For this list of ten individuals, Yi Tianchen felt relatively satisfied. Although he had not encountered eight of them before, the fact that seven out of ten possessed hidden classes was enough to indicate their capabilities. In the game, acquiring a coveted hidden class required not only considerable skill but also a bit of luck.
After exiting the northern gate of Southern Wilderness City, Yi Tianchen and his companions' carriage traveled at a forty-degree angle northwest through Lion Plains. They soon entered a dense forest and, after about ten minutes of winding through, reached their destination: Venomous Bee Forest.
This small grove was located to the northwest of Southern Wilderness City, filled with sturdy trees that intertwined in every direction. The tree canopies were low yet densely branched, adorned with vibrant green leaves that blocked out most sunlight, leaving only a few faint spots of light on the ground.
However, Yi Tianchen and his companions did not take the main path; instead, they carved a small trail through the thorns of the Bush. The reason was clear: their mission was to confront a boss, and it was best to proceed cautiously until they understood the situation fully.
"Hiss..."
After about ten minutes, a non-human roar could be faintly heard ahead in the silent forest. Instantly, the "boss" label flashed in their minds. The sound was filled with struggle and anger, familiar to them as seasoned players who had slain numerous bosses.
"Left front, about a hundred meters," The Terminator of Regrets said calmly. However, as he gazed leftward, a spark of excitement ignited within him.
"Hehe... a boss! I like it!" Not a Master exclaimed with bright eyes, exaggeratedly licking his lips as he raised his gleaming heavy sword. He turned back and continued, "Boss, shall we hurry? If we don't move quickly, we might miss out on the boss's defeat."
"There's no rush."
Yi Tianchen's tone was very calm, as if all of this had nothing to do with him. While speaking, he swung Dragon's Roar to clear away some thorns and continued to walk forward at an unhurried pace.
The Terminator of Regrets and Not a Master exchanged glances filled with confusion but quickly followed suit. The three of them hacked their way through the thicket along a crescent-shaped path from the side, approaching cautiously. Ahead lay a slope flanked by dense bushes that provided excellent cover for concealment.
As they moved closer, what unfolded before Yi Tianchen and his companions was quite impressive. Not far down the slope was an expansive forest with relatively flat terrain. Intermittent bushes could serve as natural barriers for ambushing the boss effectively.
In the center, a poison bee the size of a wild boar buzzed around, occasionally revealing its long, curved stinger at the rear. It would sting anyone it found displeasing with remarkable speed and precision, sending a chill down one's spine.
"Demon Hornet King, Level 45 Dark Gold Boss, Vitality 350,000, Attack 2,500-3,150. The supreme ruler active in the Venomous Bee Forest, its primary attack method involves using its poisonous stinger combined with high-speed dashes to inflict continuous poison damage on its targets."
Using Identification Technique, Yi Tianchen quickly gathered information about this formidable boss. A Level 45 Dark Gold Boss was quite enticing; otherwise, so many players wouldn't be crowding around, each stretching their necks as if eager to charge in.
However, upon closer inspection, Yi Tianchen and his companions were taken aback. The crowd surrounding the boss was arranged in a triangular formation, each group clearly displaying different mercenary guild emblems on their arms.
This meant that three factions were currently vying for the Demon Hornet King!
"Tsk tsk... On the left is Owl Dragon, on the right is Culinary Team, and ahead is Empire. This is going to be interesting," The Terminator of Regrets remarked quietly, quickly pointing out the three factions to Yi Tianchen.
Owl Dragon was familiar to them; they had encountered it in an unknown forest when Yi Tianchen, The Terminator of Regrets, and Not a Master had crossed paths. Standing at the front was none other than its President, a formidable player ranked eighth on the Level leaderboard.
Next to Owl Dragon stood Fallen Grudge from First Assassin and Frost Dragon Wuhen from First Berserker, both intently focused on the Demon Hornet King. Behind them was a slaying team of forty to fifty members—heavily armored at the front, leather armor in the middle, and cloth armor at the back—forming a layered combination of firepower.
Culinary Team was an unexpectedly colorful guild. It was said that its President was a chef who entered the game after losing his job with a mindset of just trying it out. He formed a guild with only himself—Culinary Team.
Unexpectedly, this unique guild name brought considerable popularity. In just half a year, Culinary Team grew to nearly a thousand members. This was two years ago; now that two years had passed, Culinary Team had transitioned from Conquest to Zero Era.
Finally, there was Empire Guild, which had a glorious past. Four years ago, people would associate Empire with large guilds like Divine Silence, War God Hall, and Righteousness Above All. However, during its peak glory days, internal strife led to its downfall.
One boss and three guilds!
Yi Tianchen felt quite speechless about this situation. While it promised an exciting spectacle, he also realized another point: they were here for the boss too. Facing three powerful guilds with only three of them clearly posed a challenge; it was likely they might not even get involved at all.
"Boss, what should we do? The Three Guilds are all after the boss. Can we still grab it?" Not a Master frowned. While taking down a boss was exciting, facing the Three Guilds made it significantly less appealing.
"Let's wait and see."
Yi Tianchen's words were simple. His gaze lingered on the boss in the arena for a moment before he suddenly realized, "There's a fourth force!"
"Uh..."
The Terminator of Regrets and Not a Master were taken aback and immediately looked around. They noticed that the ones currently besieging the Demon Hornet King were not from any of the Three Guilds, but rather a group of players without any mercenary guild insignia, belonging to no faction.
"Seven people?" The Terminator of Regrets was somewhat speechless.
"What the hell! These guys are really bold!" Not a Master exclaimed incredulously. To challenge a boss right under the noses of the Three Guilds required not only considerable courage but also a fair amount of confidence.
However...
The scene before them was all too clear. Although these Seven People were not influenced by external factors, they were still surrounded by the Three Guilds. The intent of the Three Guilds was obvious: let these Seven People act as cannon fodder first, and then later engage in a three-way battle for supremacy.
But...
Would these Seven People willingly play the role of cannon fodder, knowing they were surrounded?
