Chapter 243: Ghost Ship 0

Clouds obscured the moon in the sky, and the pale moonlight dimmed considerably. The group lost interest in keeping watch and each sought a dry place to rest. 0

Everyone was exhausted, yet no one could fall into a deep sleep. They feared that if they did, they might wake to find themselves alone on the rocks; they huddled together for warmth but remained wary of one another. They tried to foster trust in hopes of finding a leader to guide them to safety, only to sadly realize that none of them were truly trustworthy. 0

Several women kept their eyes fixed on the direction where Jin Bo and the others had departed. Their gazes were softer than the sea, filled with a glimmer of hope—uncertain whether it was meant for Jin Bo or for themselves. 0

The dark clouds lingered, merging the sky and earth into one. The night wind howled, intensifying the psychological strain on the group. 0

One person trembled as they stood up, leaning against a rock while making their way into the wind. Those nearby glanced up and noticed his pallid complexion. Just as someone was about to ask, a rumble from his stomach interrupted them. Frowning, he sat for a moment, feeling increasingly unwell before finally rising with difficulty and running off in the same manner as before, clutching his stomach. 0

As the night deepened, more people began to rise and leave. The sea breeze carried a foul stench that spread through the area. 0

The Suit Man covered his nose, still shaken as he rubbed his beer belly, secretly relieved that he had a poor appetite and had eaten little. The stench of feces enveloped the rocks, making the night even harder to endure. 0

"Sister, do you think those kids can make it across?" asked a Curly-Haired Woman softly while covering her mouth and nose. 0

"I don't know, but I hope they can get across and find a way to come back for us," replied the middle-aged woman. Her concern for Fang Fei and the others stemmed from both worry and a desire to keep an almost nonexistent escape route open for herself. 0

"It's hard to say. The night is calm without much wind or waves; they might actually make it," said the first young man who had run off to relieve himself, clutching his stomach as he sat across from the two women. He had already made three trips and looked somewhat pale. 0

"What good will it do if they do? Do you really expect them to turn back and rescue us?" scoffed the Suit Man at the middle-aged woman's thoughts, snorting derisively. "Even if they wanted to help, they wouldn't have the ability!" 0

"You still say that? If it weren't for you, would those kids have turned against us?" The Curly-haired Woman glared at the Suit Man and said angrily, "After all, they saved us back then..." 0

"Hey? You're being a bit shameless here. I didn't see you standing with them before," the Suit Man's teammate retorted, displeased. "You're in the Cao camp but your heart is with Han. You really are something!" 0

"Enough arguing, what good does it do?" Diarrhea Number Two chimed in, feeling the tension rise as he hurried over, clutching his stomach. However, the Suit Man was not having any of it and shot back sarcastically, "What do you think you're doing? Go take care of your own business and get lost; it really stinks." 0

"Are you looking for a fight?" Diarrhea Number Two was provoked by the mockery and stepped forward, ready to throw down. The two women who had started the conversation sensed trouble and quickly stood in front of the two men. In an instant, shoving and shouting drowned out the foul smell, while a few others squatting nearby peeked over with puzzled expressions. 0

"What time is it? Why are we fighting among ourselves?" 0

"What the hell! Don't anyone stop me!" 0

"Come over if you dare! I—" 0

"Everyone shut up!!" 0

The Sharp Soprano's voice cut through the chaos, instantly silencing those ready to brawl. The crowd turned to see the woman who had been quietly sitting on a rock staring into the distance had stood up at some point. With her back to everyone, she seemed oblivious to their argument. She hunched over slightly, adopting a listening posture, one hand raised high in the air to signal everyone to be quiet. 0

A few of the Jinxes, realizing what was happening, hurriedly pulled up their pants and returned to join the others, all craning their necks in the direction where the woman was gazing. 0

"Listen," she said. 0

"What is it?" The crowd looked at each other in confusion, wondering if this woman had lost her mind. 0

The Curly-Haired Woman found herself caught up in the commotion with the middle-aged woman, straining to hear any unusual sounds. In the distance, the dark sea shimmered faintly, surrounded by an all-encompassing darkness. What could possibly be out of the ordinary? Just as she was about to ask another question, she noticed the Soprano making a shushing gesture, her face unexpectedly bright with a hint of joy. The combination of her expression, posture, and the scene was unsettling. 0

The crowd gathered in one spot began to disperse, some faces changing as they silently moved toward the rocky shore. 0

The Suit Man squinted, his brows twitching in surprise as he exclaimed, "A boat?!" 0

"Huh? Where's the boat?" someone asked, confused. 0

"The sound of a motor!" exclaimed Diarrhea Number Two, his eyes lighting up. "It's the sound of a motor!!" 0

As if to match the moment's atmosphere, the clouds that had obscured the bright moon quietly parted, allowing silvery moonlight to spill over the sea once more. The suspicious crowd erupted into joyous cheers, many rubbing their eyes in disbelief as they stared at the yacht cutting through the darkness, speeding toward them without daring to blink. 0

"I can't be dreaming..." Diarrhea Number Two muttered to himself but soon realized that everyone around him had already rushed to the rocks, waving their arms and shouting with excitement. Only the Suit Man, who had been ready to fight earlier, remained beside him. As the yacht drew closer, the Suit Man's pupils dilated and contracted in shock as he gasped, "Hiss... How... how did it come back?" 0

"Huh?" Diarrhea Number Two didn't quite understand. He glanced at him before looking back at the approaching yacht and froze in surprise. "Wait? Isn't that the boat that drifted away during the day?" 0

Not just the two of them; everyone recognized it as it slowly approached. 0
