Chapter One Hundred Ninety-Eight: The Great Escape 2
“Kenny, Wen Tao is back.”
“Oh? He certainly knows how to make good time. Let him in.”
The Black Man stepped aside to let the door open, and Wu Wentao rushed in, still wearing his helmet. He shouted anxiously, “What’s going on outside? Why are they fighting?”
Kenny smiled at his somewhat reckless subordinate and waved a hand to calm him down. “We’ll talk about that later. You’ve worked hard; take your team downstairs to check it out.”
“Huh?” Wu Wentao’s brows furrowed, his eyes widening in surprise. “Is something happening down there too?”
“Go quickly; we can’t afford any mistakes in the laboratory.” Kenny didn’t elaborate further and called out to him before he left, asking, “Is everything taken care of?”
“Look at my memory; I almost forgot about that.” Wu Wentao slapped his forehead, hurriedly pulling up a chair to sit down and catch his breath. “It’s almost done. Those kids in the lab are really something. The pheromones don’t look like much, but they last a long time… Except for the Southwest region being too scattered, the Northwest, North China, and East China areas have all been energized. Before I returned, the front part had already crossed Hebei. The blockade line at the Establishment’s old nest is quite long; it’ll take some time to break through.”
“They still have the energy to maintain a blockade?” Kenny raised an eyebrow and chuckled. “What about along the coast?”
“Ghost towns; they’re basically all empty.” Wu Wentao clicked his tongue and lamented, “Damn it, if only supplies weren’t limited, I could have blown up the Establishment’s old nest!”
The Black Man let out an unabashed scoff, giving the boastful man a sidelong glance without saying a word.
“What? Don’t you believe me?” Wu Wentao shot a glare at the Black Man, clearly displeased by his disdain.
"I just saw your airstrike skills," the Black Man shrugged, indicating he meant no harm, a mischievous grin plastered on his shiny face.
"Alright, with the Horde's large-scale encirclement, it's only a matter of time before the Establishment jumps ship. What about RCA? No movement?" Kenny interrupted the bickering between the two and raised a question that concerned him.
"No, they have anti-air capabilities. I didn't dare to go over," Wu Wentao replied, pausing as if recalling something. He muttered, "I heard there are antibodies emerging, but I can't confirm the source. RCA claims it's from the Establishment, while the Establishment says it's from RCA. Who knows what's true?"
"Antibodies? Ridiculous." Kenny seemed unaffected by the gunfire around him, smiling cheerfully as he said, "Let them be. So what if they have antibodies? Do they have the ability to spread it? If this is handled well, you can take another trip once things calm down below."
"Sure thing." Wu Wentao grinned foolishly and got up to leave.
The Black Man watched Wu Wentao's departing figure and questioned, "Is it reliable?"
"Wen Tao is dependable when it comes to work. Go bring An Zheng's child here," Kenny exhaled a puff of smoke, gently extinguishing his cigar. He added, "By the way, check on Bai Yudong; he’s been gone for about twenty minutes now."
"Understood." The Black Man nodded, a flicker of resentment flashing in his eyes at the mention of Bai Yudong.

Gunfire erupted amidst the wild winds as two groups on the desolate plain temporarily ceased fire, each licking their wounds and silently waiting for the next clash. In a corner of the field, the Red Willow swayed in the breeze, casting clusters of shadows that concealed several tense individuals from the chaos of battle.
Bai Yudong's expression was emotionless as he held his gun steady, his aim shifting back and forth between Ming Junwei and Chen Zhao Zhou's heads. Chen Zhao Zhou was no ordinary armed robber; he knew how to use nearby cover to protect himself. He found it strange why Bai Yudong was fixated on him. So what if he had shot him twice? He wasn't dead.
"You let him go; Kenny said not to kill them," Bai Yudong said coldly, his gaze lingering slightly on Ming Junwei.
"I heard you're also an officer of the Establishment. How did you end up as Kenny's lapdog?" Chen Zhao Zhou sneered, pressing the gun against Ming Junwei's head. "He deserves to die, doesn't he?"
"You don't get to decide that." Bai Yudong's emotions showed no signs of fluctuation; he merely narrowed his eyes slightly. The effects of the drug were beginning to take hold. In this wild area, apart from the two people in front of him, there were various scents lingering in the air. He stood downwind,
