Darkness enveloped them, a heavy shroud of black!
"Shouldn't we wait until dawn to go down?" The voice of Rebellious Blood Blade echoed in the darkness. Although the others didn't voice their thoughts, they all shared the same sentiment; this overwhelming darkness was beyond their control.
"This is likely just a setup!" Divine Silence Dust Fate explained.
"A setup?"
"It means this is a rather special scene layout. Even if you wait until dawn, this darkness will still remain! It won't change with the passage of time!" Divine Silence Dust Fate continued to elaborate.
"Divine Silence President is right!"
Yi Tianchen, at the forefront of the scouting team, found himself at the very bottom of the group. He was acutely aware of the surrounding darkness that seemed like smoke and mist, yet refused to dissipate. This peculiar scene was indeed quite troubling.
"Tianchen, do you sense anything?" Liu Yuhan suddenly sent a private message.
Yi Tianchen was taken aback; as an archer, Liu Yuhan's perception of her surroundings was sharper than anyone else's in that moment.
"What?"
"I have a feeling that something unknown is lurking in this darkness, and it's rapidly approaching us!" Liu Yuhan expressed her unease.
"Damn it!"
Yi Tianchen shouted suddenly, for at that moment he too felt a powerful presence rushing toward them. He immediately warned the others: "Everyone, it seems something is coming! Get ready for battle!"
"What?"
"Hey, it's about time! This constant silence has only made me more anxious!" Rebellious Blood Blade exclaimed with fervor, swinging his spear through the air with a whoosh, coldly declaring, "Whatever it is, let's have a good battle today!"
"Ga—"
A chilling screech suddenly pierced through the darkness!
"Seven o'clock position!" Yi Tianchen tightened his grip on Dragon's Roar, followed by a long howl as the effect of Undead Armor activated. He urged his mount to ascend rapidly in an arc, and there it was—a massive swarm of dark creatures rushing towards them like locusts.

"It's a level 110 Mutated Dark Insect!" Yi Tianchen quickly cast Identification Technique and swiftly dodged to the side. "These monsters are small in size, but they swarm in large numbers. We won't have the advantage in the air!"
"Boom!"
A gigantic flower of flames erupted in the darkness, revealing the figure of Supreme Treasure wielding a staff, illuminating the so-called Mutated Dark Insects—strange creatures about the size of a small cat.
"There are too many monsters; we can't fight them all!" Liu Yuhan warned.
"Damn it, it seems we're surrounded!" Qianye's voice suddenly rang out, incredulously adding, "Not just front, back, left, and right—it's a full three-dimensional encirclement from all sides! If they rush at us all at once, we're definitely done for!"
"We have to break through!"
Yi Tianchen's expression darkened. Faced with such a multitude of flying monsters, they couldn't unleash their full potential in mid-air. The longer they delayed, the worse it would be for them. Resolutely, he declared, "Stick close; we're going straight down!"
"Hah, with First Person leading the way, we’ll be fine!" Supreme Treasure chimed in.
In the next moment, Yi Tianchen rode his mount into a rapid dive, suddenly spotting a large mass of black objects rushing toward him.
"Not good!"
Yi Tianchen sighed inwardly as he heard Liu Yuhan's melodious voice in the darkness: "Ice and Snow Power, as a Contractor, I call upon you to let the boundless Chill freeze the world before me, to freeze all life—absolute zero!"
A pale blue light arrow shot past swiftly!
Everyone had witnessed the power of absolute zero on land, but no one had ever seen its effects in mid-air.
Even Liu Yuhan herself felt a blankness in her mind at that moment!
She instinctively thought that this skill's freezing effect could be used to resolve the situation, but she had no idea what the actual outcome would be. It was simply too unique a scenario to imagine.
"Wow!"
Ice crystals spread out, and countless Mutated Dark Insects were transformed into sparkling ice sculptures, forming a wall of ice sculptures in front of Yi Tianchen. Because of the freezing effect, they reflected the light from Yi Tianchen's equipment clearly.
"Beautiful!"
Yi Tianchen couldn't help but exclaim. He suddenly thrust his Dragon's Roar forward, pulling the connected iron chains with a clanging sound. It fell like a rapidly descending stone onto a piece of glass, producing a crisp sound before shattering into countless fragments.
"Huh?"
Including Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan, everyone was momentarily stunned by the scene before them. Could it be that attacking on top of the freezing effect would yield additional high damage? This seemed unprecedented in their experience.
"Is this considered a compound effect of skills?" Supreme Treasure asked in astonishment.
"Wow, if that's the case, the destructive power is going to be immense!" Rebellious Blood Blade still found it hard to believe. He had heard of Composite Magic but had never heard of a combined lethal effect. Could it be that two different skills could truly produce such an effect under certain conditions?
"Regardless, let's charge in and find out!" Yi Tianchen said.
With another burst of speed, Yi Tianchen was the first to plunge once more into the vast darkness. His Dragon's Roar swung out from time to time, sending the approaching Mutated Dark Insects either flying away with tremendous force or cleaving them in half.
The scene was indeed quite gruesome!
Fortunately, everyone's visibility was severely restricted, so they couldn't witness the horrific sight up close.
"Eh?"
Suddenly, Yi Tianchen let out a light sigh and said incredulously, "It seems we are about to enter a whole new mysterious area."
"What do you mean?" several voices chimed in unison.
"That is..." Liu Yuhan, who was closely following Yi Tianchen, couldn't help but express his surprise. Just beneath their feet—or rather, not far ahead in the darkness—a faint white glow began to emerge, standing out vividly against the dark backdrop.
However, it was already nighttime!
Moreover, they were descending toward the bottom of a deep valley; such an unusual phenomenon shouldn't be occurring. Yet everything before them felt so real that they couldn't help but believe it.
Could that be the end of the darkness?
