The rapid shift in identity was something Chef Jia had not anticipated. The two bodies lying in pools of blood caused this aloof Cook to waver slightly. To be honest, the thoughts and ruthlessness of Song Jiu seemed even more brutal than that of a Zombie. Whether choosing to cooperate with Song Jiu was right or wrong was a question that could only linger in his mind. At this point, Chef Jia understood that he had been thoroughly dragged into the depths of this situation and could only continue to act according to the plan. As for what would happen next, he would have to decide later. 0

The Zombie had already entered the attack range, and the attention of the guards and Militia was focused outside; no one noticed the small incident happening at the house. Chef Jia steadied himself at the entrance of the Brick Wall, forcing himself to forget the crimson pools of blood. He restored his usual expression and pushed through the lined-up Militia to enter. 0

Stubborn Man had been coordinating manpower with Scarface Bald below when he suddenly spotted Chef Jia and paused for a moment. "Hey, Sister Jia, what are you doing here?" 0

"Baldy? I need to talk to him," Chef Jia replied lightly, nodding slightly. His gaze drifted toward the doorway as he asked, "How's it going? Are we going out to clear out the Zombies soon?" 0

"Uh, not for now. You take the people here to gather at the square," Stubborn Man said. Chef Jia nodded, casually taking the triangular scraper from a Militia member's hand before turning and walking into the doorway. 0

The afternoon sun gradually tilted, casting orange rays across the Brick Wall, barely stopping at the entrance. Usually conserving resources, they hadn't lit torches during the day. Chef Jia gripped the scraper in his hand and called out to the guards crowded at the entrance, heading straight toward Stubborn Man, who was peering outside. 0

"What are you looking at?" Chef Jia asked. 0

"Just checking the situation; it looks like things are almost clear at the front door. We should be able to send people out to clear them," Stubborn Man replied, tossing aside his cigarette butt and cursing under his breath. He turned around and said, "Why is Baldy still not—" At that moment, as Stubborn Man turned, Chef Jia suddenly pressed against him, covering his mouth with one hand while plunging the triangular scraper deep into Stubborn Man's chest with the other. 0

"Don't blame me," Chef Jia's voice trembled slightly. In the darkness, his eyes shifted through various emotions—from pity to determination. In an instant, Stubborn Man's struggle ceased; his hand that gripped Chef Jia's arm fell limply to his side. 0

Meanwhile, Pockmarked Girl led Song Jiu and two others in a frantic run, darting past their small shelter and racing toward the Vegetable Greenhouse they had visited earlier. 0

"Come on! Why are you slowing down?" Pockmarked Girl looked at Song Jiu in confusion and wondered aloud, "Your stamina can't be worse than mine, right?" 0

"That's not it," Song Jiu replied as he gazed at the lush greenery of vegetables before him. "You said earlier that only you and Sister Jia knew about the Zombies in the camp." 0

"Yeah." The Pockmarked Girl didn't understand why he suddenly brought this up. She had been all fired up and ready to start a revolution, but this sudden halt had deflated her fighting spirit by half. 0

"The camp keeps changing personnel, and only you two know about it." 0

"Yes, yes." 0

"And you’re still trying to fool me?" Song Jiu suddenly exploded, grabbing the Pockmarked Girl by her collar. With a flick of his arm, he pressed the blade of a scraper against her neck, cursing, "My people were taken away as soon as they arrived. Damn it, how could they not know where they were being held? How could they not know about the Zombie?" 0

"Ah!" The Pockmarked Girl was stunned, and A Hai was also taken aback. 0

"Damn, I really underestimated you guys. I wondered why that woman agreed to cooperate so readily; turns out she was plotting something here," Song Jiu tightened his grip, and a line of blood appeared on the fair skin of the Pockmarked Girl's neck. "You really played your part well." 0

"Are you crazy? I don’t understand what you’re saying! Let go of me; you're hurting me!" The Pockmarked Girl was frightened by Song Jiu's sudden change in demeanor. She wanted to break free but was afraid of the blade at her throat, stammering in defense, "I didn’t lie to you." 0

"Then explain it to me," Song Jiu felt increasingly uneasy. Combining this with Chef Jia's earlier strange behavior, Loud Voice questioned, "Where have my people been taken?" 0

"I... I..." The Pockmarked Girl stuttered for a long time without finishing her sentence. Her face showed a look of realization as she exclaimed, "Oh no, how could I have forgotten about this?" 0

"It's too late to remember now." A chill ran through Song Jiu's heart as he raised his arm, preparing to deal with this Oscar-worthy act. 0

"No, no, no! You misunderstood! I mean, it’s possible that not just Jia Jia and I know about this; maybe Baldy and the others know too. Yes, it must be like that! Otherwise, Sister Jia alone wouldn’t be able to control the camp smoothly. The guards must also be aware of the situation and are cooperating with Sister Jia." 0

"The personnel keep changing; how could they suddenly become guards? Save your lies for someone else." 0

"Don't be impulsive, I really didn't lie to you," Pockmarked Girl said, her face flushed with anxiety. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she continued to plead, "You believe me, the guards have changed, that's true, but Sister Jia might have connections with every batch of guards. I swear I'm not lying! If you don't believe me, let's go back and check. If I'm lying, you can do whatever you want with me." 0

Song Jiu glared at Pockmarked Girl, his anger nearly overwhelming his reason. Slowly, he loosened his grip on the razor pressed against her throat. The three-edged blade had done its job well; the delicate skin of her neck was already marked with a deep cut, and blood had soaked into her collar. 0

Pockmarked Girl cried like a rain-soaked pear blossom, breaking free from Song Jiu's iron grip. She covered the wound on her neck and stepped back a few paces. The cunning spark in her eyes was replaced by sheer terror. 0

" Brother Jiu, maybe I should go back and check the situation," A Hai suggested, swallowing hard. He knew that Pockmarked Girl had narrowly escaped death. If they weren't trapped inside the camp at that moment, Song Jiu would have undoubtedly slit her throat without hesitation. Perhaps Pockmarked Girl was telling the truth, but Song Jiu wouldn't take any chances, especially with someone as unpredictable as her. 0

Taking a deep breath, Song Jiu tried to calm himself down. He recalled the few desperate words Pockmarked Girl had spoken when her life was on the line, and gradually, his hostility began to fade. 0

"I'll go. You two keep an eye on her. If I'm not back in ten minutes..." Song Jiu paused, his gaze sweeping over the sobbing Pockmarked Girl before he spat out a cold word through clenched teeth: "Kill." 0
