don't think so. The Southern Emperor is the weakest among us demons and is not suitable for this task. I believe Zhong Di should take the lead; you have the most treasures at your disposal!" Western Emperor replied with a faint smile, gently kissing the Witch in his arms, who quickly transformed from beauty to skeleton.
The technique of Yin-Yang Harmony! Li Xiaonan's eyes nearly bulged out in shock.
"Since none of you are willing, I suppose this old man will take the lead!" Northern Emperor suddenly declared.
The atmosphere became awkward once again.
Li Xiaonan idly toyed with his empty cup. When it finally stopped spinning, he calmly said, "Benefits are always proportional to risks. Northern Emperor indeed has great ambition! The Cultivation realm is rich in Spiritual Energy and abundant in Spiritual Veins; I believe you will achieve great success!"
His words reminded everyone that being first does not necessarily mean being cannon fodder; it could also mean being the one who profits the most!
"Since it's getting late, how about we wrap up today's meeting and continue tomorrow?" Jack suggested.
The others nodded, ready to leave, when Jack suddenly stopped them. "Wait a moment, everyone. A few days ago, one of my subordinates found a beautiful Female Cultivator who is unlike any woman we've seen before. I wonder if you all would be interested in seeing her?"
Li Xiaonan was taken aback, Ling Kui!
The Western Emperor was the first to agree. "Sure! I'm feeling a bit tired anyway!"
The Northeast Emperors exchanged glances and nodded.
"Please allow me to make arrangements. I've instructed my servants to prepare a banquet," Jack gestured invitingly as everyone began to leave.
Fei Ji gently nudged Li Xiaonan and asked, "What do you think?"
"Huh? What?" Li Xiaonan's mind had already wandered off.
"About the military campaign. If it were you, would you choose to take the lead?"
"Absolutely! Why wouldn't I? With benefits come risks. Can you guarantee that waiting won't lead to facing an even stronger enemy?" Li Xiaonan's voice was not loud, but it clearly reached the ears of every Demon Emperor, causing them all to fall into deep thought.
Of course, his true thoughts were not as straightforward; he simply wanted to stir the pot further.
Taking the lead inevitably meant becoming cannon fodder, but as Li Xiaonan said, being the first to step onto the Cultivation realm could also yield the greatest rewards.
Clapping his hands together, Jack signaled for everyone to take their seats.
A woman dressed in blue slowly entered from outside the hall. Her skirt and cuffs were adorned with silver embroidery, and her collar was intricately stitched with light golden clouds. The fabric of her dress was mostly covered in blooming green vines, and her cascading Azure Silks were gathered up with a jade hairpin.
She lightly veiled her face, seemingly oblivious to those within the hall, yet her bright eyes revealed an underlying coldness.
This stunningly beautiful woman was none other than Ling Kui, a name deeply etched in Li Xiaonan's heart.
Li Xiaonan's heart had already leaped out of his chest; he could only clench his fists tightly, using the pain in his palms to suppress the turmoil within.
"Let the music begin!" Jack snapped his fingers, and a melodious tune floated into the air.
In the center of the hall, Ling Kui stood alone, like an ethereal orchid in a desolate valley. As the music flowed, she lightly tapped her toes, lotus flowers blooming beneath her feet. With a graceful turn of her waist, the green veil fluttered and danced, as if painting a vivid picture with every movement.
Li Xiaonan was completely entranced; this was even more beautiful than the dance of the swan in Empresses in the Palace! How did I not know Ling Kui could dance?
Fei Ji immediately recognized the woman on stage. She glanced at Li Xiaonan, who was staring wide-eyed in a daze. In frustration, she downed her drink in one gulp.
As the final note leaped from the strings, Ling Kui lightly tapped her feet once more. As she steadied herself, the veil fell to the ground, revealing her exquisite face to everyone present.
At last, Ling Kui's gaze landed on Li Xiaonan's face.
Both were momentarily stunned, not expecting to meet again at such a moment.
"Little brother, what do you think?" Jack suddenly asked.
Li Xiaonan felt an urge to lash out at him; he took a deep breath and uttered eight words: "Like a startled swan, graceful as a wandering dragon."
The silver-eyed East Emperor's pupils constricted sharply as he coldly declared, "Jack! I want that woman!"
The people in the hall were somewhat taken aback; this old man was not known for his lecherous ways. What was going on today? He should consider his age—he could be this cultivation realm girl's ancestor.
"Big Brother! I want her!" Li Xiaonan coldly stood up.
A sly smile flickered at the corner of Jack's mouth. He had received information that these two Cultivators knew each other, but he didn't expect a woman to immediately ignite the conflict between the two factions in the southeast.
"Sit down!" Fei Ji frowned and ordered Li Xiaonan.
"Oh dear! What are we going to do now? Little brother, I think you should just let go of your senior's beloved."
"She is my wife! Who is taking whom's love?" Li Xiaonan was going crazy, his hands tightly clenched as he prepared to snap his fingers at the first sign of trouble.
The East Emperor coldly glanced at Fei Ji and said, "What does a wife matter? Women are like clothes, little brother. As long as you give this woman to me, once I take over the Cultivation world, I can give you half of my Territory!"
Territory? What the hell! If you can't even keep your wife, how can you expect to hold onto Territory?
Li Xiaonan took a deep breath but was pulled back by Fei Ji. "Do you not understand what I'm saying? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
"In any case, I want this Dragon Maiden!" The East Emperor slammed his palm down, shattering the long table in front of him.
"What? She is really a dragon?" The Western Emperor, Ouyang Feng, was the first to lose control and exclaimed in shock.
The flesh and blood of dragons were a great supplement for demons, and at that moment, even Ouyang Feng was tempted.
